I got home a lot later than anticipated yesterday because my brother and I decided to explore London for a few hours rather than immediately jump on the first train home. By the time I got in I was knackered and basically went straight to sleep. I've read bits over the weekend but not much and what I did read, I didn't always have context for. Going to catch up now from my last post and see where things stand currently.

That was a joke. I've been slimy. Scummy. Mucousy. Sweaty.

Sick.

I have no metric for whether I've actually acted like mafia or not. So why is Jack town in your GTH reads? And why aren't you working on coming to any conclusions on myself/Jack (I feel like he and I are kinda important to the state of the game)

Did you want me to bat an eye?

I have a strategy that I use when I want to actually be productive in a mafia game. It's called "ignore all suspicion directed against me." Works pretty well. But if you have any specific questions (not barbs or stated accusations), I will address them.

I don't remember any questions, but I was in the middle of a GTH session.

That's a good question.

I was hoping to engage people today, but they all left shortly after I put together my first pseudo-ISO. You're the only person I can engage now.

Because he tried to lynch Sloonei. Yes this is old news, but it's the limit of my recollection.

Honestly, I logged in the other day and freaked out because I was about to be lynched. But I probably shouldn't have posted when I did, hence why you guys didn't hear more from me. I didn't expect to survive the lynch either, that was a surprise to me.

Anyway, just checking in right now to say hi. But I'll be back to post more later on today, and I've got a bone to pick with you voters. :suspish:

Can Marmot not be town and Gemini Man?

The main thing I don't understand is why in my catch up people seem to be assuming Gemini Man is definitely a baddie with what appears to be no evidence other than his vote to tie the lynch. I'm not opposed to re-lynching Marmot, especially if I can be presented with a convincing answer to this question.

If that’s the case, why didn’t he defend himself then or in the next day?

To what end does townie Marmot throw someone else under the bus only to let himself be mislynched the next day? (Same question if Marmot isn’t GM I suppose.)

Gemini Man (and Speedchuck and LC) caused us to waste a day lynching Simon when the consensus was that Marmot should be lynched. Simon was town. None of those players gave a good reason for lynching Simon over Marmot yet here we are. Ergo, Gemini Man looks shady af.

:suspish:
Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present to you “freaked out” Marmot.

I'm gonna roll my eyes at this post. Hard.

Those quotes could absolutely be categorized as freaking out.

If Marmot is scum and not Gemini Man, same conclusion.

He seems to be claiming he was silenced and broke the rules of it by posting. Not sure if I buy it. As to why he hasn't defended himself since:

If I had the ability to apply an extra vote to someone, you can 100% guarantee I'd use it defensively regardless of my alignment. I guess that's why I can see a civ GM voting to tie up a lynch to protect himself. I'm mostly just playing devil's advocate with this though, my questioning here is more with regard to Gemini Man specifically.

Okay this is a solid point.

Could be Speed. Could be LC. Could be bad luck.

Gemini Man's extra vote ever happen before?

To me, I wouldn't blow my load on a close lynch like that if it wasn't a last resort (Meaning if I hadn't exhausted all other options i.e my team wasn't already helping me out in the votes)

Only gemini man vote on record.

Very good point.

Why? A double vote is cheaper than a teammate sticking out their neck.

On second thought...

This makes sense if Marmot is town and working with his power alone, but it also makes sense if Marmot is scum and just saw an opportunity to possibly push things forward a day phase without involving his teammates. He's gonna die and lose the power if he doesn't use it anyway.

Assuming that he's Gemini man, of course. If he's not, then... I wouldn't waste it to tie a lynch. Might not even do anything.

If it were me, I view it like this

1. Marmot as Gemini is an MVP for the team with his ability to double vote
2. Assuming it only works once, I would save it for a worst case rainy day type dealio.
3. If the vote was as close as it seems from the chatter I've been hearing, no harm no foul in teammates trying to push Simon over Marmot
4. Popping the Gemini vote suggests either Marmots team was already in on the Simon vote and they really really wanted him to stay up, or whoever was on his team but not on the Simon wagon would have fucked themselves and Marmot over if they switched.

If Marmot is bad it would've been smarter to cut bait or have a teammate or two do the push, rather than pop the Gemini vote (because now, if Marmot's bad, his utility to the team is null)
If Marmot is good, it would've been smarter to pop the Gemini vote because he knows he's good and he didn't know if Simon was.

But

Marmot attaching himself erroneously to the Luna lynch is the thing that's most stuck in my craw about the whole ordeal.

If Marmot is Gemini Man then there's no downside to using his power to save himself, town or scum. It's the way he voted that seems suspicious to me, like he was trying to catch us with our pants down

Point three is your problem.

The vote was 3 to 5. I'd freaking notice if Marmot AND ANOTHER PERSON OR TWO jumped on the lynch wagon. Gemini was only enough to tie the wagons there.

3 to 5 is close, but proportionally horridly far. Because this game is full of lurkers.
