Hello my wonderful players. Day 1 has mostly commenced. I sent out all the new squares for movement PMs, went through the roles to give info to roles that need it, like Blind Seer for instance. If you are expecting something that I haven't done, please let me know. The game will run more smoothly as I get some standards, checklists, and automation in place, but these will be developed over the first couple of days, so don't have any qualms about reminding me you need something.

A couple of players have not yet picked up their role PMs, and they and a few more didn't give a Night 0 movement. There may be some lenience and late movement if those players get with the program, but only because we're just getting started.

If your role gives you any information on who's in what square (like the Kraken, Blind Seer, Savage Pixie, etc), then you may be notified of a change if I let some late folks still move.

I'm so on it you guys. My whimstinct is off the charts. I'm playing this game by the tip of my nose with the wind at my back on the seat of my pants and I'm feeling luck in the air tonight. Catch me dropping more hot prepositional phrases later and remember to trust everything I say because I have never felt so confident that I know what's going on when I know that I absolutely have no idea what the hell is going on. And if you're not on my wavelength the resonance is gonna hurt your ears so jot that down.

@@sabie12 you've talked quite a bit about the different poll options and ended up going with "The Honourable Tribunal". Care to walk us through your thought process on that?

Why did this vote stand out to you, when several other people engaged in discussion of what the options could mean, and some just voted with no real engagement at all? I am not trying to put you on the defensive, I really want to know. This post surprised me.

I'm going to be voting DDL tomorrow.

The speculation over the roles is an act to get involved.

I had had that thought as well, that "helpful civ" post ftw. I may or may not have time to read his posts in prior games this weekend, leaning "not", so shortcut; people with more recent DDL experience than I, is that kind of role analysis a norm for civ DDL?

Can I suggest that we change the vote word from aubergine to something that is not one of the role names? I mean, if the point is to be easily searched, then it seems to me it would make it easier if it were a word that isn't likely to come up. Also, lol to the hosts for putting that in there.

I normally don't analyse roles too deeply at once but I'm normally not given a list of 28 roles that I'm supposed to figure out the alignment of so that really incited my curiosity.

I also was wondering some of these same things. Like why I was questioned for my choice in particular when most people just kinda picked because they liked the option. And others also were trying yo figure it out. We didnt know what any of those things were so I just kinda speculated as to what they might mean.

And I also must be old and unhip and I don't know what those things mean either haha.

I actually liked Tranq for this post. He made a good point on TH and I tend to trust people who hunt at super early game when nobody else is hunting. Not gonna put my vote here. Might put on TH.

If anyone can provide me some insight, I've only refreshed myself on a handful of roles and the dream splicer seems really confusing. Since the Splicer has basically 2 clones following him around, does using an action on a clone kill it/indicate that it is a fake? (In other words, if a player stumbles upon the Dream Splicer, are actions against the clones basically considered to be a roleblock/ability fail since they don't target the actual player?)

the north murder woods/jungle were added (pink)
the west lego ruins jungle (red)

bridge over troubled water (yellow north central)
bridge 2 (apparently no one can swim - south west)


Maybe the bridges then are made to nerf the water characters and the extra forests are made to nerf land units with too high mobility?

The map was like that from the start, just an old graphic was posted with a grid on it. Compare to the map in the Signup Thread - jungle and bridges were already part of it.

I wanted to make BTSC optional, but I didn't want social consequences for not entering BTSC. So, you get to know when someone is on your square, but your identity isn't revealed unless you choose to attempt BTSC.
If you 'call out' then that person will know who you are. If they agree to enter BTSC, then you get to know who they are; if they don't, they remain anonymous.

Actions against the Dream Splicer's hologram clones fail, and will seem to be roleblocked. It's like a shell game, gotta pick the right one.

Any square containing water is considered a 'water square' for the Kraken's ability. Most coastal squares are both land and water, completely water squares are rare.
