Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 4]
One other thing before I do that though. Before we got split into levels I had a hazy read of Michelle and slightly suspected her because she wasn't in the thread a lot showing her spunk poking and prodding as much as she normally does as a civ. In our level though she came out full force. She developed a suspicion of me and dogged me just like she does when she is civ. If you have any doubts about her I can pull some of her posts.
Wait, is that sig saying he's not mafia? Lolol.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 4]
Turnip Head - ISO Night 0 - Night 2
I haven't finished reading Turnip Head yet but I want to go ahead and post what I've seen so far from Night 0 - Night 2. I haven't looked closely at TH up til now because 1) I've read him as town based on his baddie meta from Firefly and 2) there have been bigger fish to fry for me.
Night 0/Day 1/Night 1
He starts out suspecting and voting Radish but then moves to vote nutella. The only thing he says about her is he thinks she would be angrier if she was town. Says to stay the course when Jack starts backing off. Also says Dom is bussing her (I don't know where he got that). Night one he makes it obvious he still thinks Radishes is bad (calls him Badishes) so I'm not sure what made him turn and vote nutella.
Calls G-Man good and Colin bad with no explanation. (He says sometimes he doesn't get into specifics because he wants to see if others see what he sees. I guess this is an ok reason but I don't believe in this method.)
Makes this post about Michelle:
Gives a black list of in order: Michelle, Colin, MR, sprityo, sloonei. I don't understand why MR has fallen down the list. I guess Michelle rose up because of his distancing observation. I don't know why sprityo or sloonei are mentioned (he says "vibes").
Day 2/Night 2
He asks Jay to review his Michelle observation so at least he's interested in other views. Says he sees Jack, Mac, Jimmy and Dom as town. Pretty good list except for Mac. Shushes Dizzy saying he's asking too many questions - I think questions are always good so I don't understand the shushing. Within 2 hours he votes Colin "because he's bad", says he's still down for a Radish lynch, and votes Michelle. Two hours later he's back to Colin. I don't see any reasoning for the Colin votes. He finally gives his reasons after I ask him, saying:
"his reads don't feel genuine, specifically when he called out Michelle. I think he's leaning a little too hard on the "I often get mislynched" card."
From here he makes his observation about the Mac post:
He gets into a back and forth with Jack about Mac's turnaround on nutella and Jack, and he ends up calling Jack bad. I also thought the turnaround Mac made was odd because it was so sudden and showed no progression and I definitely wasn't seeing Jack as bad at this point so this is not a gl for Turnip Head imo.
Dom asks him who he would vote if suddenly Colin wasn't available to vote and TH avoids the question, posting a meme. I don't think this is a gl.
Then he votes Jack with this post:
TH voted MR it looks like right before the day ended. This was probably the result of vote consolidation so fine.
Reads sabie as town but imo sabie is hard to read early.
Answers a question re: who would be on Radish's team? with Michelle and Jack. I don't agree with either of these but to be fair we know Jack is peeked green now which we didn't know then. I know somewhere around this time I had a bad gut feeling about Jack myself.
So a mixed bag. Overall my biggest objections are the Michelle distancing observation and his lack of providing reasons for his votes, and in fact refusing to provide them in at least one case. From a positive standpoint he named Radish as scum right out of the gate and I don't think that was a bussing maneuver. I'll finish this read up tomorrow.

I understand what Nanook says here but I don't understand the "write with a different angle" from Turnip Head. I think the point Nanook makes, which Turnip says is the answer, is not terrible. It doesn't immediately raise suspicion for me.Turnip Head wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 1:16 amThat's exactly what I think. I will point out that later TH apologized to Dom for not answering his questions but that doesn't help me understand why he wouldn't answer it.Turnip Head wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 11:54 am [VOTE: Jackofhearts2005] aubergine I don't like his unwavering suspicion of Mac and I especially don't like his reasoning re: Mac's changing opinion of Nutella

Turnip Head on MacDougall:
Gripes, starting with colored stuff:
Yellow: TH isn't merely defending Mac, they're telling us what Mac's instincts are. How should they know? That looks bogus to me.
Orange: TH's read on Mac is standout; the language they used and confidence they expressed were one of a kind in his posts. And there's close to nothing to justify that confidence. What follows is as much as there was:
Burnt orange: The read is heavily predicated upon Mac's flip of his nutella read. First of all, the entire premise that this is something mafia don't do is just balogna. Of course they do that. They do it all the time. Second, assigning that assessment to MacDougall of all people is additionally hard to believe. Mac is capable of just about anything, and one needn't play many games with him to determine that. Third, even if one accepts the premise that this was a "good look", it makes no sense to me for the look to be so good that Mac is rendered beyond reproach.
The read looks fake to me.

Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Night 4]
Inferno!
With the Architect's nightmare Lassie defeated, and the Architect fled back to the Anti-Monitor, Kind Dedede was able to use the Star Rod to open a portal out of the Inception dream world. They came out in a strange world that was mostly paper and flames.
"Oooh, this is my world!" cried Harriet. "Its still here!" The smiled widely and beckoned to the rest of them. "Come on, I can get us some scrumptious scones and missile launchers!" As she began to run off, however, the flames near them began to shift and form, into a giant Anti-Monitor!
"You may have defeated my Architect, foolish heroes, but it was not without great cost!" He lifted a giant boot and smashed it down, scattering the group. "Little do you know that you will simply be undone from within!
That fool The Master is like a cancer, dismantling your pathetic attempt to survive my onslaught!"
Harriet looked around to see the heroes, bewildered and burning, as a dark shape was about to take advantage of the situation. She cried out, as did her three cats beside her, and there was a confusion of motion and flame and shouting, with the flaming Anti-Monitor effigy laughing cruelly. Abed came running out of a nearby school with a firehose, shouting, "Take THIS!" He blasted the giant right in the chest, dousing the flames quickly, and proceeded to spray the hose around at everybody, stopping them from burning, and stopping any nefarious actions that were taking place.
No one has died!
Day 5 has begun.

I was wrong but my read looks and feels authentic, you even said so yourself earlier. It wasn't until Mac actually flipped that you've now started calling my reads "disingenuous" and considering my contributions to be "nothing". I will pull your quotes if I have to. I can see now that you were being opportunistic at the time when you called my read of him authentic, and you are being opportunistic again after his flip, calling my reads "disingenuous" and "nothing".JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 10:12 pm Turnip Head on MacDougall:

As you saw in the quote you lol'd, I was favoring the lynch that I had more confidence in. You'll also see a wealth of me shitting in Mac's corn flakes at various other junctures to include when he was in line to be murdered instead of Radish (before the eventual lynching wagon overtook him late).Dom wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 10:39 pmWhen I was the loudest voice against Mac where were you with this?JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 10:13 pmI also dislike this post in particular.Turnip Head wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 8:18 am The case on Mac is top notch cringe mainly driven by Sig's woman scorned persona
Reducing suspicions of Mac to this is disingenuous.

I said your reception of Jack's suspicion looked on-brand. What I meant was that you were being a contrarian. That's your shtick.Turnip Head wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 10:48 pmI was wrong but my read looks and feels authentic, you even said so yourself earlier. When a player's alignment is revealed and I return to the posts to make new judgments, sometimes those judgments don't align entirely with previous judgments. That's because I'm a civilian without a single fart to give about this sort of irrelevant "consistency".
You may not be Mac's teammate. I don't know turbup. But I think there's a better case here than the one you have defaulted your prior defenses to: that you defended him. And it needs to be considered.

I don't fault you for thinking so. I had more confidence in lynching both Radishes and sig. Killing them was my objective. Keeping Mac alive was not.
If you judge otherwise then that's the game. Oh well.

Review the brief exchange between us late in the night phase and then the Mac review I posted. I meant everything I said. I am suspicious of Turnip Head. Beyond that I don't know what to tell you.
