Re: Escape From Russia [Day 2]
People were town reading her mostly because she boldly called out the common TRs in a genuine tone. I don't think that's enough to get all the town creds she even received in the first place.

You voted Long Con, tedxtr [right after calling him lock town] (also, you mentioned a bait or something, would you like to expand?), arete.
Any reasons behind these votes?

Re: Escape From Russia [Day 2]
Michelle could be flying under the radar- I said previously that I like her snark, but from the skimming I've done, it looks like a lot of what she's posting has been on the defensive; I find that townies tend to brush off accusations a lot more than wolves do and tend to focus on what they can contribute instead. I found her towny for her snarky defenses (which is, in the sense, brushing it off) but since then she's offered a lot more detail in defense of herself, seems sorta obsessive with people who are scum-reading her. My gut still leans town here for some reason, but she's definitely the person I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to whom I'd be least surprised to see flip wolf. Nothing she's really done has been a brilliant shining light of town.Poison Chan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 12:36 pm @112 can you please talk about your current reads with some reasoning?
Arete - lowposting but not to the extent of WIlgy/TH. Has given mostly short posts and a few of them pinged me tonally. Waffling on Vul, although was apparently right than his tone has shifted from previous games, which could have thrown off their read. Not sure here but firmly within the PoE.
ted - I get the feeling that he's almost outside the thread when he posts--mentioned going after islanders, but seems to be on an island himself to me. I've seen glimpses of enthusiasm in his posts that I think would be hard to replicate as scum. Doesn't feel like his wolf self from what I've seen of his wolf self from Ambidals (although I died D1 there and was only loosely following after that). The town lean I gave him was spur-of-the-moment after reading a push I liked from him.
Vulgard - I have some hesitation toward this slot still. Not playing a bad game if he's wolf but also not playing a spectacular one imo, which I feel is why a lot of people are giving him a locktown read. His tone is off to me and apparently starkly different from his meta. Seems very ambivalent in some ways, which I could interpret as though he's afraid to make a push on someone. Lean town right now but could easily flip wolf imo.
I'll share more in a bit.

i do want to ask [mention]Vulgard[/mention] about this. vul, you said you’re absolutely certain arete isn’t mafia/doesn’t have tmi but at the same time they’re not like their town self. where does your confidence that arete absolutely isn’t mafia stem from?

I voted ted as a joke. And I didn't lock-clear him btw.
Arete is a highly PoE vote.

I recently showed scum behaviour of yours and you instead talking to me you chose Hally to express worries about me. This is nagl.
You said to Hally that you said open somewhere that you SR me but i didn't read all the thread, because i am too busy for this, but at the moment of my reaction you did what i said.
A bad sight for Hally's power towning i am 99% we are witnessing in this game is that townies can't keep up with her, i certainly can't so big chunks of the thread remains unread.
Idrc if you changed that after by fully SR me, at that moment you gave me the impression i shared.
No evasion, sorry to disappoint you,
OTOH, if you feel like i could know anyhting about your playstyle, i don't. I reacted at wolfy behaviour both times.
Is wolfy to beat around the bush and not being straight in your approach. You have a problem with me and want to solve it by talking to Hally. No matter how do you exlain it, is odd.

Part of me thinks Ash is wolfing, but the brain in me says he wouldn't be able to put together a game like this in his 5th ever were he wolfing. His thoughts seem highly insightful and hard to replicate in a wolf game. Has made wall posts, long reads lists and the process seems to check out to scrutiny.

Re: Escape From Russia [Day 2]
the most simple explanation is that they give thoughts without advancing too much and not interacting with what's going in on the thread at the moment they're in it.
basically completely disconnected players that let conflicts arise and don't weigh in AT ALL. Why is it bad? Because I think we keep getting tangled in T/T arguments.
Arete = only attempted to read Vulgard and didn't have other thoughts or moments where we can see she's trying to solve the game. She jumped on TSP as soon as the case on him arrived but didn't do anything else.
LC = engages in fluff, stays out of conflicts (Michelle / Poison, Ash / whoever, TSP / Ash)
Not pretty sure on LC but Arete doesn't really look like she's trying to solve the game and the Vulgard progression is kind of left open in order to keep poking at it but she keeps pushing the same details that she already should've solved from. Arete keeps asking Vulgard why he writes academically when he already answered and it doesn't read like she's trying to solve him based on it, just to keep conversation going.
(wilgy poast to be continued)

I'm mostly talking about my reads that could go either way right now as opposed to people I outright townread without an asterisk. I don't really have strong wolf reads this game--maf is playing well.

Re: Escape From Russia [Day 2]
Arete is just trying to stall her progressions as much as possible from my point of view. Her dragging the Vulgard thing on is prettay wolfy, just call him wolf or town already.
If you don't have him as wolf or town, then interact with people that do and ask why.
She doesn't really seem like she's interested in figuring Vulgard at all.

His thoughts seem highly insightful and hard to replicate in a wolf game. Has made wall posts, long reads lists and the process seems to check out to scrutiny.

Re: Escape From Russia [Day 2]
i will say that the only thing really holding me back from killing arete is vul’s read. they’ve been really pretty underwhelming and i do agree their focus has been really narrow. this isn’t what i know arete’s town game to be but im also going off their champs play which may not be an accurate comparison. and they also said they have school now sotedxtr wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 1:01 pmthe most simple explanation is that they give thoughts without advancing too much and not interacting with what's going in on the thread at the moment they're in it.
basically completely disconnected players that let conflicts arise and don't weigh in AT ALL.

I would not trust him tbh. He is like the hardest to read even when I played so many games with him. Fools me everytime.

Re: Escape From Russia [Day 2]
I feel like arete was mostly on Vulgard content wise, her other posts weren't much to give town creds either. Even the Vulgard reads were uh idk neutralish.tedxtr wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 1:03 pm Arete is just trying to stall her progressions as much as possible from my point of view. Her dragging the Vulgard thing on is prettay wolfy, just call him wolf or town already.
If you don't have him as wolf or town, then interact with people that do and ask why.
She doesn't really seem like she's interested in figuring Vulgard at all.

the number of people familiar with TSP's meta saying things like 'WHY ARE YOU KILLING HIM HE'S ALWAYS LIKE THIS' is making me kind of nervous
also I obviously don't want a rand
but killing a 2-poster seems kind of mrrr
but I kind of think I might do it anyway
wowee
Ok, so here's the deal
this is a very bad EoD especially if wilgy is wolf (or maybe TSP /shrug)
no way are you worried about TSP flipping town here ; you were questioning people why they had him villa an hour ago
you also said you weren't gonna be here for EoD
I find it very unlikely a villager would come back to move here. They had no reads on anybody saying TSP was town, I don't know how them voting a 2 poster over TSP makes sense in any world. I don't know the wagonomics, but immediately seeing this I thought it was a defence of either Wilgy who got bombed with votes and TSP wagon left the station and TH was the fighting wagon.
The comment to Nanook may give it away ; I read it as some type of self-awareness trying to be brushed off by making forced thoughts / jokes. Like what's that post doing? What's it's purpose?

Re: Escape From Russia [Day 2]
yea. and its even more problematic because like 90% of what arete has done has been focusing on vul and yet i feel like they’re read is basically the same as it was when they started. i would like to see arete branch out more and develop reads on otherstedxtr wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 1:03 pm Arete is just trying to stall her progressions as much as possible from my point of view. Re: Escape From Russia [Day 2]
Nanook's stance on TH was obvious - he wanted her to die, so she was probably looking to keep nanook's progression in check and assure he still has that opinion even after Arete voted.

Re: Escape From Russia [Day 2]
im curious what vul thinks of teds points against arete because i do think they’re valid and also things i noticed but ive just kept mum about them because im trusting vul and arete to sort each other. but arete imo is pretty underwhelming
