My issue with Nutella here is that I've had basically no content as is normal for me, and yet somehow she's giving a pass to other posters with similar reps (Nanook, Wilgy, et al) and apparently can't formulate any better reads on people with far more content. I am her *only* wolf read, and all I've done is shitpost as usual. My one bit of content, at a stretch, is a mild and brief back and forth with falcon where I felt he was being hedgey and forcing a push on me (and I stand by that, though I don't know it's AI for him) and that's apaprently enough to have her decide I am not only a wolf but her *only* wolf so far.

It's an opportunistic nudge and she's not disguising it well enough.

Fun post. I like it.

I've largely vibed with both sloonei and tutuu who are strong town leader types and somehow the rest of the thread is against me, it's weird

Sloonei's push on me felt similar to Phighter's push on me from the most recent mash: reasonable, but also from someone who I thought would know better. The former part is why I've been hesitant to call it scummy. However, Phighter ended up being scum in that game. I'm surprised Sloonei circled back on me as we got to EoD. With that said, he was right that I hadn't really shared many of my reads, which was why I had started posting reads before EoD. (By the way, I hadn't realized the day was endeding when it did. I thought I still had another hour)

I'm in a conf bias dive of sloonei's iso and like a page in I'm convinced this is a hit.

We have almost 24 hours to go and I have no intention about getting more active...but based on my limited participation I am not feeling it on Hyena and would oppose that chop. Made is...meh. If things are the same as they are now with an hour to EoD I would start pushing Nutella probably, just to see if the Made push is serious, then go with whichever seemed bedt choice to push past Hyena.

After the lack of response from Made to my post + the vote Made made on me, I wanna pursue him. I haven't really gone looking for anyone else to pursue yet though. Starting to do that right now with people I haven't really looked at yet, like MR.

So you dismiss mine, Syn, and Made's pushes on you as OMGUS then you do this? I get the feeling you care more about surviving than solving the game. Like, Made is a really convenient push for you at this point.

Hyena here and the recent posts is trying to be as transparent as possible to look towny, either too obvious of a wolf or a clumsy townie, something similar to what Michelle did when she forgot who was in the game. It's not wolfy, but they get no townpoints for it either.

My questions can be overbearing, and sometimes that’s partially the point. It was the first time. But this time I feel like I am asking a pair of straightforward and reasonable questions as part of an early dialogue in the game. I do not think my questions are vague at all, and I am not trying to be difficult.

You said you think Mac looks different than he usually does. I don’t see it and am asking for elaboration. Maybe there’s a linguistic divide here. I am struggling with your assertion that Mac “isn’t trying to be taken seriously” as part of your accusation. I see the behavior you are pointing to but I don’t see A) why it’s unusual for him, B) why he would need to be trying to be taken seriously as town, or C) what precisely it means if he is not trying to be taken seriously. There are lots of motives for floating less-than-serious reads on Day 0/1 of a game, for instance.

I definitely believe her in the sense that I do not think there is a universe in which Mafialison makes that claim in her first post. But, yeah, I hesitate to accept that she will not pose any threat to the town’s win condition, or that she has not concealed things from us.

Can people who played Shadow Corridors talk more about how that role works/worked?

Nutella reads me very well. She is one of the players Mafia Sloonei worries about the most. She has gotten better at discerning the differences between my town and scum games recently, and catches me most of the time when I’m bad.

As such, I usually gauge my read on her through her read on me. In this game she treated me with some initial skepticism but came around to a town read before long. I feel like I’ve been decently town to this point, but not in the hyperactive and undeniable way that I am capable of. If nutella is a mafier here, I feel like she keeps up the skepticism a bit longer, either to keep me off balance or to earn my trust by challenging me. That she town reads me for a more subdued (by my standards) town performance thus far is a good sign to me.

This is a good read and is sorta something I noticed to, but at the same time I feel like Nanook is more insidious as mafia than this. I feel like Nanook has a great understanding of their town traits and nothing in this game would have pushed Nanook into struggling to do that if that was his goal. I also don't like how willing everyone is to sheep my read on Nanook or look to me for guidance there and I am sure at least one wolf is among those who voted or pushed nanook after I did.

What are the hallmarks of a town nanook game, as opposed to his scum game?

Nanook as mafia commands more than Nanook as town but it becomes more obvious as the game drags on as you can see his postcount slowly become larger comparitive to the rest of the game, and influential towny voices are replaced with more Nanook in the thread. Nanook as mafia will generally just play optimally, push weak town, distance teammates, lean towards SPK if he feels that he can.

This does not describe his current behavior as far as I can tell. Do you suspect him right now?

Inbetween me arriving and making my second post. I don't know the full context, but Thunal writes a defense, and Dyachei skips half of it and focuses on the emotional content. I don't know if Thunal is actually suspicious but it makes thunal look towny from an outsider's perspective.

Wasn't Cat shading Syn for most of D1? Why did he suddenly shift to calling him towny? Also, I see what Mac is saying now about Thunal and the anti-spew. I'll analyze it later though, because I recall Cat having similar interactions with other people. I think I put more faith in my ability to read and analyze his earlier posts since he wasn't being heavily scumread as he was later in the day -- specifically, I think he's more likely to go into anti-spew mode later in the day than earlier. Thus, I think I'd trust my earlier read on Thunal (that she was town) based on the early Cat post than any anti-spew argument.

When I saw Dya's flip I said one of the people who burried Cat with cases is wolf, because one should be dead if were both villagers.
But if one would be dead today and the other alive unitl day 3, then who would be alive would have a huge problem. Maybe not best explained, but yes, Sloonei makes sense as well as you sir, but you have the advantage to be the first to do it, so that increases the possibility to be Sloonei.

usually how i'd read thunal in turbos is by the depth of her thought and aggressiveness in pushes. in here, she kind of goes for a push, starts talking about other things and then moves her vote. i don't really see any progression from her on the slot that she's voting at all either. it's kind of like, place the vote down, say why you did it, talk about something else, rinse and repeat. in other games i think there's a touch more investigation going on and relentlessly chasing the read down.

I think she's got a more formal tone and lacks her solving spark

Arguments for me being a wolf:
-I don't have the motivation/solving spark as in other games
-My tone is less emotional and more formal
-I'm not pushing people as hard

I don't see why you get to that I'm a wolf from those. I'm putting as much effort in this game as I can (probably more effort than I can at some points tbh) and I feel badly that it's somehow not showing. I'm moving back to school and I also have a lot of work to do so I'm stressed out and can't focus on this game as much as I can for most games. I'm not super excited right now because my mind isn't on this game, it's on going back to school. My tone being stiff/formal is completely normal for me (as you can see if you skimmed the town games I linked, but I don't think anyone did) and it's unfair to compare turbos to normal games.

My issue with Nutella here is that I've had basically no content as is normal for me, and yet somehow she's giving a pass to other posters with similar reps (Nanook, Wilgy, et al) and apparently can't formulate any better reads on people with far more content. I am her *only* wolf read, and all I've done is shitpost as usual. My one bit of content, at a stretch, is a mild and brief back and forth with falcon where I felt he was being hedgey and forcing a push on me (and I stand by that, though I don't know it's AI for him) and that's apaprently enough to have her decide I am not only a wolf but her *only* wolf so far.

It's an opportunistic nudge and she's not disguising it well enough.

I guess I'll just continue my hard defense of nutella then.

Nutella has not given a pass to Nanook at all. She made a big post about why he's scum earlier in the phase and spent a lot of the early-early game pushing him. I think she's also been on the wilgy wagon at times, as evidenced by the post I just asked her to follow up on. So that part of Radish's argument here falls flat for me.

I would not disagree that focusing predominantly on low-content players in such a busy game is not the best look, though. If I have a criticism for nutella here, it is that. But, in the case of nanook particular, I felt her argument was more nuanced than simply "low activity bad." I can't say the same for Radish and Wilgy.

@nutella is there anyone you think is flying under the radar who deserves more attention than they are getting so far?
