Fingersplints' posts look fine and towny enough, but sometimes it's in a too 'safe' way, so it could be an act. A couple of her Marmot posts could end up being somewhat relevant:

I don't have a lot to say about most of these posts on an individual level. Marmot didn't do much with AL until the very end of the day phase, and AL did exactly nothing with Marmot until the same period (and perhaps nothing even then). In the end, we're left assessing vote patterns, which I tend to loathe.

Marmot placed a self-preservation vote on AL. I believe in that moment Marmot held a 6-3-3-3 vote lead over AL, Tony, and ted. So take note then that he voted AL among the three to emphasize that as the 6-4 counterwagon. AL's own vote came later, when the poll was tied 5-5 between Marmot and AL himself. Rather than place his self-preservation vote on Marmot to give his premier counterwagon the lead, he voted for ted instead. That made the wagons 5-5-4. I think this is at least a teammate-compatible vote considering the strength of Marmot's role. If they expected to lose one out of two or three possible members, I suspect Marmot was not the one they wanted to lose.

I'm not exonerating AL_sama. He can be Marmot's teammate and is a high candidate.

I thought it was convenient that Odd found it necessary to claim the very role that Alison can verify just because of a cop-connection in a show that I think is somewhat about cops? My read on Oddmerta is a bit of a product of my other reads. A lot of my town reads have to be wrong about Oddmerta for him to be mafia, and I don't think he's that suspicious myself anyway. If one of my town reads that has vouched for Oddmerta ends up mafia, perhaps that'll be something to revisit later. For now I'm fine with him.

Strawhenge is probably the easiest read on the board for me. His posts radiate the purity of a player returning after five years away from Mafia with a town role card, uncertainty about how to get into business, and an admirable motor to do it anyway.

I'm a huge fan of the Odd reasoning tbh. It reminds me of synthetic CDOs. You're betting (reading) on other peoples reads and hoping it all falls in place. Is there anything in Odds content that makes you believe he's town?

I do agree with this. I also think if Straw randed wolf in his first game back in five years he would be playing a little more conservative and not sticking out his neck like he did earlier today.

TSP and Bo I think are town due to volume and content. Bo in particular seems extremely comfortable and fluid here to an extent that I've never seen from himn, and he's been the Day 1 yeet in multiple recent games.

From Marmot's side this is an extremely chummy dialogue. I think that makes sense; I view Bo and Marmot as similar Mafia play personalities. It figures that they'd get on as bonafide silly billies. None of this makes me feel inclined to dissociate the two of them. I highlighted one comment that could be meaningful, but I'm not entirely sure how it's meaningful. It's a frivolous town read, but one that had also been growing increasingly popular for Bo. I think it's possible enough that this was solely a matter of riding the thread wave, and as such I don't take much from it.

A few things have thrown me off from the beginning but his current vote for Marmot is something that inclines me to think that way as well. My feeling about you was regardless of my feeling of Marmot. It was that you switched from having 'good vibes' to 'not good vibes' after Alison said Marmot was part of a scummy exchange. The timing seems really convenient.

My only experience of marmot is that he is silly when mafia and pretty serious when town. My sample size is only three games so I acknowledge i need more data.

I'm playing a game of mafia where I'm surrounded by players of a higher skill level than I. If enough players conclude something that I don't see eye-to-eye with and they're right, then no I'm not concerned.

I put a big row of equals signs in there to sort of cordon off a specific portion of interest. Strawhenge first noticed this exchange, and it's a somewhat curious progression. Marmot had done very little prior, and during this brief period he'd actually started to make Real Posts of a sort. That's what turned off Bo, and it came right on the heels of Marmot getting a little shit from Alison. It feels like a bit of a reach to call this "damage control" or something like that, as an effort to distance, but it's reasonably possible. He talked about this a bit when I prodded him (highlighted in orange). The rest of it up to and through EOD is kinda nothing.

I can't clear Bo as a Marmot teammate. Gun to my head I probably say no, but for the moment I don't have a gun to my head.

I still think tsp is most suspicious, but I think Marmot doesn’t look great, and I’m ok with that lynch as well. A lot of my suspicion of tsp stems from their talk of Marmot such as suspecting jay for voting their before calling their read on Marmot null and finally moving their vote their abruptly.

That's it. And I actually think it's a somewhat telling post. It's 48 minutes pre-EOD. I had missed it in my AL review because my search was thrown off by the question mark. fingersplints' suspicion of TSP was in part driven by his treatment of Marmot. It's a reasonable mindset for splints to justify having Marmot as the "okay with that chop as well" option between the two. Marmot's response looks to me like someone talking to a non-teammate, as much as a two-word post can at least. Whatever AL's association with Marmot, I get that impression. If AL is not aligned with Marmot, then this looks like aw, but what about that other counterwagon? as some feigned investment in the hunting interests of someone semi-threatening his safety (in a way that I don't think traces fluidly back to a mafia chat). If AL is mafia with Marmot, then it looks like a smear designed to make splints look compatible with AL.

It's one post, so grain of salt blah blah.

Up to page 24 now, I don’t agree with the suspicion of Jay (from TonyStarkPrime) and Alison (from staypositivefriend).
Both seem pretty townie to me right now.
TonyStarkPrime’s seems more flimsy out of the two, but I still have more to go. We’ll see

A few things have thrown me off from the beginning but his current vote for Marmot is something that inclines me to think that way as well. I also just don't think his iso is carrying the proper tone and I'm wondering if his read on sloonei was developed improperly. He also also seems hesistant to say things that I wouldn't usually think he'd be hesitant to say. I did like the post he made where he talked about sloonei/jay mutual TRs and how seriously they're taken or something though idk

The talk of jay’s tone and being hesitant both of which I’m not really seeing. Not really sure I understand the Sloonei comparison as a negative. They’ve always played kind of similar to me so it’s not really something I find suspicious.

I didn't really get that from TSP's post in regards to sussing marmot from the voting comment with marmot/JJJ, it read like he suspects JJJ for voting Marmot. It's worth noting though that TSP elaborated later that he didn't have a read on Marmot.

That makes more sense. I was confused why they would want to follow someone they suspected. I still don’t really like the vague suspicion of Jay, and I’ll need to see more about his later comments about Marmot that you mentioned, because I’m still not sure why if you don’t have a read on someone a vote against them would be a factor. But I’ll see how it’s explained as the thread progresses

Tsp - gut read but the exchange with him and odd was peculiar a couple of pages which I didn’t really understand. His read on you which fingersplints brought up implied he had a bigger read on marmot than just null

If you read TSP posts they are a bit all over the place in their feeling on Marmot. Suspecting you for your vote on Marmot, next calling their read on Marmot null, before voting for Marmot themselves.

Posts haven’t seen especially townie, but not my top suspect. I wouldn’t be opposed to the lynch, but not sure I’d be ready to vote there

Here you get a little more of fingersplints' thought process regarding TSP and Marmot. I view much of it as tangential. She featured Marmot on a pseudo POE list alongside 8 others, "tied" for second most suspicious behind Tony. That doesn't do anything for me. The last post there shows her own response to the thing I talked about in Marmot's spoiler. It's a small moment and interpretations may vary, but I don't really think this looks like fingersplints talking to her mafia teammate.

Overall I'd say they're "technically compatible", but it doesn't feel right to me. She would be a secondary or tertiary Marmot teammate suspect.
