How do you read falcon?

falcon started the game in his first 15 posts or so screwing around. He placed some naked votes, but it's hard to call them serious engagement. This seems to be the first moment where I can see some kind of solving mechanism in a post (prodding me for a read). I was never entirely clear on the exact nature of Alison's initial suspicion of falcon, but perhaps that was it. He didn't do much at first.

So like I felt like u saying “u bamboozled her” as mafia before and simultaneously calling her town was a good look and not something I’d see mafia doing, I like your tone and responses towards her and they felt towny in nature.

Alison’s being super aggressive and yea ok could be a wolf in power, but this early in the phase and this vocal more often than not comes from a towny imo

This is an important stretch for falcon given the relationship with Sparkles. falcon's initial reception of Sparkles dismissing his combat with Alison as town/town is similar to my own, albeit stronger. He dropped one of his token naked votes. He moved it again 18 minutes later after a brief exchange with Sparkles. Sparkles' commentary gives me the impression of someone who is talking to a player that needs this explanation; that is, I see an effort to be convincing here. That might be particularly important given that this is Sparkles responding to a neutral comment, not even to falcon's vote for her. It doesn't feel like the stuff of partners.

But now I'm anxious but I don't know if I should go with my meager OW read or leave Sparkles where she is

Also, all of that being true, I think this post is pretty towny imo. If I'm a wolf doing this is pretty bad because my vanity vote was doing nothing for me, it doesn't mean Sparkles is less likely to die, it doesn't mean I get any bus credit, etc. Fmpov at least it's obvious I was intending to do this with how I didn't know OW was a wagon, called my read on him meager, switched off it pretty easily, etc.

This was the consensus POE yesterday, so sure. The key component, I think, is in having town reads of everyone else. It is true that earlier in Day 3, falcon had made an argument in Marmot's favor here. He had an exchange with Sabi here that does not explicitly indicate a town read, but could theoretically feed into his internal progression. I'm not as clear on the other town reads (Wilgy and myself) that lead to this POE.

This is a bit of a mixed bag, albeit with a reasonable brunt of that mix airing positive. There are some micro-level things that can be construed as concerning, and in a game with only five people alive that's inherently more meaningful. Gun to my head I would call falcon town. Regardless, I would greatly appreciate any discussion from others on the matter. Sorting everyone has to be a collective task.

(1) I mean that falcon was accepting of Alison as a town read with little resistance or exploration. To suggest that Alison of all people is town for aggression is rationale that I would describe a thin or "soft".

The reader is left to interpret on their own what he is doing and how he is doing it, with some exceptions. One thing I think is decent for falcon is that the more important progressions (e.g., his view of Esooa into Day 3) are the ones he gives greater clarity in the game thread. He doesn't necessarily have to make everything explicit.

The case would have to be of the on-the-nose variety: he voted outed wolf, which invited Nanook's follow, and in so doing created a significant counterwagon to Sparkles. Then he fell off given his surgical needs. At this stage of play it's something that should be considered.

Worth exploring

At a glance, one difference between the Sabi of that game and the version in this game is the absence of analog to a fervent defense for a player being mischopped (or really any kind of enthusiastic defense). There's not much evidence of serious investment from that previous version of Sabi in promoting a read of their own -- even some suspicion of Mac kind of faded when it didn't stick. That's contrary to their defense of lucy and suspicions of Alison and Esooa in this game.

Put another way: they were more passive in the other game as mafia than they seem in this one.
