Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 2]
You know what I love--players telling me how I should play the game. Seriously. It's my favorite. Almost as much as when people say that civvies deserved to be lynched.
I wish I were bad--I find being bad much easier, but here we are. I'm civ. I wish I were able to help the civvies win.
If I'm lynched, go after Kate and Bea next. Scotty isn't making me feel great. Llama may also be a baddie--I keep going back and forth on him. And Dr Wilgy needs to stop licking people and hiding behind his goofiness--it is making me increasingly suspect him.

Michelle
Quin
Tries to guilt Sloonei into backing off by saying Sloonei is "better" than gut reading him.
Tacks on To the LoRab suspicion.
Votes LoRab
Overall Read - Not a whole hell of a lot of individuality to go on. The long LoRab post is detailed but is more "please explain" and less "This is proof of baddie behavior". Tough to get a solid read out of any of it.

Hey, I went back to read Scotty's case on LoRab and found something interesting. He quoted this.
LoRab, could you speak as to why you'd have us look at those two specifically if you flip civ?
LoRab 'not thinking about bea and kate until tomorrow', which in the moment I took as a statement about the fact they were insanified and our old school policy of not lynching people who couldn't speak in their defence (and I think this is an accurate read of the meaning of the statement still). But she has also now said that's who she specifically suspects.LoRab wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 7:29 pmNot really. I’m not thinking about bea and kate until tomorrow. And really wanting to know what happened to bea. I have more players I feel good about than am suspish of. Which makes sense in terms of numbers, but is annoying. Not wanting to name who I feel goosed about because don’t want to help mafia. And not convinced the game secrets don’t contain weirdness that makes the allegiances less obvious than they seem.

[VOTE:
Quin] aubergine for the sole purpose of self preservation.
I indeed don't believe in going after people who cannot respond, as part of my own mafia playing ethics. And yes, I suspect them both. I think a good move for a mafia team is to control the posting of a teamate on night 1. She was quick to vote for me today and should know better than to see my play as evil. (unless it was a forced vote)--but in general, I'm not seeing civ-Kate. Bea--her tone is off.Golden wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 6:35 pm Hey, I went back to read Scotty's case on LoRab and found something interesting. He quoted this.

I am uncertain what to do with LoRab. I agree that her frustrated outburst seems sincere. I am also wary that she is perhaps the easiest target for suspicion in this thread right now.
But I also cannot help but be underwhelmed by her play. And I vaguely recall her expressing similar frustration after being correctly identified as mafia one time several years ago.

Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 2]
OK so the sloonei/quin thoughts I had earlier.
Sloonei gave me pause in my voting for Quin with his curious and strong insistence. I don't hold the same town read as Sloonei does based on Quin's posts in the thread, but I did think through the worlds that would make Sloonei so defensive of Quin and come up with the following thoughts. (worlds are S/Q)
T/T - there are roles that could lead to Sloonei being strongly defensive against a Quin vote. Or the possibility that Sloonei just has a good read, but Sloonei's particular insistence on quin as top town read makes this feel a little less likely. It doesn't hurt that, before the Quin defence, I already read Sloonei as hinting towards a possible world where his read of Quin makes sense.
T/W - in this world, Sloonei has no info and he's just radically mistaken. Still seems quite plausible.
W/T - Sloonei is going all in on preventing a Quin flip, with the hope that Quin flips anyway and Sloonei gets cred (seems unlikely).
W/W - Sloonei defending Quin so wildly that no one would suspect him of being wolf if Quin flips? Feels exceedingly tenuous to me, I don't think people are so willing to come out with a town read in a case like that.
I think the most likely worlds based on the thread behaviour I see are:
T/T
T/W
sizeable gulf
W/T
W/W
Or, in other words, I felt good about sloonei before, but I feel extra good about him because of the way he's handled Quin. And I don't plan to vote Quin today, because I would feel stupid if he flipped something where it was immediately apparent that sloonei was doing everything he could bar breaking the rules to tell us something obvious.

Only week ones. After Quin, the people I am most uneasy about are probably DH, sig, bea, and G-Man (undecided on Lorab but willing to give her a pass for today.) @thellama73 @LoRab @Vivax I read Quin as town and have spoken about it at length. I do not expect anyone who has not been persuaded by my argument thus far to have a sudden change of heart now.
But we do have an hour and change remaining. Rather than trying to convince any Quin voters to change their minds about him, I am instead interested in hearing if they have any other strong suspicions. I am still lacking clear suspects myself, so I would like to explore new options anyway.
LoRab, I understand your vote is self-preservation. Do you have any thoughts on the individual players that are voting for you?

That kind of post is a very traditional old-school pre-lynch post. We all made them as any alignment in the early days. I see LoRab's play primarily as a true representation of what it was like playing on STV and Rev Mafia.

Can I get the bullet points of why you’re uneasy about all those folks?thellama73 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 6:53 pmOnly week ones. After Quin, the people I am most uneasy about are probably DH, sig, bea, and G-Man (undecided on Lorab but willing to give her a pass for today.) I'm reading everyone else as pretty civ, except for DFaraday who I have no read on, because he never posts.Sloonei wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 6:46 pmDo you have any off-the-radar suspects who we have not spent much tome talking about?thellama73 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 6:44 pm Cranky Lorab feels like a frustrated civ to me, as does Golden's little tantrum earlier. I'm happy with my vote.

You just continue to make up narratives that aren't there.DharmaHelper wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 6:54 pm Very funny to me that Golden can look at Dr Wilgy and say "Yeah this seems like a great person to vote with"

No that's just everyone else.thellama73 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 6:58 pmNot reading your posts wasn't a reason I suspected you. It was just mental self-preservation.DharmaHelper wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 6:56 pm And I thought not reading my posts was the most transparently fake reason for suspecting me

I think we are just asking you to actually play, not tell you how to play.LoRab wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 6:20 pm You know what I love--players telling me how I should play the game.
Thank you for at least giving us some reads even if there isn't a lot of explanation with them. I find myself thinking the exact opposite of all the players you mention.
Banners are cool, but a pain to scroll through so...
I've won a lot of games. I've hosted some games. The end.

Golden "Why would you say I'm voting with Doc that is made up."
