Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
It could also be
1. Randomized kills
2. Other teammates sending in kills
3. Michelle was asked/allowed to out in nigjt actions
I’d say we can’t look too deeply into the kill in terms of being alive it was clear Scotty was going to be the kill imo

Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
How do the hosts normally deal with this stuff in the current era?
Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
Eloh and Wilgy are solidly town for me.
Golden is heavy town I still don’t get why he ever thought sloonie was masons. I was under the impression sloonie was the vote switcher if he was a civ lol
Sloonie/vivax exist in the potential mafia camp, but like murky more tin foil world.
I don’t know if I think mafia sloonie would’ve taken a step back when he did vs a town sloonie who saw the game going well.
Vivax is uninspiring as a whole BUT a mafia vivax wouldn’t have pushed the vote to tie it into Dead Red vs Quin. + I still liked NAA d1

I haven’t played since GoC so a bit Rusty but I want to say they do remove mafia members from the BTSC and would randomize kills. Though it’s just as likely DF jumped on last second
Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
My only two issue with a DF vote are
1. He’s been gone since Phase 4 and I know historically he’s not super active but having no activity is a weird look
2. His day 1 lacking if voting now given his level of participation that’s a bit less of a silver bullet reason now than before but it’s still there. I’ll add on this theory isn’t as good with Michelle flip either
Big pluses for it
1. Gmans interaction. Discussed by Scotty
2. Scotty’s general read on him
3. The lack of mafia movement/power this game. Given our current state in the game it doesn’t seem like they’ve really controlled any votes or been super motivated (no offense mafia) I think this could point to a less active team with lower moral.

Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
@Sloonei i see you whatcha thinking? Should we lynch you or df first
Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
Also @Elohcin early call out of Michelle further makes her look cleared to me. If she’s deep wolfing than damn I’m forever voting off or killing Eloh on day 1
Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 6]
This does push me away from Sloonie/Vix given Scotty’s role I’ll probably ISO through and see if there are any hints about who may be his partner.
His main three were DF, Wilgy (only/mainly if Michelle was good) and golden (tinfoil)

Do what you will.
I am doubtful that I can make significant contributions this phase. Maybe tomorrow evening will be free, but we shall see. My schedule settles down a bit after the weekend, so if the game is still happening and I am still here, I can finally do that thing where I slam dunk my final resolution hours after everybody else has solved the game without me.

Wilgy, you’ve followed sloonei’s votes a lot this game, that is to say you’ve been voting in the same place as him often rather than that you’re sheeping him.
I’d like to know whether that’s coincidence or something else (trust, tactic… whatever it might be).

Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 3]
DF would be my choice for today. This rationale from before the Michelle flip should support that.
Vivax wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 3:46 pm Can't really spot any concerted effort to save G-Man around End of Day.
Bea vote sticks out as townie, at first glance. I think for a Feb team that doesn't want to stick out too much voting together to save him, G-Man is the more logical choice. With the best choice being to vote off both wagons.
Michelle feels less opinionated than during D1. The DFaraday push could be such an attempt at placing a vote away from G-Man and also not Sloonei.
It's a weird interaction between these two, actually. It's really not the angle most of the game was looking at, and they seem to feel a bit too safe in this bubble where they push each other. DFara openly admits to not reading the reasons behind the wagons, but somehow finds Michelle interesting enough to read. Maybe he was just reading whoever was pushing him, but then he'd have had to read the thread?DFaraday wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 7:50 pm I don't suspect either G-Man or Sloonei, and I won't be able to read the cases on them before the vote closes, so I will go ahead and move my vote to Michelle, on the grounds that I feel less town about her than anyone else really. As in, nothing has stood out as civ.
The banger here is that Michelle didn't vote, so for DF to notice her, he'd also have had to run into posts describing reasons behind the main wagons. So this could be grounds to campaign for a DF lynch tomorrow, as it feels like he's lying here about what he read.

Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
I see Wilgy already voted and doesn't mind the occasional tinfoiling on him
Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
DF is definitely the most straightforward answer.
If he isn’t mafia though then things get a bit more tricky
The biggest play against Wilgy is he threw the vote away from Michelle (dead red) onto Quin. But, I think Quin could’ve weathered another day better than Michelle so that doesn’t make any sense.

Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
Agree, the EoD and switch was NAI at most. The simplest explanation is that we're both town for playing around with our votes in a SvS wagon situation. An extra night of alive dead red is hardly going to cause a magical turnaround for them.sig wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 11:41 am DF is definitely the most straightforward answer.

I think DF is a good vote for today, the only most likely to be mafia imo. But, have we cleared wilgy? I still think the last mafia is a low poster.

Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
I’d put him in my towncore for his votes. Unless he’s heavily wagoning on his teammates he’s a civ.
I’d say if we get to F3 and keep missing it might be a relook But until then I’m trusting him.

Legacy wise it’s a bit messy as Kate sussed Sloonei and SVS Wilgy, but am optimistic that it’s over with DF.

Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
I think it's DF. I did comparative analysis yesterday and it fits.
I want to be motivated to revisit everyone, but my 6 year old has a tummy bug and spending two hours of my afternoon doing this only to find the game is over anyway just doesn't appeal. One of those ways in which my relationship with mafia has necessarily changed from what it used to be.
So I'm just gonna get the vote I know I'll end up making anyway out of the way now.

In a game where I was mafia in I think the night before lylo, G-Man did a gambit where he dared the killer to kill him (knowing that if he was alive, he’d get lynched), and said if the killer didn’t kill him, he’d call that person ‘coward’ for the rest of time.
It’s Economics mafia if you want to go find it. Probably my best ever performance as any faction.

Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 7]
Vivax, reminding me of one epic moment in my mafia history, has made me feel like this is the moment to reminisce… I don’t know how much more mafia I have in me, and I feel like this might be the last game I play with many of my long time friends. So please indulge me a little.
@bea we talk often anyway, but I’m so glad we at least got to play again. I’m still expecting that co-host one day.
@Kate i did not believe I’d ever play mafia with you again and it makes me so happy that this happened! And this game made me remember why I missed you being around.
@S~V~S I’m so glad you subbed in. We’ve had plenty of tunnelly fights in mafia over the years but I wouldn’t have it any other way - I love your perceptive guy play and you are formidable as any affiliation. One of my great regrets is not trusting you more in Survivor, I think we would have gone to the end together if I had.
@LoRab youre a constant reminder to me of the Lost bond that brought so many of us together. Lostpedia may be the role in this game, but STV was just as equally a community built on the back of Lost, and I always feel a kindred spirit.
@G-Man i know I’ve mentioned this before, but you were somewhat of a legendary figure to me *before* my mafia career, given I’d seen you around on STV for so long. I love how fate intertwined our mafia identities to some extent through that one Econ gambit.
@DFaraday I’m not sure whether you were in my first game but, I at least remember coming across you early. We had so many’tone-setters’ in those days… mafia was remarkably kind… and you are one of them.
Speaking of kindness, Heiots might be number one. She retired from her mafia career without ever being lynched (or NKed maybe?) I remember asking her to sub in to a confirmed baddie role for me, as one of my teammates had to pull out and we needed her vote… but I had to promise her we had the win on lock and she wouldn’t die! I think that was superman mafia.
And I miss Sophie. And blindfaeth. And manu. And the dutchies. And Cfan and matahari and long con and black rock and flyin high and dom and more besides. These were good times.
Econ was one of my favourite games. Not only was it a fun performance, it was a bridge between classic old school mafia and new school. Role madness, with Jay teaching me how civilians could take solving to a new level.
I’ll never forget King Arthur. I wish we still had Rev Mafia to go back to. If Econ was my best performance, perhaps King Arthur was my worst, but it certainly set my early civ meta apart. Asking everyone to lynch me when I was literally King Arthur because I thought it could lead to mechanically guaranteeing baddie lynches the next day or two due to the Excalibur mechanic, only to discover the baddies had stolen my sword, if I recall correctly. Lol.
And there were others. My arrival as a civ in Superheroes, where we all played in socks and no one knew who I was yet. I remember there was a guessing contest for who was in each sock and the responses to who was in mine were very flattering… it cemented trust in me as civ for a long time.
Futurama as Fry. Biblical mafia, bullets over broadway, mooby… so many games with good memories. Some that I don’t even remember what game it was, just a thing that happened. I feel like ‘alive to win’ game conditions seared a lot of those early games in the brain, because you really wanted to solve but remain lynchable. I just couldn’t get the hang of remaining lynchable to begin with, I provided win equity to the civs in so many games I didn’t win.
And lastly, BSG, my hosting magnum opus. I never forget people who turn up for my games and I appreciate it, and people really did TURN UP for that one.
You know, after I played grease mafia 12??? 13??? 14??? years ago I was so inspired I immediately drafted Indiana Jones mafia. I still haven’t hosted it yet. Maybe one day!
Long live this third mafia career (no, short live it most probably… but at the very least I’m glad to be back here and feel happy to participate again and I don’t intend to completely vanish… I have hosting to do.)
Lastly @Spacedaisy my brain twin, thanks for inviting me back!

Btw I do very much appreciate all my friends from round two too… scotty, llama, Sloonei, marmot, Jay etc… but that’s not what this game feels like it’s about.
And I appreciate meeting new faces too! Come play more with me.

@Golden I'm glad I subbed in, too. It was so much fun seeing you all. I'll never forget your first game, even then you stood out. It was obvious you'd be a star! When I think of who I would call Greatest Civvie Ever, hands down, it's Golden.
And while, yes, we have had our epic one on ones, at the end of the day you have always been a friend. And re Survivor, don't feel bad, nobody trusts me
