A survivor shouldn’t claim ASAP.

The most useful thing most survivors can do for the town is to take a nightkill for them. By claiming early, a survivor removed this possibility and sets up a scenario where the town will take a nightkill for the survivor instead now that the scum knows not to shoot the survivor, which hurts the town.

Additionally, it is known that survivors are scum at mylo and mafia can false claim survivor.

The correct townie response to an early survivor claim (unless the survivor claims something like rezzer) is to lynch the player who claimed survivor.

Why the hell would I want to take a kill for anyone? What part of "survivor" fits with that?

And yeah I could help baddies on lylo. I have no intention of doing that before lylo though. You feel free to decide if I'm worth lynching or not. As for hunting with town, I can see a number of reasons to do that. First of all, it's fun, and there is nothing else to do here. I don't want to play another CC123. Second, a town landslide win would expedite the end of the game, which is good for me. Third, now that I claimed, I need you people on my good side, so not helping you guys is not an option. Fourth, I have a versed interest in finding the civs, since my wincon requires distinguishing them among the vanished ones. And fifth, if again a landslide win is happening, a bigger percentage of vanished people will be civs which again is good for me.

My plan was to play like a civ on day 1. If I got a civ role, no problem. If I got a baddie, I'd shut up about it and reap the benefits of being legit uninformed for a while.

Well that plan didn't work much, since people started voting menin droves in day 2. But getting a survivor role went against it too. A survivor should claim asap. So I did the most obvious thing and claimed.

A survivor shouldn’t claim ASAP.

The most useful thing most survivors can do for the town is to take a nightkill for them. By claiming early, a survivor removed this possibility and sets up a scenario where the town will take a nightkill for the survivor instead now that the scum knows not to shoot the survivor, which hurts the town.

Additionally, it is known that survivors are scum at mylo and mafia can false claim survivor.

The correct townie response to an early survivor claim (unless the survivor claims something like rezzer) is to lynch the player who claimed survivor.

Why the hell would I want to take a kill for anyone? What part of "survivor" fits with that?

And yeah I could help baddies on lylo. I have no intention of doing that before lylo though. You feel free to decide if I'm worth lynching or not. Normally survivors don't get lynched if they claim early because they are considerably less valuable lynches than mafia. Plus I'm giving people free candy.

The only thing you’ve done all game is put townies in front of you to take nks in your place or lied. You don’t actually benefit from catching baddies whether you are telling the truth or not.
