which side of the fence do you fall on?
That's an excellent question. I'm still struggling with it myself, but I find myself wishing I hadn't killed Wilgy. Honestly, it's the guilt that gets me. That and we could've just lost a very high reputation civvie. So I think I'm with the older players, and THAT is probably because I was raised by one of the older players and somewhere in there I was taught 'killing people is bad'. So, I would probably have Wilgy alive still.
can you elaborate on the feeling of guilt
what why? I think it’s pretty self explanatory.

Methinks you are just asking questions to appear like you’re invested :ponder:

this has the underlying assumption that seanzie is mafia, what's your read on seanzie and degree of confidence
Well I thought he was mafia yesterday and his end of day behavior didn't help that at all.

My thoughts on Dennis don't assume Sean is bad. Him placing the last vote on any civ wasn't going to look good since we (the civs) do know for certain one way or the other and they (maf) do. If I were on dennis' mafia team I'd strongly counsel him not to be the deciding vote on anyone who was a civ. Plus his actions seem instinctive, not like they were well thought out with other players.
I don’t get it. In what world is mafia Sean threatening to unvote wilgy and elim himself just no ensure an elim if he’s bad.
Threatening to do it and actually doing it are two VERY different things.
I just can’t square away a Seanzie wolf read at all at this point. I think there isn’t a single aspect of his game that makes sense as wolf.

What about his unvote on sabi when it was 5-3? Like, that’s basically the same thing as what he threatened to do, and he actually did it.
-He racked up a ton of votes by midday and no one was seemingly budging
-He refused to offer alternatives with any merit or explanation
-He remained aloof and simultaneously snippy at times
-His unvoting means nothing because he was already in the lead looking to croak. But doing so broadcasts “I’m not afraid to die, come at me” which is legitimate gambit that I see mafia do all the time.

But yeah; there’s not a single aspect of his game that makes sense as wolf
Is this last sentence sarcasm, just to be clear?
Not at all

I used sarcastic orange for that statement by the by

falcon45ca: I also don't really trust Golden, albeit might be for different reasons. His vibes don't strike me as hitting the notes of his scum game.

Scotty: Has been active and prodding, and also mostly harmless. I think of the townleans I have, his is the least strongest, but GTH, I do think he's town, and I have seen enough content from him to slot him here for now.

Matahari: Some of her thoughts that she posted in #529 lack direction. That is fine. But I get the feeling that she is pushing herself to talk about players when she doesn't have anything specific to say about them. Soneji in particular.
Marmot is a strange kill choice I think.

And I think in a vacuum Golden looks guiltiest only because Marmot was throwing mild suspicion

And boy do I know what bad golden does when people start suspecting him…
That highlighted sentence right there?

It’s not analysis. It’s an appeal to emotion of ‘golden was bad last game’ that specifically lacks analysis.

SVS expressed suspicion of me on day 3, she died on day five only when I had enough distance that it seemed viable.

You flirted with tinfoiling me but it was barely suspicion.

Fingersplints, llama, Kate, wilgy, late vivax… all town read me publicly when they died.

People who actually suspected me… sig, df, early vivax… they lived on. Thread pressure gave me cover for not being NKed.

I think town scotty would have thought about that with much more care.

I don’t want to talk about anniversary. You’re the one that keeps bringing up anniversary.

There never was an anniversary. The game never happened, so sad. :solitary:

But ok, since you bring it up, I seem to recall SVS harboring suspicion for you, which led to me suspecting you as a deepwolf after she died, and we both were killed off once you had the reins. On the other hand, Wilgy and Vivax were cheerleaders for you to an extent and you killed them too so…this theory sounds rather contextual.

So in rumination: would you in a team of 3 push to kill marmot mostly because he lightly scumread you and you were scared of him?

Maybe not tbh

I have this weird feeling mafia does have a couple inactives. Still gotta have somebody with a pulse on the game, but I’m just looking at the player list and don’t get bad feelings from a lot of the talkers:
Svs, Dennis (now), effing Golden, sabi, Kate, to some extent help me god Seanzie, even falcon.

There’s just so much bath water grey players in bea, Roxy, soneji, jack, Matahari, splints.

Like…3 mafia could totally hide in that group.

Svs, Dennis (now), effing Golden, sabi, Kate, to some extent help me god Seanzie, even falcon.

There’s just so much bath water grey players in bea, Roxy, soneji, jack, Matahari, splints.

Like…3 mafia could totally hide in that group.

Voted to push a civ over the edge.
this has the underlying assumption that seanzie is mafia, what's your read on seanzie and degree of confidence

Dude...

Scotty: Seanzie, Who is a good alternative? Sabi? Me?

Me: You apparently already know what my answer would be.

Scotty: Seanzie won't give an alternative.

Think for a second, what did I actually say to your question?

I'm saying that, mostly, I think. I am basing it on his game in Game 1. Early game he was kinda with his Wilgy shtick when he was even there. Then end game, he settled in and was very valuable to the town. He almost turned it around before the bads finally got rid of him. You can't base anyones value on Day 1, imo.

I actively thought you were probably NOT bad; I did not really have an opinion on Wilgy yet. But i didn't actively think he was bad. I didn't want you eliminated, I wanted more time to talk about it. But I also did not want someone I did not suspect eliminated, either. It was an available game mechanic; why not use it?

That's the end of my comments on this though since talking about this doesn't really find scum. We can talk more in DVC.

OK, imma start this, but may have to post it incomplete to go get ready for work. But no rainbow lists for me, look where it got Marmot. Maybe.

bea She didn't know the game had started, she started a job last week. I think she'd make more effort if bad, especially if one of the nubs was on the bad team; see breakout re OG's
Dennis Dennis is asking the right questions, at first I thought he was maybe being coached, but I don't anymore. Leaning more town than not
falcon45ca Gonna be honest, only have a passing 'no reason to think they're bad', I have to read falcon and get a more solid read. Loved his CLR joke.
fingersplints No clue, could be bad, could be not bad. I'd like to see her post more, or at all. See breakout re OG's
Golden He looks completely different to me to Game 1 (sorry Sabi). He feels like civ Golden to me, but I need to see more analysis from him to know for sure. I want to reread Marmot to see why he read Golden as bad.
jack shepherd Unlike most people, I thought as a twin, if he was bad, he might be more likely to not want to expose himself much with his brother here. The more civ Dennis looked to me, the less Jack did. Or he could just be disinterested. This game isn't everyones cup of tea.
Kate At first I wasn't really sure; she seemed to think some things contrary to what I'd expect, and seemed fluffier than normal. But that was likly proud Mama, and now I'm seeing more of her civ game.
lucy I have to reread here. I feel like I need to be a tad tiptoey since I have obvs come across as aggro to her. I thought she was bad, and would have left my vote on her if not for the chance to tie.
Matahari See breakout. She digs deep into posts and finds tiny nuggets of suspicion mno one else would see, I've only seen surface nuggets. I could vote here. I would def like to see more from her.
Roxy See breakout. I think Roxy was hoping for a bit of an old home week lol, and her and Splints are  . No real read, I don't feel actively bad about her, also don't feel actively town
S~V~S Bit of a bull in a china shop. She certainly doesn't mean to break china and hurt feelings, but she somehow still manages to do so.
Sabiplz See breakout.
Scotty He seems much more relaxed than he did in G1, BUT I joined that a few days in, so I didn't see his early game in real time. I'm kinda susceptible to buddying, so I'm wary, but haven't seen anything overtly bad so far
Seanzie Breakout. I don't always agree with his conclusions, but I still don't understand why he took such suspicion. He's engaging in good faith, and taking info from a changing thread into account.
Soneji No clue. I've only played maybe 1-2 games with them. falcons clr joke is the strongest mental association I have for Soneji.

OG Inactives: Several of the OG players seem to be ghosting a bit (or a lot). Could be since they're out of the mafia habit, they don't come here when they should be working like some of us  but someone, or a few someones, has said it's possible there is a bad in the inactives, and with so many of them, that's probably true. I really don't like bringing out of thread into the thread, but meh. Odds are one is bad, but if they don't post, who's to know?

Mata: I knew @Matahari was having surgery on her hand, but I don't know if that has happened yet. So it could account for not really posting much or in depth. If I find she is still two handed though, she jumps to the top of the list.

Seanzie: I don't understand the argument against Seanzie, as it applies outside of his interaction with me. Re his interactions with me, I think he either misread or misunderstood something I said, which happens to me ALL THE TIME. ALL THE FREAKING TIME. I say alot of stupid shit and it gets me in trouble. So a me thing. Thought I was bad and went with it. Then maybe reread me, or took my well reasoned defenses to heart (maybe I should put that in orange lol, most of my defenses consisted of, "NO, you're wrong. No Just stop") and changed his mind. I don't associate backing away from a suspect you have been notably aggressively pursuing as a baddie move  Unless he always comes out of the gate so aggressively as a baddie, I'm not sure I see it.

This is why I forced the tie. ^^ I wanted another day to discuss it.

Sabi: I have some mixed feels with them. I don't understand the aggro push on Seanzie, I get tunnels, I'm a tunneler myself, but their posts are not very detailed outside of their time with marmot. Also, I was glad to see that it wasn't just me who thought it, and that they are salty in general. Whenever I interact with them, I feel like an almost disapproving schoolmaster vibe from them. But I can be salty, too (Hi Lucy!) and don't have much of a filter on top of it. So perhaps that is coloring my read on them.

Okey Dokey, might be back before 6PM eastern, might not. Have fun happy mafia people!
