Oh wow, thanks guys! I don't really feel all that deserving since I never saw the show before. My wife and I usually binge watch TV show seasons over the summer. I'll see if she'll watch this show with me. Once I've seen it, I might be tempted to read back through this game to see how much more of everyone's antics make sense in context.
I do want to apologize for being AWOL for most of Day 3. Work was insane and our daughter gave us just four hours of sleep the first night of the Day 3 phase. We also had a birthday party to go to over that weekend. Life happens.

Re: [END] Arrested Development Mafia
I honestly have no idea how well my posts sounded like George Michael. I just went for stereotypical awkward teen filler phrases. Here are the notes I took off of the Arrested Development wiki:MovingPictures07 wrote:And... holy shit, G-Man, your roleplay considering you've never seen the show... and that video! That's the greatest thing I've ever seen. So awesome.![]()
Spoiler: show
The roleplay element of the game was a big plus for me because I could throw myself deep into it instead of coming up with one of my usual cheeky antics. I'm terrible at reading people and I didn't have enough time to truly digest what everyone was saying. I only ever read back maybe one page if that. Full re-reads would have been too time consuming but not doing so really left me flat-footed. I was pretty lucky that three of the four people I was completely neutral on and came to trust were civvies (MP, SD, & TH). I think I listened to TH more than anyone else. His support of MP held me back from pursuing his lynch after Metalmarsh went down. You guys basically pulled me to victory, so thank you.

I knew going in to this game that my vote analysis wasn't going to be very helpful. These setups are too short for vote crunching to be effective. Only one of my top three was even bad (Ricochet/Sloonei 2.0). It was still neat to see how useful it could be but it definitely takes a backseat to tone reads in such a small setting. Maybe playing more of these smaller games will help me improve my people-reading skills.
THIS! What are the odds that a cop would check all the civvies still living when it came to crunch time? Call it luck or call it skill, it was simply amazing.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:For Daisy to make it to Day 4 with ALL of her peeks still alive is perfect execution of the cop role. That's a very rare achievement in this setup.

Re: [END] Arrested Development Mafia
Having never watched the show before, I turned to the Arrested Development wiki to help me understand the role. I also turned to YouTube for help. This was one of the first videos of George Michael that I saw. It had to be recreated.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:It was physically painful to sit on that video for so long with no way to share it to the thread organically.G-Man wrote:I'm also glad there was a way to incorporate that video JJJ. Re: [Day 4] Arrested Development Mafia
Phew! Glad the baddies conceded because I would have run out of material for a Day 5. Turnip Head is right. I treated each day like a season of the show for George Michael Bluth. There was no eason 5 to this show, so I dreading coming up with original content. It probably would have been like bad fan ficton.
In other news, holy crap I won a game! That hasn't happened since Big Lebowski Mafia on The Piano.

Okay, I might as well cast my vote now. Both of Steve's Day 1 and Day 2 votes fit the bill for a baddie trying to keep a low profile. Goodbye Steve. Perhaps now I will finally have a shot with Maeby.

Re: [Day 4] Arrested Development Mafia
Please, I go by George Maharis now.
Now that I'm a college man, I don't feel so awkward. Maybe it was the friends I made, or maybe making love to a Spanish housewife did the trick. Regardless, I will post my vote announcement a few hours from now. I simply must eat breakfast to honor my father's memory.
Am I surprised that Steve Holt has voted for me? No, not really. I mean, I've had him on my list since the beginning, so a little tit for tat is expected. I admit that my youth and inexperience held me back in reading people early on. I hope that my vote analysis helps those who are more adept at tone reads.
I am curious to hear who Buster thinks are the bad guys. He implied that he and the Narrator were on the same wavelength and Buster never really made me suspicious. I mean, the hook hand is still really creepy but that doesn't mean he is bad.
Let's talk about who we think is bad first. Without doing the bote analysis, I feel the least comfortable with Steve, GOB, and Gene. I'll let you know if that changes after I spend some time with my data.

Re: [Day 3] Arrested Development Mafia
Wow, who knew the monkey bars could be so difficult? Embarrassed as I am to say it, it looks like I won't be leaving this family behind. Not yet anyway. I'm still holding out hope that I can join a band on the wood block but, you know, we'll see what happens.
Interesting enough, Aunt Lindsay also failed to register on my suspicions list Day 1 but I'm okay with seeing her gone now. She didn't make much of an impression and I just found out that she's not even biologically a Bluth. She's an outsider to this family, which makes me wonder if something larger is going on here. Dad always told me to remember three things: family comes first, breakfast is important, and it's not Aunt Lindsay's real nose. Maybe she got the nose job hide her ulterior motives.
I've got to get going. I'm hopping on a boat for Mexico in another hour, so I won't be back before the poll ends. Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow to see if this Narrator guy is correct and if we can break this mystery open a little further. If we're wrong today, we're more or less screwed.
Boy, you just keep on confusing me. The only reason I feel like I can trust this Narrator person is because he didn't register on my suspicions list Day 1. It could all be a clever ploy by him, Buster, and Maeby to fool all of us in grand fashion but that doesn't seem very probable. Neither Buster (despite the creepy hook) or Maeby pinged me at all Day 1. Maybe I put my blinders on because of that but I just haven't been looking for suspicious things out of those two in earnest.MovingPictures07 wrote:Spoiler: show

Re: [Day 3] Arrested Development Mafia
Man, what a day. The Banana Stand was destroyed (again) and all my Quicken files turned against me. To top it all off, I no longer have a father to awkwardly discuss my potentially inappropriate feelings for a girl. I'm done with this family. I'm going down to the Church and State fair and I'm going to find the recruiters and join the army.

Re: [Day 3] Arrested Development Mafia
I apologize for not being vocal during yesterday's last-minute voting free-for-all. I was at work- you know, the Banana Stand- and there was a lot of Quicken work needing to be done before the end of the day. I had my browser open and was really just following the votes. I was so busy that I had to catch up on the thread content after the lynch was over.Turnip Head wrote:I'd like to hear from G-Michael as to what his thought process was in changing gears from Mother, to Elohcin, and finally to Llama, making no effort to stop the lynch train on MM that you're holding MP solely accountable for.G-Man wrote:I'd like to hear from Annoying Voice-Over Guy as to what his thought process was in changing gears from Lucille, to Steve Holt, and finally starting the lynch train on my dad. Pretty weird how you switched from the player who ended up getting NK'd to a player who was suddenly deemed off-limits due to replacement, to someone who's last minute vote would have been the worst possible decision for a bad guy. I mean, what the hell?
If you thought MM's innocence was obvious, you could have helped save him by putting your vote on Wilgy.
I voted initially for Lucille because she was the only one of my top three suspicions that already had a vote. I switched to GOB first to see if I could attract anyone looking for another possible lynch train to latch onto in case there was a save attempt in the works for Aunt Lindsay. She actually followed my vote onto GOB. Then I switched to Gene and Aunt Lindsay followed me again. I jumped around a few more times to see if she would follow me. She followed me to everyone I voted for but Maeby.
I didn't have time at work- the Banana Stand, mind you- to post anything when they turned on my dad. He was in my second tier of suspects because there was a remote possibility that dad could have voted last-minute for Tobias for the WIFOM if he was protecting a teammate. My comment about his innocence being obvious is what you adults like to call a hindsight observation.
Screen shots for the data and Notepad to jot the times down. I did all the spreadsheeting after the fact.Turnip Head wrote:I'd love to do that but you didn't post to record any of your votes in the thread. I see you had time to put them in your spreadsheet though.G-Man wrote:Oh, and I wasn't following Aunt Lindsay's vote around at the end of the day. She was following my vote around. Go back and check. She said she was following my vote so long as it landed on someone she was comfortable seeing lynched. Worth noting is that she did not follow my vote when I switched to Maeby.
I'm not even all that suspicious of Snarky Voice-over Guy just yet. Just mad that he got my dad killed by hijacking the thread to suit his sudden impulses. I feel like I've had issues with him in this regard in a past life. Something about excited dogs, I think.

Also worth noting is this:
The people who didn't make a cop claim are the only ones dying so far. The bad guys also NK'd another non-cop-claimer. What say you over-analyzers of kills?
GOB, stop it! Do not burn down the Banana Stand! It's illegal, you know.

Re: [Day 2] Arrested Development Mafia
Another thing before more pageant prep. I think you guys might be, you know, over-analyzing Ann's death. In this small setting, the bad guys want to keep as many sketchy-looking players around to shield themselves from lynches.
1) Ann didn't contribute to one of the three main vote trains
2) Ann's vote didn't attract much attention at all
3) Ann didn't receive a single vote against her
To my young eyes, it looks pretty clear. Based on Day 1, Ann was going to be of no use to the bad guys. She wasn't on anybody's radar and was not part of the vote clusters that the bad guys probably expect us to analyze to death today. The fact that Ann didn't join the clusters probably told the bad guys that she was not going to be easy to sway in a pinch. In the eyes of the bad guys, Ann didn't look bad at all and was going to be hard to make look bad, so they decided to take her out.

Getting ready for the Motherboy pageant but I thought I would chime in.
If the disembodied Narrator voice is still lurking around plotting witty comments about all of us, can you give me a voice-over explaining the following:
Furthermore, how exactly did I go from being high on your good guy list to being mid-level bad guy? Have you been harboring suspicions of me all along or did something happen recently to shift my position on your list?
Boy, these costumes are itchy. This pageant better be worth skipping that camping trip.

With that said, I'm willing to blow my shitty cover and reveal that I do NOT have a confirmed check on Elohcin or G-Man. I notice players are suspecting Elohcin. I am absolutely terrible at reading her, but I have enough of my own doubts, and I don't want to continue my ruse to dissuade anyone who really feels she is worthy of voting today from doing so, based on no actual information.
I mean, I know I'm just a kid and all, but it looks like you admitted to lying about checking anyone. You claimed to have peeked (is there a difference between a peek and a check?) at Gene (thanks for clearing that up, by the way) and I but then in the next paragraph you say you didn't. Why even lie about that in the first place? I may not be used to these smaller settings but it doesn't add up. Re: [Day 2] Arrested Development Mafia
Lunch break here at the banana stand, so I, you know, wanted to chime in. I realize that in my excitement earlier that I forgot to actually post my suspect tiers. Here they are, if you care at all about a kid's opinions.
TOP TIER:
Steve Holt, Lucille, and GOB
These people are at the top for me because of my vote analysis. I could be wrong about it all but this is what over-analyzing the votes produced for me. It's mostly because every time GOB got a vote, someone came along and voted elsewhere. After Maeby voted for GOB, Lucille voted for Uncle Tobias, tying the two of them up again. After Uncle Tobias switched his vote to GOB in self-preservation, Steve Holt comes along and votes for Pop Pop. This catches my eye because the vote came within two minutes of the poll closing and it created a three-way tie between GOB, Uncle Tobias, and Pop Pop. A vote for Uncle Tobias would have pushed him into the lead and would draw attention. Voting for Pop Pop created a three-way tie, possibly allowing GOB to survive a three-way tie-breaker had my dad not voted for Uncle Tobias at the last possible minute.
SECONDARY TIER:
Pop Pop, my dad, and this mysterious person who hasn't made their identity known to us yet (people keep referring to him or her as Elohcin)
I keep my dad in my sights because he wouldn't let me do Spring Break and because he broke a tie at the last second, leading to Uncle Tobias's death. I find it hard to believe a bad guy would do something so attention-grabbing but you never know, right? Pop Pop is a possibility because I could be dead wrong about GOB being bad. After Pop Pop got a second vote, no one else picked up a second one for a while. Then Maeby voted for GOB. It's much less fluid as a conspiracy than GOB being bad but it's possible that. In fact, as I hear myself saying this, it becomes even less plausible in my mind. This mysterious Elohcin person could be part of GOB's team because he/she voted for Pop Pop after GOB got a retaliation vote from Pop Pop.
Okay, gotta get back to being Mr. Manager. Bye.

Okay, I'm on break at the banana stand for a little bit. Here are some thoughts.MovingPictures07 wrote:Thanks for the responses, Sorsha and Elo!
Elo, regarding your question as to why the baddies would AVOID killing the cop, yeah, that was my point -- technically it would be to avoid SHC (seer hunt clear), but I think that's dumb. :P Makes way more sense to try to knock out the cop ASAP.
Guys, I don't think Spacedaisy is mafia. I was trying to pressure her because I couldn't make sense of her D1 behavior in particular, but I've got a pretty firm read on her now, and I'm feeling confident enough to say that, yeah, I don't think she should be getting votes today.
I also don't suspect Maeby at this point and it's not just because, you know, she's my cousin. I made a two-tiered list of suspects after looking at the votes (which is still limited in its usefulness just yet, I admit). Maeby wasn't in either tier. If anyone thinks they can build on my vote analysis with, you know, observations and stuff, be my guest. That will only help make any cases stronger.

I voted for Tobias because the case against him was made by Buster. While his hook hand is creeping me out today, I trusted his judgement yesterday. This is going to sound really weird but I feel like I knew him in a past life. Maybe, you know, even more than one past life. In these past life memories, Buster made similar cases against people in similar scenarios to this one. In many of those scenarios, he was right in profound ways. I trusted those past life memories when voting for Tobias. It's difficult to, you know, figure much of anything out on the first day of this kind of thing.
As for not trusting Aunt Lindsay's claim about Tobias- if multiple people are claiming others as good, why should I trust any of them? Maybe that's just my youth and inexperience showing but if only one person can make a true claim and multiple people are making claims, then why bother trying to figure out which one is right? It comes down to each person's word in a situation where lying is encouraged.

Re: [Day 2] Arrested Development Mafia
I know I'm just a kid and my opinion doesn't matter much to my family members but I think Ann was a pretty sensible NK target. The only person gone out of the Tobias, Pop Pop and GOB vote clusters is Tobias. Ann voted for a tangential (I just love sneaking in math terms) option. She was made the only vote for Buster once Tobias switched his vote to GOB.Turnip Head wrote:Zebra didn't try to clear anyone, so she makes for a really strange NK target
Ann's vote wasn't likely to be, you know, scrutinized as much as those votes for Tobias, Pop Pop and GOB. We're probably expected to analyze those vote movements so much that we wouldn't notice Ann. I'm a little guilty of this already. By killing someone we wouldn't have noticed today, the killers are keeping the maximum number of bodies around from those vote clusters for them to hide in.
That's my theory. Just tell me if I'm out of line and I will go back to Quicken and trying to write love poems that aren't so awkward.

Re: [Day 2] Arrested Development Mafia
The three I am most pinged by (it's a technical investigative term) are GOB, Lucille, and Steve Holt. It's curious that every time GOB got a vote that, you know, someone came in and voted for someone else. I know it sounds crazy but it could be that one or more people tried to shift the spotlight elsewhere or halt any GOBmentum.Spacedaisy wrote:Yeah, that's what I meant, emanci-whatever you said. Whatever gets me away from my self absorbed mother. anyway, who do you suspect?
Lucille tied Uncle Tobias with GOB by her vote. Also worth noting, I think, is that Steve voted for Pop Pop at a time when most discussion was on GOB and your dad. Steve's vote came after a third vote for you dad but Steve voted to create a three-way tie. If teammates, Steve's vote give GOB a better chance at surviving a tie-breaker while also avoiding the attention that would come from breaking a tie near the end of the day.
What do you think about that? I have to go learn some more Quicken before our movie.

Okay, so I can't vote for Steve because my dad voted for the moron jock already and I don't want dad to think we're on good terms again. I can't vote with Maeby or Ann because they both voted for people I'm related to by blood. Voting for that annoying disembodied voice that keeps making comments about us is pointless because he doesn't have any votes right now.
I guess I'll vote for Tobias. You're only related to me through marriage, you lack direction and responsibility in your life, and Buster is right that there's something very inconsistent about you.

Wait, what? The moron jock? Well, alright, I can't say no to you for some reason.Spacedaisy wrote:That's great! Then I'll just leave it here with you to finish for me, I've got big plans with Rick Oche tonight so I can't really do it myself. You're the best!G-Man wrote:Oh, sure! I'm voting MP because I think it's too easy for him to hide behind the guise of the narrator to just recap rather than add anything. Speaking of adding, George Michael, can you help me with my math homework?
Maybe I should vote for Steve after all. He's just so wrong for her. Maybe if he's gone, Maeby will notice me on a deeper level.

That's okay, Steve. All you ever talk about is yourself. And from what I hear you're really good at playing with yourself. I mean by yourself. Heh, either way really.Ricochet wrote:Lucky you, having a family to put your trust in. I've no dad. Oscar Bluth
With only two slots open, who do you think makes sense to be hanging around? Someone already claimed they were Annyong, I think. I may indeed have to vote for Ricochet if everyone else here is related to me. I can't imagine turning on my family like that. Maybe I should ask my dad what he thinks I should do.

I don't want to be rude but Ricochet sounds like he might be a moron jock. He might get my vote today. I don't want to vote for any of my family members just yet. I'm not that rebellious.

Re: [Pilot Episode - Day 1] Arrested Development Mafia
Wow. Okay, so we've had a couple of people claim to have had a Day 0 free check but only one of them can be right, right. I mean, I guess they could all be lying if the checker is keeping the information to his or herself.
Why do grownups have to lie so much? It's very confusing for a kid like me.

What? Oh man. Since I'm not sure if you're related to me, I don't know if I should feel ashamed or just awkward. I'll split the difference and feel embarrassed. Host- is it summertime in this game? I need to know if I have to get to school or the banana stand.Metalmarsh89 wrote:G-Man wrote:I'm worried that this might be some kind of crazy scheme, but I'm willing to go along with it in an effort to not break the trust of any of my family members.Turnip Head wrote:I really like G-Man this game, which is perfect because he was my good guy peak on Night 0No one should vote for G-Man.

What do you mean 6:30 pm? The day just started. Breakfast is one of the three things my father always emphasized. I think you're confused but I won't hold it against you. And I'm on my phone and don't know how to do two quotes in one post, but...
Why is G-Man eating breakfast at 6:30pm? Lynch him guys!

Re: [Pilot Episode - Day 1] Arrested Development Mafia
I used to think my family always had the best intentions in mind but the older I get, I'm not so sure. It's liie the kind of uncertainty you feel when you're pretty sure you like someone that you're not supposed to like. Does that make sense?Turnip Head wrote:It is a scheme, G-Michael.
