I know I've been in them. It's pretty difficult to town when some people are completely unreadable but I just didn't take my last couple games here all that seriously (except after I lost the last one).

Also open role madness is usually pretty townsided especially with only 3 mafia so I think town has a good shot at winning despite the inactivity.

Gosh
Right now I don't have a good read on you. But also I'm actually going to sit down and reread the thread to get more solid takes.
I'm going to revise this. I don't feel that good about you. Why did you agree with DDL's take that Wisdom said she was maybe town when that wasn't what she said?
Scotty wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 7:49 pm
Dragon D. Luffy wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 6:22 am Wisdom saying that maybe they are town is irking.
+1 because I thought the same thing on reading. Comes off as busybody nothing agreement
Scotty wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 8:38 pm I don’t mind this Roxy counterwagon. Her approach so far isn’t accusatory of anyone, and without giving away too much (so she doesn’t influence what she does) isn’t hitting the notes I usually associate with town Roxy.

But she’s barely entered so I want to give her time to simmer

Wisdom, however, has plenty of posts and most come off as filler posts.

I especially found it odd when they started getting SAUCY about being a D1 leading wagon as town when only 1 person had voted for them. ‘I’m never wolf in a game where I’m lead wagon on D1’ is definitely a statement. Sounds like a wolf upset with garnering suspicion and trying to fend it off early with some actual facts.

But it could also be said that it is possible to find a Wisdom as wolf on D1 in a lead wagon situation, yes?
This post also felt off to me and I typed up and retracted a couple possible reasons why. I was bothered by the red line and it might be because I've seen wolves do this when they're worried about villagers they're pushing clearing themselves through emotion.

However Syndicate culture is super different from MU with how people react to others getting frustrated with suspicion so it might not be a valid point here. I've seen a lot more people here get suspicious because someone gets frustrated and a lot fewer people here clear someone for frustration.
Ah good catch

To answer your first point, I linked to the wrong post- I meant to link to DDL’s immediate post after, not the exact point of Wisdom saying they were maybe town. ‘Maybe’ the wolf curse being broken felt disingenuous and agreeable with regards to responding to you saying you’re on a streak.

To answer your second point, I’m not even sure how to parse. You’ve ’seen wolves do’ what? Suspect others because they are pointing out their own metas? I don’t trust other people explaining how they’re supposed to act as a certain alignment. I’ve done it as a wolf. It’s setting up plausible deniability when behavior is different than normal.

If Wisdom was actually leading a wagon or even had a real wagon going, I wouldn’t bat a dog lash.

But that’s not the case here. It comes off as preemptively putting up the for sale sign after driving the boat off the lot

This is more of a symbolic vote and I don't have real interest in killing Scotty today. I don't want to kill him d1 when the mafia might just kill him at night for being active if he's town.

I'd pick Roxy to vote out of the current wagons.
Tale as old as time lol

You know what would really irk me in these games goddamit?

If the mafia killed off the non/low posters. Man, that would really grind my gears and I wouldn’t stand for it

Jack and falcon have no town equity either.

Vibe feels:

Dunya, DDL, Thunal, Daisy feel towny
SVS around the same feeling with wisdom is nice and that’s probably towny too?

Syn could very well be third party. I was mildly joking but now I think I’ve talked myself into this narrative so I’m running with it

Nook for some reason feels slight town even though it’s been like 2? posts.

Moto, jack, falcon, jibay- post more. No towny vibe yet. Same for roxy, though I don’t much care for the current content.

Le petit is le manquante

Lime Coke is almost on par with Long Con. Very similar blendy feel actually.

Wisdom still a fine vote for kill in mine eye

Such an odd list

You'd think the Maf outnumbered Town this game...do I recall Scotty tossing out such player salads D1?

Perhaps he has and I don't recall...it really seems out of place here tho IMO

Honestly, it's nothing to do with alignment and entirely due to recent gameplay. I've been such a no show, I'm hoping engaging in conversation with people more will help me stay engaged, despite having other responsibilities too.

Well there is the case.
I thought the curse was over two weeks ago when I randed town in a Org game
Then I randed wolf in a mash last week and in the turbo last weekend
Randing town now gave me hope, but it's not enough to claim the curse to be over!
Hi Wisdom!

I think you're town right now so that's cool.
Is it just a vibe thing, or otherwise? I've never played with them, and that one post felt manipulative to me rather than salty.

starting some paperwork I'll be around at points today.
for your second post in the game to be inquiring about no-shows, feels a bit bossy and disgenuine imo. like, i didn't even know day 0 had started and showed up on day 1. feels a bit like busywork to me when day 1 is still not even halfway through.

also the rules say to PM the host and not tag him in the game if you want to ask questions so feels doubly disgenuine-busy-work to me because you know he won't qualify that with an actual answer.

negative points
I want to hear from her about this. Rox is usually the first one to extend low posters some grace, especially on day one, so i found this surprising for her. The fact that she asked the host question could just be breezing in/out; I find that bit NAI.
dunya wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 3:14 pm @Syn what's wolf about scotty
I'm curious about that, too. All of his posts were day zero. Generally Scotty is chatty regardless of affiliation, and fairly aggressive either way. Silence is something I'm not used to seeing from him, and can't interpret. He has not played in some time, so it could be related to that. I need to see game related posts from him.

So I'd like to see what Syn is seeing that I am not, or if he's seeing nothing and put that out there to gauge reactions?
Wisdom wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 6:55 am If I go with my gut on page 1, Syn's the only wolf that's been online.

Mostly because I recently finished a game with him where he was obvtowning right from the get go, mainly because he seemed to have a fun time

I don't really have a good track record in reading him though, but at least he's not as towny now as he was then.

Vote##Syn
That ^^ feels a bit like equivocating; "well, I sus Syn the most, but just in case he gets yeeted and flips town, here's my excuse for voting for him".

So I saw nothing else to catch my eye aside from Wisdom. I have a few people I have clear town feels on, and most I need to see more on topic posts. So I'll drop a vote there for now [VOTE: Wisdom] aubergine. Like I said up there ^^ that one post felt manipulative rather than salty, but I'm not married to this vote, since this is my first experience with Wisdom.

Welcome @Jibay !
You're free to vote me if you want, you don't mesh with my playstyle, that's fine
The Syn thing I say in pretty much every game I play with him (cuz it's true), so it's NAI at best. (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthre ... 2053861617 is an example)

I think the real reason is that Friday dinner = exhausted parents = easy food, and taco is easy to make even to picky children
We didn't eat taco at home when I grew up tho, mostly because we didn't eat dinner on weekdays and if we ate something on a Friday it was likely cheese and crackers

I forgot what reads I made yesterday but apparently it was Thunal and DDL town which is exactly my reads now so that's hopefully a good sign
I had Lime as town but that might have been a stretch
Dunya gut town? She's a strong wolf tho, hopefully I'll be able to read her properly later
I don't think Ruffy is a good vote but I don't know his meta, usually that kind of aggro is towny tho
Syn feels null atm, no clue
Falcon is the one who's pinged me by how little content he made from his posts
That applies to Jack, JB, Motobot etc too tho

With 11 hours to go I wish I had a winning PoE already, but I'm simply not there yet

what makes you feel he's not having a fun time in this game?
Lack of words and jokes really!
He can have fun inwards tho what do I know, are you a good Syn-reader dundun?
in general, yes. it's easy to tell when something is off with syn.

in mafia, i can't say we've played enough games to be a good syn reader, he mostly hosts me and i play his games. i just didn't get the vibe he wasn't having fun like you did and wanted to understand what you saw.

Day one most people are null for me. You'll recall back in the day it used to be the thing that we only discussed suspicions. Now we also talk who we think is civvies (which I do but don't always love). But I pretty much never talk nulls, I just watch and try to form opinions.

You're null trending townie for me.

what makes you feel he's not having a fun time in this game?
Lack of words and jokes really!
He can have fun inwards tho what do I know, are you a good Syn-reader dundun?

for your second post in the game to be inquiring about no-shows, feels a bit bossy and disgenuine imo. like, i didn't even know day 0 had started and showed up on day 1. feels a bit like busywork to me when day 1 is still not even halfway through.

also the rules say to PM the host and not tag him in the game if you want to ask questions so feels doubly disgenuine-busy-work to me because you know he won't qualify that with an actual answer.

negative points
I want to hear from her about this. Rox is usually the first one to extend low posters some grace, especially on day one, so i found this surprising for her. The fact that she asked the host question could just be breezing in/out; I find that bit NAI.
dunya wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 3:14 pm @Syn what's wolf about scotty
I'm curious about that, too. All of his posts were day zero. Generally Scotty is chatty regardless of affiliation, and fairly aggressive either way.

I know that Wisdom gets suspected d1 a lot as town and I thought her reaction to it was towny. It resonates with my own mindset towards suspicion as town including RVS suspicion which is that I don’t like it and just want to solve without having to defend myself, while as wolf I sometimes enjoy the challenge of being under pressure.
I'm not sure what them being sussed alot has to do with their reaction here, I see they @ me but I haven't gotten to that yet. I used to read my @s first, but I lost context that way.

I haven't gotten to it yet, but why did you vote Scotty? I'm especially interested since we saw him up close and personal as a wolf in Lasso, and so far he looks pretty towny to me. I liked his long post.

I don't fully understand why people are piling on Rox, but if she is town, she's got a keen intuition for finding wolves and I'd hate to vote that early. I'm open to trying to understand why though.
She posted about no shows. It's unusual for her imo, but I don't really think it's AI at this stage.

Step 3: The Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns will never win a Super Bowl. This fact, while not directly related to Scotty’s wolf status, serves as an important reminder: just because something seems possible doesn’t make it likely. In the same way, just because Syn accuses Scotty of being a wolf, doesn’t make it true. Conclusion: Accusations, like Super Bowl victories for the Browns, are often wishful thinking.

You're voting him for putting out a reads list?

This is not unlike how i feel re Wisdom. I wouldn't go so far as "AtE", but they did feel manipulative.

Keep in mind majority of my townreads are legit I'm like vibing them town when I look at their posts.

I think like Dunya and SVS I'm mostly there and I can kinda trust my read on them on that basis alone since I got them correctly read in most of my games with them, though more of a better sample size with SVS.

Thunal I kinda just believe in her claimed town streak, and her mass notes post makes me feel like she's town even more.

No, not playstyle. I used to do some scouting, and I got yeeted day one at pretty much every one of the sites i played at due to playstyle, so i try to avoid that myself. I guess that whole convo you had with DDL made me feel like you weren't just bantering, it felt intentional, is the best way I can explain it. And that "Fine, just yeet me now before i get invested" post just felt like a string of :pout: :pout: :pout: to me. Maybe a bit performative, if not manipulative.

Even this post has that feel for me, like I'm sussing you for personal reasons. It's more tone than playstyle.

It's not what you're saying about other people, it's what you're saying to them, if that makes sense?

I am kinda intrigued by your vote for Falcon. I kinda agree with it. He has made a few reaction posts to things other people said, but he softens each post one with a joke, like

Deduction applies a known prinical to arrive at a conclusion, induction uses observations & evidence to develop a theory

And science is many things, but careful is not one of them

Just ask Marie Curie

[VOTE: syn] aubergine
I just read his posts in iso, and he interacts with several people, but doesn't actually say anything. This feels more like bad Falcon than noble Falcon. Thunal feels towny to me for the most part, and I will trust her judgment for now, and see if I'm not confirmation biasing you. So Imma switch from voting for you to voting with you.

I was gonna stay parked on Roxy for most of the day but someone posted a quasi-angle shooty reason for why Roxy's inactive hunt post makes sense coming from here so I gotta leave before this wagon grows.

I was already feeling LC was blendy before his awkward attempt to pocket dunya, now I just wanna yeet here.

Too many posts this AM. One more, I have a bitchy day at work today, so I may or may not have time to get back in here and EOD is as I'm clocking out. Have fun happy mafia players!

Not really...blendy I just wasn't posting because my head wasn't fully into getting into the game.

And the Dunya thing.... I just do that with Dunya normally.

I'm also open to yeet Falcon even though my streak reading Falcon correctly is like 0% but his shading on the salad was meh.

Might go back to Wisdom too.

Fair.

I'll be around to see what other people think of this.
