And I think I most likely won't vote for Epi, I think he's civ though not quite as confident as I am on sprityo.

That leaves DDL, DH, Dom, Quin, and Speed.

DDL and DH are high contributors, I lean town on them but I think there have been a couple things that made me feel iffy about each of them, but unless something convincing comes up I'm much less likely to vote for either of them than any of the remaining three. Dom I never know what to think of, he could be anything. Quin... idk, kinda suspicious from yesterday but I'll have to reread. Speed, I'm really waffly on, there have been some really good points against him but I have found his points in defense pretty compelling.

So it's probably between Dom, Quin, and Speed.

Jeff Probst is a GoC sock. I have a theory that we're gonna be stuck on these tribes until he dies.

....with a grain of salt
If target switchers and such
plus look at the rules:

4) You may not target someone on two consecutive nights unless your role says otherwise. Some roles will have their targets randomised if you do not send a PM, so if you want to make a tactical choice not to use your night power, please PM the host to check first. All targeting roles need to send a PM to both golden and juliets at least two hours before deadline.
Not very likely
On Night One but possible
analysis moot?

Am I really doing that?

Hey y'all,

I would ask that we all please take care with our words and ensure that the things we say are strictly about the game at hand, or if they aren't, that they are of a friendly nature (indeed all posts should be). The game is young; let's enjoy the whole of it together as we always have before. :)

If anyone has anything they'd like to get off of their chests, shoot me a PM.

I asked about Epi's theory in good faith. I wanted more information and discussion.

I made the following posts.

do you have opinions of people who are on this team.... or ideas on how this relates to our team..... or a way to explain to me that I'm missing something obvious?

Because, otherwise....
I also made this post.

Rob's reaction to these things was to say I mocked and dismissed him, saying I was stuck in 2014 and he's become a better player blah blah blah.

None of that answers my questions.

And that is something one who cares about finding mafia should consider.
Expound upon this. Why should I care whether Bloops is a Night 1 target or not? Who would target her N1, in your estimation? Mr. "Don't just say stuff"
nijuukyugou has never been, in my experience, killed Night 1. She also does not get lynched early, and she likes poetry, so I assume she would have sent in a poem. That means, if we accept the other tribe had the same haiku lynch protections in play, she would not have been in danger of being lynched. That means her BTSC partner would have been under no pressure to tip his or her hand (the rules notwithstanding). In addition, in my experience, nijuukyugou does not typically have a good reason to vote one person or the other Day 1.

Therefore nijuukyugou was a kill that happened because whatever discussion happened in the other tribe was comfortable enough discussion for the mafia faction. It was a clean kill that wouldn't lead to anybody, and one that was unlikely to draw the attention of any protective roles.

Given the above, I am looking for go-along-get-along people here.
Extrapolation
and more extrapolation
quite a jump there
You're going to have to get used to extrapolation. I have no other tools to worth with when considering the Night kill target given that I don't know what went on there. But I do know what nijuukyugou does 90% of the time on Days 1, and I know her in real life, and I introduced her to this site, so if I'm going to be comfortable making extrapolations, it will be now.

This was a kill meant to maintain the status-quo in their tribe. Book it.
Epi, I understand your theory, and it's a great theory.

I have two questions:
1) How can we test it?
2) What does it mean for us here on Team Pikachu?
I asked Rob these two questions. This was my first reaction to his theory.

This was mocking him and dismissing him, apparently.

It got this response:
Spoiler: show
Epignosis wrote: Tue Feb 27, 2018 12:29 am Dom, you amuse me. You and DH and S~V~S are here expecting stuff from 2015. I'm a better player, I think, because I've played a lot and clashed with other cultures. That's a good thing.

Epi bemoans that I dismissed him when I did nothing of the sort. I asked for what sort of actionable items could be taken in this thread on his theory. I'm still unclear on that.

He says that I'm suspecting him (citation needed, never once said that) because it's not 2015 and he's not pointing out punctuation errors. I said nothing of the sort.

But then again, here is he telling SVS what good writing is:

sprityo wrote: Mon Feb 26, 2018 9:08 pm Epi what benefit do we get from your thinking process of the N1 Kill?

Linki: status quo?
What benefit do YOU think we get from my thinking process? This is not a one-man show. Civilians should bounce ideas off mine rather than dismiss them as "extrapolation and more extrapolation" (of course it's extrapolation- nothing is ever certain).

I need other people to weigh in on what I offered, not dismiss it as DH and S~V~S seem content to do.
But you speak as if
extrapolation were fact.
not variable

Some killers like to
kill randomly, reasonless
harder to trace it

it is possible,
what you say about Niju
not enough info
I am not going to hedge my comments with empty phases like "I think" or "In my opinion" or "It is my solemn belief that..."

That's bad writing. When I write something, it should be understood that this is my opinion. My commentary on nijuukyugou was based on plenty of experience, but it should be clear that the conclusion I drew from that was my perspective. You are welcome to disagree with my perspective, which would be a healthier and more useful avenue of discourse than calling my commentary exactly what it is.

We don't have the luxury of info. It's Day 2. People have to talk about something.
So, Rob's incoherent game play is nonsensical to me. And apparently, I shouldn't question him because I didn't play his Mortal Kombat game.

It's not like that at all.

I've POE'd me a list for today. You're on it. So are other people. Who do YOU think I should vote for?
I'm getting kinda tired of being suspected for voting early. If I had voted for any of the other three on my list, I guarantee that I would have gotten just as much kickback. Votes are changeable. React, suspect, hunt, solve, instead of complaining that I clicked a poll option.

I get that you're busy, though, Dom. I will endeavor not to be sarcastic about anything there. I like playing with you. :)
You mentioned a suspicion of me on Day 1.... was that POE as well?

For the most part.

I think, at the time, I was listing players that I had no reason to think were town.

On the bright side, I'm wanting to move my vote rightabout now. :ponder:

I'm not that worried about it. If I stay alive, I can hunt. If I flip, my last posts/role will provide some good information, and I'll still be in the game.

Doesn't sound like you have a role that would give us much info upon your death, though.
speedchuck wrote: Sun Feb 25, 2018 10:17 am Hey Sprityo, it looks like it's a battle between me and you.

YOU READY FOR THIS!?!???

(actually, I don't want you lynched if you have a cool role, which you're acting like you do. Hm.)
You have posted one rainbow and absolutely zero posts that aren't about mechanics or defending yourself.

Care to elucidate?

No? Also I don't know how your quoted text is relevant. That was D1, and has nothing to do with my role.

I dunno, though. I get a little leery when people pressure a person, vote them, push them, and then complain when they defend themselves.
You also posted an absurd absolute there.
I have posted a lot of mechanics and a moderate amount of self-defense. I have also posted reads, both as a group and in response to others. Some of those reads have my reasoning behind them. Based on the posts in this game, where I stand on everyone in the game is more clear than anyone else's stand. Except DH.

I'm not asking you to elucidate on your role.

I'm asking you to elucidate on your reads.

The post about your role just seems to indicate to me that if you die we'll have "a lot to go on" seems a bit iffy.

I concur with Speedchuck on enjoying Dom being in here interacting too.

Is it really commonplace now for people to just dump their votes right before EoD without word one as to why? That's something you all have accepted as a normal thing, not at all even 1% suspect?
Unfortunately, yes.

More like, people vote early and explain it, but near the EoD they change it 2-3 times and only explain it after the poll deadline.

DDL? I said my vote was probably between Dom, Quin, and Speedchuck. Most likely speed I think. I'm pretty sure I was misremembering something about Quin, and Dom is looking town now as far as I can tell (he can fool me though)

Not sure what you mean about "interpreting" Epi? I have agreed with him, sure. I haven't answered questions for him. (though I do tend to do that kind of thing sometimes, I think it was either in Buffy or LOTR that Ambray and someone else got annoyed when I answered something about someone that they wanted to hear directly from the person, if I feel like I understand something that people are misinterpreting I like to provide clarity if I can)

colonialbob - I hate to say this, since he's my one buddy who has said he won't vote me today, but here goes. cBob has 20 posts. First, empty haikus. Then a vote on sprit. Then an easy suspicion on DH, which he backs off of with minimal engagement, soon as DH gave him what he said he wanted. Then an easy suspicion of me, which he quickly backed off of again. The reason I call these suspicions 'easy' is because they are not based on mafia motive. One was 'not playing optimally' and the other a 'slip.' cBob is trying to look like hunting without actually finding scum behavior or pursuing suspicions. [VOTE: colonialBob] aubergine

Dragon D Luffy - spends time earning points for fighting round robin. Has about the same amount of content as cbob. His is better-looking, but he has nearly twice as many posts. Compatible teammate for cbob.

Dharmahelper - Stubborn. Repetitive. Alignment indicative? The only meta I have in mind on DH is from Survivor. Not helpful. Compatible teammate for cbob.

dom - Dom has actually been doing pretty well today, aside from a couple of quibbles I have with his approach to me. I had no read on him going into today. For a while it seemed like he was engaging me, but now I feel more like he's making sure I stay down, burdened with this scumread stuff. Dunno. Nature of the oppressed, my read is biased. After reading the others, I'm happy to leave him alone.

Epignosis - I felt really good about Epi going into today. He engaged me on my mechanic speculation in a way that was pro-town. My speculation could have been used to discourage town, complain, or make empathetic arguments. He didn't do that. He countered and suggested the most pr-town way of looking at things IMO.
Today is different. Not gonna talk about it. Don't feel great about it. Not sure if read or not.

Long Con - Not on the poll, so I haven't been paying much attention to this read. I don't see any reason for him NOT to be scum. Doing a lot this game, though. I'd like him to be town.

nutella - town. Waffley, but town. Hard to say why. 90% certain.

Quin - I'm pretty good at tonereading quin, most of the time. I like him this game. His reaction to the lynch seemed very genuine.

speedchuck - town - 100% certain

sprityo - town - 85% certain

S~V~S - Her approach to hunting is the same as it was in Buffy, before she was recruited. I see the same thought processes and the same determination. In Buffy she fell off of that approach, and I thought it was because I was townfirmed to her and she lost confidence. Nope. She was scum.

I recognize that some of these reads are more substantiated than others. Deal with it.
