Re: U-Pick Mafia Vol 1 - Day 1
Dear Diary,
I was remembering a year ago how I came in second to Bryce. I didn't mind coming in behind Bryce, because Bryce is awesome. No doubt about it.
What I guess bothered me a little at the time was how Bryce got almost twice as many votes as I did. Twice! We had almost 400,000 votes between us. That's crazy! Not that he didn't deserve it, because he did, but man.
This is a new year though. I wonder if I could get the most votes this time.
A guy can dream, can't he?
XOXO
Charlie

Re: U-Pick Mafia Vol 1 - Day 0
Is it wise to waste a kill on a civ that we could be using to kill a mafia member? If I were civ vig i would not do it unless it was more than just a limited shots vig and I felt really damn certain kites was civ. the only mafia who would make that request would be one who knew they wouldn't die. I find it frustrating that no one but me seems to really consider there are plenty of baddie reasons to do what kites has done. And we basically have to decide right away according to him. I'm not excited about this at all.Long Con wrote: ↑Sat May 19, 2018 9:46 amWhat do you think of doing Kites? That request doesn't strike me as something that would come from a baddie.Jackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 10:57 amIn a heartbeat. Do you doubt me?
dunya I was going to say that you seemed to be reading intent into the things I was saying, but Jay seemed to make my point for me. I have not had a defensive approach. I think you are framing things in your mind based on how you think and not considering that other people don't necessarily think like you. Which is why when I say something like the if I were civ in that position... because I think it helps to illustrate where my point of view is coming from. Also, I do it all the time. It's not a defense, it is more like me thinking out loud.
I'm wordy when I'm engaged in the game. how engaged I am is related to how interested I am in the game and how many other things are pulling my attention other directions. I would love to say my wordiness would indicate civ, but it's not related to alignment.
I didn't ever say that I agreed with golden about what you were doing, in fact I am more prone to think you are reading things into it because of your own frame of reference rather than some nefarious intent. I struggle with you right now because I feel like your arguments and cases are so far from anything I would think that I can't decide if it is just a difference in how we approach things or because you are bad. And I feel like just coming out of Ancient greece makes me ten times more wary of you, but that's not exactly fair. I am more inclined right now to stick you in the undecided pile than the bad or good piles.
And apparently I'm just an annoyance to everyone with how I communicate so I'll just shut up now, you guys can play the game and I'll go sit at the little kids table. wouldn't want to get in the adults way.

"being defensive is a sign of being mafia"Elohcin wrote: ↑Sat May 19, 2018 9:56 amNot caught up but as I read, I agree with the bolded/underlined part. In fact, I was going to post this myself. I think being defensive is a sign of being mafia.dunya wrote: ↑Sat May 19, 2018 4:34 am so i read up. here's where my new head is at:
Golden is civ tinfoiling cos I flipped scum and he doesn't deal with people giving him emotion to his robotic voice well. actually, the reason I discredit Golden from being scum is that he's playing a pretty lousy scumgame to not ping me if he was scum. he's just so focused on me, it's uncanny. does he usually tunnel like this? he says i want him off my back to get rid of the heat: nah. idc. I'd feel differently if I was scum, but since this is a case of omgussing that turned into "she said he said", i'm gonna give him a civ-read or at the most he's s/a.
i think spacedaisy is scum and here's why: she's defending every post she makes with really wordy and thought-out explanations. it just feels like someone trying to justify every move and show people why she is doing what she's doing and why she's civ, like she has to. i do that sometimes when i'm scum (justifying my actions before i have to or immediately when someone asks me something about it). i don't do it as a civ because my thoughts don't need justification.
I am thinking dunya could be bad too, but not enough to vote her yet.
First of all, I only said I wasn't reading all of Day 0. Second, I talk about how crazy long the thread is as a civ or a baddie. You are just afraid of me because I am a good baddie. My record of winning as a baddie proves that. This doesn't make it right for people to automatically assume I am bad. Give me the benefit of the doubt, man. The game just began. What specifically have I done that makes you think I am bad already? (Oh, and I don't lurk. I leave up the tab to the thread at all times.)dunya wrote: ↑Sat May 19, 2018 4:41 am and i still think eloh is bad. if scotty is going to lynch non-contributors, i'd like to see a lynch eloh movement too cos she self-admits she won't read the thread. she's done this several times as a baddie and while i love eloh like the stars love the moon, i don't wanna be outplayed by a lurky eloh who makes the same self-justification of not knowing what's happening and that we post too much and she can't keep up.![]()
Alright, gotta go grocery shopping. I will be back and catch up later.
*proceeds to be defensive in the very same post*
Either you are civ who just got defensive, making your bit invalid, or you are scum who just got defensive after attempting to jump on a wagon.
Which is it Eloh?

I'm not sure if the last active is something everyone can see or just registered users. It is not accepted as fair game play to use those advantages like being able to see invisible players and check last active. It's kind of something we have to trust the mods and admins won't do. Being a new mod, you may not have realized this, but yeah...

anyone can see "who is online" at any time by clicking on "Who is online". I'm not talking about hidden players, I was talking about Eloh who isn't hidden. I don't hide myself and ignore anyone who is in italics because I think that's lame. Apparently we were talking at odds here. I meant (and believed we were talking about) Golden's accusation that were intentionally projecting emotions onto his posts to make him look bad. I don't think I agree with that, which was the point of the big paragraph that apparently everyone thought should just die and go to hell. I don't think that most of us play that complex of a game. I think there probably some of us who do, but I don't think you are that type of player.dunya wrote: ↑Sat May 19, 2018 2:05 pmI have a problem with that because you first called out the infamous "scumslip" by saying "I want to believe you meant for the implication to be "if he is right" but you didn't say that."Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Sat May 19, 2018 1:44 pm I didn't ever say that I agreed with golden about what you were doing

regarding the scumslip, I was torn on it, the majority of me feeling like I think you meant what I said in quotations. But I'm wary of you and there is a certain bit of me that thinks there is some small chancee that it might have been. Most of me thinks no though.
The brain twin comment is because Golden and I tend to have the same way of thinking, and the fact that the post made both of us stop and have a similar reaction was amusing to me.

And I came back to say I'm out of the thread for now because I'm annoyed, not quitting the game or anything.

An hour and thirteen minutes to read 17 pages? I don't see anything unusual there. Of course, I come from the perspective of many distractions.

I later discovered that Scotty did the same thing you did, so frankly he should be treated equally.Elohcin wrote: ↑Sat May 19, 2018 2:20 pmI repeat. I said I wasn't going to read all 13 pages (or whatever) of Day 0. Despite what y'all think. I read everything from Day1 on in every game I am in with one exception and that was CC123. @Scotty your move.

XOXO

Elohcin I think that sig invited Lifefer to play this game, so knows him/her from another site.
As such, that response from sig to Lifeler you quoted doesn't do anything for me.

Re: U-Pick Mafia Vol 1 - Day 0
Yeah, IF she was calling me bad. "Hot take"? What does that mean? I am old, remember. And yes, nutella often calls me out for no reason at all. Literally....there was NO reason in her post. I think she does it to see if she can stir me up. I was just letting her know she wasn't getting a rise out of me.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sat May 19, 2018 8:41 am Actually Elohcin was the ISO I was trying to open. Good call.![]()
I'm calling this non-alignment indicative. Indeed, I believe she posted something similar in Mortal Kombat expressly because she knew it was something she'd say as a civilian. I gave her erroneous credit then which I will not do now, but nor will I consider this to be an alarm bell. It is nothing.
This I don't like.
First, the uncertain comprehension is hard to take seriously.
nutella, literally: Eloh is bad
Eloh: if nutella is saying I'm bad...
Then the highlighted bit served as my initial ping. Something I associate with mafia-aligned Elohcin is a tendency to discard suspicion leveled upon her given her genuine belief that it is fallacious and should not indicate her alignment (even when in my opinion it really should) -- she engages in caught for the wrong reasons frequently. In this case it's not a clear parallel, because she isn't speaking to the specific reasons for nutella's suspicion. The immediate discard is bothersome though.
You are correct that whether I am bad or good, I mostly believe that what people are calling me bad for is silly. You are also correct that I am not speaking of silly reason this time, of course, because nutella gives no reasons here.
Banners are cool, but a pain to scroll through so...
I've won a lot of games. I've hosted some games. The end.

nah eloh I think he meant he had 18 pages from where he left off up until page 28 which that post was on, implying he read about 7 pages in an hour. I think you're overreacting and/or misinterpreting and anyway people have different reading speeds so don't read too much into itLong Con wrote: ↑Sat May 19, 2018 2:35 pmAn hour and thirteen minutes to read 17 pages? if Epi is a sk who can blow up everyone who votes for him (a real role that existed on RYM...hello mac, hello jjj, hello colin) it would be the funniest shit ever and it's a good way to go down in this game.
