There's a big difference, to me, between Golden being the one who made the Night Poll, and Golden revealing that there were hidden results behind the choices. When I thought Golden had made a face-value poll, it made no difference to my opinion of which choice I wanted to win it.

Like, say there's two t-shirts, and I like the blue one, but T-ShirtCo. company says "Hey cool guy, the red shirt is the best one!" and I say "I like the blue one though" and T-ShirtCo. says "What if I tell you we made BOTH SHIRTS!" and I'm like "Wow! But I like the blue one!" Then they take the sunglasses off and say "No, but seriously dude, we made the blue one super-itchy. It's the worst." Then I say "Red me up!"

Originally I thought, that's weird that LC said he changed his mind at that point because that's not how I remember him responding. When I went back and looked it over I saw that you changed your mind when he explicitly spelled out what he meant when he said it was booby trapped. I got that bit once I went back to find what originally pinged me and sort out why.

My problem that I am trying to decide how I feel about, is this: as a civ why wouldn't you ask yourself, "Would a civ be more likely to say this or a baddie?" Because yeah it would suck if something bad happened to me because I voted for the wrong option, but the bigger question I asked myself when he said that is what it told me about Golden. Put yourself in the place of someone who has a role that can secretly attach things to a poll. Then attach an alignment. As a baddie, that kind of role has more power for your team if it is secret. If it become known it would take only one poll to sort out your likely alignment. Then you have a now useless power and you will likely get lynched. If you are a civ and you did something thinking it was in the best interest of the civs only to realize you've made an error in judging how the other civs would perceive things. I could see trying to stop something that was likely to hurt the civs. You've revealed your power and made it possibly useless, but what good is it if your power ends up hurting your team more than helping it?

That was what motivated my move. Golden looked very civ to me and he seemed desperate to move us off the option and revealed that he wrote the poll. So I moved to the option he voted because I assumed it was the safest option and in the best interest of the civs.

Your first interest in all of this looks like self preservation. You only moved when you suddenly think it's booby trapped, the rest of the consideration doesn't seem to be there.

But I am struggling with whether this is just a difference in approach or the way we think, you know? I frequently have trouble making sense of people who approach things differently than i would, it feels suspicious to me and I am trying to sort if that is what is happening here with you. I couldn't understand why the conversation and debate over the pros and cons of the various options continued after his revelation because of how I looked at it. To me it was like, "Why is this even a discussion, clearly it makes much more sense for a civ Golden to say that than a baddie Golden, so who cares what result we are voting for? I trust he has a reason for not wanting us to vote for it and that the safest option to vote for is the one he is voting for." So I am having a hard time understanding other responses to his revelation in general maybe... I don't know. I'm probably not making sense to anyone but me (and maybe Golden )

Yes. In this game the players pre-selected their character, not their alignment or role. 100% of alignments were selected based on randomisation. No single player was specifically selected to a certain alignment. The roles were designed based on three factors: enjoyment of the player, flavour of the character and the alignment they rolled.

Factions:

In this game we have two scum teams, some rogues and some civs. I'm not gonna say how many of each or whatever. The faction names are:

Here's what I'm thinking concerning the sprityo vote. If sprityo doesn't show back up to contribute anything, we can assume he's out of the game, and his alignment won't matter any more. If he does show back up, he can defend himself and we can choose to lynch or not lynch him in better faith.
For that reason, I'm planning to re-evaluate and move my vote, and I recommend the rest of you on the sprityo wagon consider doing the same.

I will not be voting for sprityo or lunalee. Either this was a super civ observation, or she is on a team with sprityo. If the latter, then if sprityo shows back up and is all super contributor, I would be looking at her as a probable team mate who used the rules to save her teamie. It is a risky move for someone who is on the poll and a valid lynch option though. I am thinking this is civ luna.

jackofhearts: jack reminds me of Mortal Kombat Jack, and i can't pinpoint exactly why. he spent the early game of that one doing meme posts with emotes, cus he was tired of... idk something. i think it was being misread? but ultimately he still contributed. this game seems to be leaning a little more towards roleplay than activity. though he has leaned towards the other way recently. he seems to be taking the meme aspect of this game in stride. he could be bad, gth i don't think he is.

ddl: my read on ddl is directly related to whether or not his role/alignment claim is correct or false, he claims sig will return to us at the end of the day so i think it's worth waiting to see if he's telling the truth. even if sig does return it doesn't gaurantee the rest of what he said is true, but it's a start, and a datapoint. the possibility that ddl has a role that can both vanish and unvanish people is a real possibility that shouldn't be ignored or forgotten but idk. that's something to deal with later. his emotional response to being poked at today seemed genuine, and also if this were some weird baddie gambit, it's one he's going to have to commit to, and this is going to be a long game. so i guess we'll see.

I don’t really have a reason to lynch anyone on today’s poll other than DDL and as much as he’s objectively wrong and/or full of shit about certain things, I do actually believe most of not all of his claim and even if he did nothing but submit day targets and eventually take a bullet for the town, that’s a great reason to keep him alive.

So let’s move on to who else I don’t want to lynch.

I don’t really want to lynch Jimmy (kinda disappointed by his attack on me last night cause it was lazy and biased but he’s done it before in Ass Class so I’ll leave it alone).

I don’t want to lynch Kyle or Luna or Sprityo but I could be convinced. I have stronger reasons to want Colin lynched and to not want Colin lynched.

At this point, I’d default to Lilefer, I suppose.

First real post. The highlighted yellow thing strikes me as a pointless statement which only serves to make this post appear more thorough. I appreciate the effort to rank players at the top, but I have no understanding of why they're ranked this way. They could be randomized and make essentially as much sense in the absence of context or explanation.

We have a facilitator who will work to remedy that. I don't expect sprityo to bail forever when it can be explained that I meant no offense. If he's bad, I don't want him alive.
