I just read the ISO Russ did and it’s solid enough. His introductory segment wasn’t really related to the overall content, more so like a presenter catching the audience into listening with a good personal story. I got the general idea of his back and forth self countering color dealio. And it makes sense, but I didn’t but personally find it convincing. What I did find convincing was the statistics he used when showing when alien “buddies” jay. (Another good presenting strategy, I’m studying this rn in school). 23 sounds like a lot but i’d Also like to know what it is in comparison to someone else in the game. I find the “scum asking questions to stay relevant” strategy a very common one at that so it’s a good lead to follow. What really sold me however was the waffling. Particularly the statement of why would you back down on someone who you think slipped? I want to read it again to make sure but from how it was given by russ, there wasn’t a super good reason not to pursue the line of thinking.

Why do players in general have so many scum reads? That's strange to me. I feel like the thread state is way more conducive to finding everyone town. What gives?

Fwiw this strikes me as similar to their game before as Town. They were very much like that, very 'effected by the wind' and always sort of like 'I'll bear that in mind thanks' to everything everyone said. I think that's what caused them to be mislynched but I'm not sure, M Plus 7 can probably remember it better.

i'm semi-around but not entirely. i've been on Robot for a while now; the points that i made in my reads posts about Robot are ones that still stand. unlike you/Alien/Tsaiah(?), i don't have any meta on robot, so i can't offer anything of value there, but i still really dislike them saying that they like kylemii and then saying that they don't mind the wagon. i just cannot imagine that sort of behavior/thought coming from a townie; when i form a read (even a minor/light one) on somebody, i don't then want to hop onto their wagon just because a few other people are.

i know that they said that they didn't see any compelling reason to do so, but the eagerness to the possibility of joining that wagon rubs me the wrong way entirely.

Again I feel the need to point out that I think they were like this before as Town, so it's either non indicative or a towntell

Yeah I saw some similarities when I went to go look at Game 9 earlier which is why I abandoned the effort. I still don't really feel I have any reason to townread her but I am absolutely hesitant.

Wait, explain this to me. Why would TH clear other players? And why would he flip red?

I think he's pretty close to 50/50 because it's fucking TH but what do I know. I was giving him mild points for tone, but... yeah, he's the hardest player for me to sort right now other than Marmot.

I quickly ISO checked TH, Colin, DH and Marmot for post counts and found the former three with far higher post counts than I thought. That they are not central to discussion pings me.

I am want to give Marmot a pass for it. I know Colin will continue to post whether he's scum or not and have seen him tie himself in knots to the point where he couldn't get out of it before, very recently, as scum.

TH straight up called Dharmahelper town. If TH flips bad I am calling Dharmahelper town. I do not think a scum TH calls a teammate DH town the way he did.

He called sprityo his spirit animal. I do not think a scum TH engages with a scum teammate sprityo in this way.

Kylemii was visibly taken aback by TH giving DH a town clear. It is both a good look for Kyle and I cannot see them as scum teammates because of it.

I know these are all simple things but I can't sense any of these three interactions being scum/scum.

Going on the post I made before that I directed at Jay I would like one of DH or TH lynched today because neither of them are living up to what I feel their standards of contribution are which in THIS particular game where we as town have the benefit of a significantly active thread, makes me want to get rid of them early as they are not going to allow themselves to, "tie themselves in knots" the way a Colin will.

A TH flip leaves behind more breadcrumbs imo.

Alien has sounded pingy which is no surprise for a new player. Alien has been open and forthcoming with lots of information. I think Alien is a mislynch.

This is not a good point because it relies on the expectation that everything town Mac has to do has to be stringently thought through and perfectly foolproof logically which is a ridiculous standard to hold me too and failing to adhere to it is more of a town tell than a scum tell anyway which is logic that I believe you agreed with earlier in the game.
