last thing i'll say because peacing for a bit is the one thing i'll give elephant is their case on me gives off... disappointment. disappointment about the way i'm playing, and how it's not villagery or up to snuff with my play in wc1. that i can understand. but it still feels just... like he's doing because he has to, that's still what bothers me i suppose

Yeah, I was not compelled. He just listed a lot of things but didn't dive into why they were wolfy. I haven't played with him but just from interacting with him these past days I get the feeling if he were a villager his reasons to vote you would have been more convincing.vanity. wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 2:14 pm last thing i'll say because peacing for a bit is the one thing i'll give elephant is their case on me gives off... disappointment. disappointment about the way i'm playing, and how it's not villagery or up to snuff with my play in wc1. that i can understand. but it still feels just... like he's doing because he has to, that's still what bothers me i suppose

Re: Inception [Subconscious Phase 2]
Btw here is juliets' iso from a recent game where she was scum http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/search ... sf=msgonly
From a quick skim I want to say her play is subjectively similar here, with casing work and stuff, but for this to be a fair read I'd have to also look at a game where she was town. I suspt it would also be similar since she is pretty good at having a consistent style across games-- what I want to see is the small differences I've felt in this game like her recent AtE-ish post. So idk this is fairly inconclusive but in case anyone wants to take a look.

Re: Inception [Subconscious Phase 2]
I have been wrestling with Spiny's behavior as it relates to the questions that Hyena was asking her and for now I'm agreeing with nutella that spiny focused on the Pawn town read issue but didn't focus well on Hyena's other points. What I don't like about my vote is that it has everything to do with Spiny and not you - I would prefer that not be the case. I am by no means sure that this is where I will end up.
Are you still in favor of a DFaraday vote?

Let's talk about this. Is it TMI? Or is it a reasonable inference?boo wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 9:03 amShouldn't be a problem, this is the 'real' thread, since we have the whole post history. In some of the games I've played where they split up the thread, once you are back with the big group you no longer have access to the split thread. Some you do have access. Because of that I'm saving some stuff in word documents like my voting records. You might want to do the same.

Does TMI mean too much information when people are using it? I've seen it thrown out a lot this game, but in most contexts it only made a bit (if any) sense for that to be how people were using it.Benson wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 3:30 pmLet's talk about this. It's literally just based on how posting works on forums like these. Duplicating a thread isn't possible. It'd be a security problem.

I don't like the look of boo's hop on to the vanity vote though, it looks opportunistic. The "Did you miss the D1 lynch result? The only "we" that makes sense there is you're mafia..." is not something that feels like honest scumhunting either.
Looks like the TL wagon isn't really taking off, so I'll check out the boo one instead. [VOTE: spiny boo] aubergine
I'm also not sure you're in a position to call me opportunistic and then say "so I'll check out [something else, opportunistically]" :P

I find it unlikely that the hosts would deny others access to the thread history, so I assumed they figured out some way to duplicate it. Surely that's possible.boo wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 3:40 pmGotcha.Benson wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 3:33 pmYes. In some of the games I've played where they split up the thread, once you are back with the big group you no longer have access to the split thread. Some you do have access. Because of that I'm saving some stuff in word documents like my voting records. You might want to do the same.

And I hereby move that the combined name, rather than Spiny boo, should be Spoony, cause that's just fucking adorable.

Huh, interesting. I just kinda assumed there was some way the other group(s) could see the posts from D1. Not having the ability to review the previous day would be pretty detrimental, but I suppose it fits the theme.boo wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 3:40 pmGotcha.Benson wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 3:33 pmYes. Re: Inception [Subconscious Phase 2]
They may have provided ISOs, but no, actual duplication isn't. Every post is made by an account with a ton of background info, right? In order to duplicate a thread of all of that, you'd be pulling all that information again but changing things (the timestamps wouldn't be legit, for the most clear example). Short of an admin sock-puppeting every user and every post (which is possible but would be frowned upon, and without a script would take an unreasonable amount of time to accomplish), a proper duplication couldn't be made in a public forum.nutella wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 3:52 pmI find it unlikely that the hosts would deny others access to the thread history, so I assumed they figured out some way to duplicate it. Re: Inception [Subconscious Phase 2]
I don't see how it couldn't just be a saved record of how the thread was at the time. I guess we have different understandings of how it could or could not work but I still strongly think the others must have some way to see it.

I mean, not being able to see past posts after a scum lynch sounds like Jay's personal hell.

Re: Inception [Subconscious Phase 2]
I want to give you some info on my next couple of days. I'm going to work shortly, and I won't be around at lynch time, though I'll be sneaking off to a bathroom in order to see what's going on if I can. Then it's night, and the thread gets closed 24 hours. Tomorrow morning, I go to an overnight Beavers camp with my son, at a canoe museum. So I won't really be in the thread to any great degree until Sunday... I guess we get back around noon. All times Eastern Standard.
I'll have my phone at the camp, and I'll probably be doing some catching up at bedtime. Don't know if I'll be posting, maybe some short phone thoughts.

Re: Inception [Subconscious Phase 2]
Oh, I don't doubt they have ISOs available up until the end of D1. But it would still have to be something JJJ and sloonei posted in the new thread. But that isn't the same as duplicating a thread. ISOs are just post history neatly arranged by thread (a relatively simple automatic search filter compiling it). Duplicating a whole thread would essentially require hacking every user account that posted in the thread to re-post their post (as an admin user, then change the user that is shown to have made the post as the original user). There's no way something like that would be a built in feature on a public forum.

I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but Trustworthy's contributions on day 2 don't inspire any hope. It's like he's always doing the bare minimum of what's being asked.

I vote we should make boo our phpBB expert mod or admin and let him fix our technical annoyances and program bots. He can be our Makaze.

I know thats why I tagged him to see if we can get some reads or something. I'm getting antsy about his lack of contribution.
