possibly. I did a level 7 tunnel onto someone in my last game. Took me until like day 2, and then we just hard townread eachother.
if that is the end outcome here, im okay with it.

Re: The Lion King [Day 0]
Someone should talk to me about Urist and Alison's interactions; I need help trying to figure this association out.Alison wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 5:17 pmI'm saying that proto, as scum, can easily find something to make up to talk about. Proto, as town, doesn't need to make up anything, so he just doesn't talk about mechanics and explains that he can't find anything he wants to talk about. It is as simple as that; and that is why I am townreading him for it.Urist wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 3:05 pmproto himself said that he's not doing it because the setup doesn't support it.Alison wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 1:23 pm Lots of mechanics things to talk about. Best person for cop to use night check on, whether doctor should use heals aggressively or save them for late in the game, best way to use tracker, whether a doublevote is mathematically more powerful now or in the late game, etc.
What makes you think I'm trying to find reasons to townread proto? We clearly have history with each other and proto said I pocketed him super deep in a previous game, which implies that I understand him quite well. Is it a surprise that I have my theory about what proto would or wouldn't do here as scum?
so either:
a) he's town and being genuine, in which case your reason for town reading him is incorrect.
b) he's scum, in which case your reason for town reading him is definitely incorrect.
c) he's town and you somehow know him better than he knows himself.
Judging by what you've said you seem to think that c is the case, which isn't something that I had considered before. And it's fine that you think that, but I don't think it really tells me anything about you other than that you think you know proto super well.
I wanted to drop this before I began to reveal myself as a pedantic ass, since this is such a small point that in the grand scheme of things really has no bearing on the game or anyone's alignment, but here we are.

Re: The Lion King [Day 0]
I don't really share her confidence that he would do this if he randed scum this game. @MPlus7 But yeah maybe she just really feels like this is what he would do /shrugAlison wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 12:59 pmElaborate on this?
Nah, all scum proto has to do is come in here and post 5000 words theorizing about game mechanics that everyone skims over, and then collect his free towncred. Everything he's done here just reeks of purity, and the "do you think I am scum? What about if I told you X? Shouldn't you scumread me if I told you Y?" thing is a quirk I've noticed he has in his gamesolving style as town. It's also a quirk that I haven't told him I noticed, so I don't think he's intentionally replicating it to pocket me.Urist wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 9:53 am Alison's townproto said it himself, it would be literally impossible for him to commit to the same playstyle as Space Invaders, and the main reason for why he's saying it seems to be so that he isn't scumread for having a different playstyle.
If anything, proto saying he'll have a different playstyle is slightly scummy.
Giving him a townread for it is scummy as well.
(Also do you mean to say "Alison's scum"? Like you said I was town then went on to explain why my read was awful.)

Well, basically, but it's more of experiencing a shared feeling instead of agreeing with a sentiment, which is more of a conscious decision. Not much. I've played a voice game but I really haven't gleemed much about what he's like from that. I looked at a few of his posts in Space Invaders but they were all mechanics and I'm not sure how they would apply here. He just seems like a confident player who isn't afraid to push what he wants.

I'm not sure why, but my gut mildly thinks this sounds w/w. Huh.
I think it's mostly due to the extreme hedging in tutuu's post when otherwise she's been less like that with other reads, perhaps indicating she has TMI about other players and is trying to have it both ways with a wolfmate here.

Things are still in flux... but right now I like you, Dizzy, and Urist as my top 3 town. I think cobbler also looks pretty good. I probably wouldn't want to yeet proto today either.
After that it gets tougher. I have mixed feelings on tutuu. I'll have to try to devote more headspace to the other players.

This is also a selfish read, and those are... ughhh, but. I'm not sure how to feel about this read. I also haven't gotten any sense that tutuu has developed it since that initial read, which is a bit notable given I am the top poster, but I also realize my entrance and re-entrance were spaced out.tutuu wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 4:49 am mm my eyes started glazing over towards the last part of day 1. i will need to eat breakfast first and focus.

Re: The Lion King [Day 0]
Hey, Alison!
I mean, anything's possible for sure. Incidentally I'm unsure about tutuu's treatment of me specifically. Otherwise I haven't had anything strongly hit my gut either way in terms of selfish reads, but also while I inevitably will have selfish thoughts I try to de-prioritize them when it comes to other options of reads information, if that makes sense.
What were you hoping to gain from this question?

I loled
I don't know where to begin with this post.Lavender wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 10:01 pm hi everybody please enjoy the following reads which i had a great time making and consist of a combination of my brain and heart
notes:
1612 - if he ever says "oh no" it's a sure sign of absolutely nothing because its nai. we play all the time on mafia.gg. if he doesn't tunnel me he is likely mafia. if he does tunnel me we're both town
Alison - gut townread, i like the early reaction test voting on michelle cuz it's something i do a lot, will be watching to see if it was really a reaction test or something else
cobbler - gut scum read
Dyslexicon - they and mp7 are not both scum, see below ⬇
jeraldooo - now u may or may not know this but jeraldoo and i have a psychic connection where we can pretty much always townread each other when we are both town. on the other hand we also townread each when one of us is mafia and one of us is town. or at least when i'm mafia and he's town. i don't actually know if this holds true if we are both mafia. but anyway i'm gonna bus him if he doesn't show up soon
Long Con - gut scum read, i don't like the warning to dyslexicon about mplus7
Michelle - probably pr, come at me
M Plus 7: apparently universally townread. into transparency. has lots of interaction with dyslexicon. so...doubt they are both scum
proto - in mafia.gg and daily mafia my scumtells for proto are scumreading someone quickly d1 and then backing off. so i'm watching to see if he backs off urist. on the other hand he put a lot of effort into his reads. but i guess that's the point of forum. also proto and i aren't both scum cuz would we really use the same format of posting notes, hell no we wouldn't, like i actually copy pasted it, come on now
Scirrus - putting lots of effort into their posts, but i townread them more than urist
tutuuu - town, i like their style. this is probably going to be my gut tr that causes me to lose the game for town in f3, which will be an excellent opportunity for me to become the forum player i was born to be, next game of course
Urist - posted scar poem, nai all the way down. putting lots of effort into their posts. i kinda want to vote them to pocket proto, also they seem like the kind of town player that mafia would be scared to push, so we can just banish them and then vote the nonvoters when they flip blue, game solved pog
so long story short i'm voting long con. now i have to figure out how to vote, hold up
Are you mafia? Cause I feel yes. Can you talk a little bit about how you're used to playing and how long you've played?
Let's do w/w next time I rand scum. I think I have about 22 games left before it happens - go 2022! =p
I'm not even sure I do? But I'm thinking if Alison is scum, Proto is probably town, and I also think that Alison's read on Proto smells a bit TMI. Not even just the read, but also the amount of focus. Like she wastes no opportunity to point out why Proto is town, and I don't follow much of it myself tbh. And I think we have the same amount of experience with him. I really don't know how to read Alison herself though. I've played with her when she was town once and when she was scum once, and I thought she was town both times. Big rip
Lol, your reaction is why I love you. Please be my adoptee like Scirrus is. It's only 27% creepy. =p
Can confirm.

Also, I just got a new bf because weeeeee and HE DOESN'T DRINK COFFEE! All i'm seeing LC doing is chiming in to say things from people are NAI. I don't really like that.

Thoughts on Lavender?Scirrus wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 11:38 pmDyslexicon wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 10:07 am Alison/Proto would be my favorite and not impossible tbh tbh
I had this thought at first but yeah I dunno about Proto. I could see scum!alison trying to whiteknight proto. I'm having more trouble fitting Proto in a scum mindset then Alison here.
I think Alison might be this site's Plat for me lol

I'm also underwhelmed, but I know LC can take a bit to get going and I'm willing to give him a bit of time to collect his thoughts. I'm supportive of pressure there though.

Omg! Imagine not drinking coffee.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 11:39 pmCan't argue with this. Logic flawless.
Also, I just got a new bf because weeeeee and HE DOESN'T DRINK COFFEE! (But otherwise he's great (also also, he's shorter than me which is super hype tbh lol)) But anyway, I'm at his place right now, woke up, and no coffee in the house. I was thinking of quitting actually, but right now I'm thinking that I will never quit...

I don't follow the Urist/Alison convo very well tbh. I get the impression that Urist is a smart player, but I still want to lean town on him as I haven't found anything wrong with his posts. Alison is idk

What treatment is this? I do not recall.M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 11:38 pmI'm pretty torn. I really like some of their stuff. I thought the treatment of Alison specifically was sketch though, especially since the approach clashes hard with other reads given... which may reek of TMI.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 11:36 pmI am confusion. Tutu is one of my strongest town reads tbh tbh
I'm not sure, but... I wanted to get some thoughts there. Maybe I'm crazy.

Re: The Lion King [Day 1]
MP7 D1 vibes reads
Strong town
Dyslexicon
Scirrus
Urist
Moderate town
cobbler
protocultures
Slight town
Alison
Mind vs. gut battle
tutuu
POE
1612
jeraldooo
Lavender
Long Con
Michelle
This is how I'm feeling right now. Players are sorted across tiers, but alphabetically within them.
I almost want to give LC a slight town read, but I'm awaiting more data. I need to go back and look at Lavender again but eh. 1612, jeraldo, and Michelle have essentially no content to judge.
It almost feels probable I'm wrong about one of my town reads, but that's okay. The game doesn't need to be solved right now!
