Who’s in the mood for some vote count analysis before we have any actual votes?

Currently I have Ted, Vulgard, tutuu and kinda-sorta-Hally all on me in spirit. Wolves will usually not bunch up a lot, in a wagon of four voters you’ll rarely have more than one. Equally, a wagon of four voters will rarely have no wolves. When you’ve got a bit of movement happening towards a townie usually one will want to move with the thread and find a way to climb on board.

Obviously I think tutuu is the opportunistic wolf in this group. Assuming I’m right about that, it implies that the other three are town. I was already getting to feel pretty comfy about Vulgard, but the other two have been indecipherable and inner-conflict-inducing, respectively. Being able to anti-associate them with my top scumread feels good.

tbh, I think the other way, he is not at all forced rather an elaborate speaker, a person forcing something cannot keep it up for long and from his tone it is definitely not what you are saying.

I dislike tutuu claiming mafia and then cop as a meme, but since it's apparently something she does as town all the time, it shouldn't be a factor in my read.
Independently from that, I disliked her response to my slight pressure, because it felt very dismissive. Like she was internally self-conscious and it slipped through in her response. While it wasn't openly hostile, it had the underlying tone of "leave me alone this instant."

I also dislike the fact she appears to be fluffposting a lot. Nanook is doing the same thing, but his fluff is sprinkled with interactions and reads, and feels much less rigid overall. The impression I get from tutuu is that she is trying a bit too hard to fit into the thread, which shines through specifically in her interactions with Poison. She has been focusing on those for quite a while, and they are hardly related to the game we're playing, which leads me to believe she wants to enter the game without garnering suspicion by doing it "through a townie" instead of on her own merits.

I'm not certain if others understand my thought process on tutuu, but this is where I currently stand.

I would talk more about Hally, but I am waiting for them to post more. I obviously disliked them claiming mafia, and I considered their earlier read on Michelle rather forced, including the progression into reading Michelle town. It felt rigid and somewhat performative, like someone trying to be townread because they are trying to solve another player right away. The "solve" did not feel very natural to me.

Okagyyyy now I get it. I am getting curious about vulgard is because I reason out people in a similar manner? Hmmm....... Not that scum wouldn't be doing this but I think I understand where he is coming from in general. I think I'll like to slight townread vulgard atm.

There's very little thought but she ends up with a townread on Vulgard. The post is almost cut from a mold; -bring up different points, -show ambivalence, -end with a read based on prior justification... but there's just nothing there. 'I think I understand where he's coming from' reads as just an attempt to build buddyship rather than actually reading into his mindset. I don't like her tone, either- some of her posts seem exaggerated, and although it's hard to distinguish personality from actual slips, I get a bad feeling from a lot of what she writes.

There were a couple of interactions I've come across in my catch-up that made me think they're not teamed. Vulgard had one post talking about Poison in a manner I didn't think could come from a teammate.

In all seriousness if vul/arete is t/t at this point I’d be somewhat surprised given their mutual claimed god reads on each other. Caveat that sometimes new sites can fuck with that kind of thing, but I think still good odds one is maf if we take them at their word wrt accuracy on each other.

By the bolded I mean that he keeps bringing things up that he's already said before, such as that he doesn't like the posters who claimed maf. It seems like he's trying to write every read he has out to such a detailed extent that nobody can question the work he's put in/the quality of his thoughts, but it just comes out looking like he's trying very hard to remember the reasons he's scumread peope--something that town don't have to do because they've already internalized their opinions.

no, here's the thing, he doesn't always say about the same thing everytime. yes, he does mention few points more than once, but everyone does that, but the point is, his details are not fake or try-hard forced ones.

112 - coming in with strong, believable cases on two widely townread players, able to answer follow up questions with sharp reasoning that shows real thought and solving intent? Yeah, this is a townie and I don’t even feel nervous saying so.

Poison - Slightly weird read here, but I’m getting a sense that they’re not super confident in their game. Things like saying “Don’t ask me how good my reads are I’d be too embarrassed to answer” or being impressed and thinking I’m more experienced than them based on me... making a an early readlist. For someone like that to be posting so freely and effortlessly and engaging with other people’s reads and (nicely) poking holes in them doesn’t fit with what I’d expect from their scum game.

Vulgard - I’m musing over 112’s case here, wondering if there’s something to it. I don’t think so. Vulgard accuses me of being too meticulous and crafting my posts too well. I don’t think wolf him wants to accuse me of exactly what he’s doing. I think he’s just what he seems - a careful, structured, townie.

Hally - I’m probably not going to ever stop tinfoiling her in the back of my mind but at a certain point you have to take yes for an answer. Sometimes the super-towny player is just town. Maybe she’s a wolf but if she is I ain’t catching her day zero. I can always be wrong, but I’m at the point of acknowledging that if Hally is a wolf I am wrong because I think she’s town.

Ted - I don’t think he’s paired with tutuu, and the way he’s been doggedly pushing his mini-tunnel on me feels like townie-wrong not wolfy-malicious. Not ultra confident here but he gets a townread.

nope, just started page 16 but I know what happened so far when this post was made, and honestly vulgard came out more natural to me based on his posts. No i haven't encountered many elaborated speaker as scum, the only one i can remember would be Ratchet but even though he is on the elaborated side, his posts weren't really sharp.

1: I definitely gave 112 points for coming in with cases on two players that looked safe from being mislynched (though I guess Vulgard is looking a bit more precarious now). But I also liked the cases themselves, despite disagreeing with them. I thought they showed a clear town mindset. I think 112 is wrong, but for the right reasons, if that makes sense. I don’t have to agree with the conclusion to like the process.

(Although I also would like to see what 112 has to say about her different reactions to me and Hally, because that does give me pause).

2. Yeah my Ted read isn’t super strong in an independent sense. I do think his posts make sense coming from town but don’t necessarily have to be from town. But the way I’m seeing the game at the moment it seems more likely that he’s town.

Obviously I think tutuu is the opportunistic wolf in this group. Assuming I’m right about that, it implies that the other three are town. I was already getting to feel pretty comfy about Vulgard, but the other two have been indecipherable and inner-conflict-inducing, respectively. Being able to anti-associate them with my top scumread feels good.

Hally - I’m probably not going to ever stop tinfoiling her in the back of my mind but at a certain point you have to take yes for an answer. Sometimes the super-towny player is just town. Maybe she’s a wolf but if she is I ain’t catching her day zero. I can always be wrong, but I’m at the point of acknowledging that if Hally is a wolf I am wrong because I think she’s town.

That's Ash's progression on Hally. I read it more like pocketing rather than actual tinfoiling and I feel like Ash is mostly trying to fake that way around Hally even though he's usually seen trying to pocket her.

I don't know why he town reads Hally, but it seems as if there is little to no reasoning behind the read, and it's more like a pocket-y progression into a "meh fuck it, town" that lacks any form of progression or reasoning that would make him take that leap.

I was confused on why she town read Ash and also I felt like she asked too many questions about people's reads on her when as a town she has a lot of other info to look into.

The reason I ask was that your vote felt opportunistic. You’ve offered precious little of your views on the game overall and just come along with a cheap vote on the embattled guy. “Feels like scum trying to settle into a reasonable looking tunnel” - what distinguishes what I’m doing from a player who actually thinks someone is acting scummy? What do you think of other players - what sort of things are you reading what way?

I know it’s easy to reflexively think “oh that guy is voting me for BS reasons he’s probably scum”. I‘m trying not to do that. I’m trying to get a broader perspective of you and the way you see the game so I and everyone else can solve you properly.

Instead, all you’re giving me is this stupid middle finger in my face. It’s like you’ve decided that I’m not even worth talking to, I’m just a wolf, and you are so supernaturally certain of this there is no point engaging with me as another player. It’s infuriating and unpleasant to play with.

So.

The first few posts in 112's iso are mostly shitposts, nothing to see here. There is some shade thrown Ted's way by calling him mafia, and there's suspicion on Hally's tone, but unexplained.

When 112 returns to the thread, she immediately jumps the gun and comes in guns blazing with two scumreads -- on me, and on Poison. The one on me is explained by "stilted tone" and "repeating his cases" to "mimic progression." From my perspective, I... don't really understand it. I can't even call it outlandish, I just don't understand it and can't really respond to it. I've experienced that before while being scumread by mafia. This is a very similar feeling, and it's the reason I began to suspect 112 after she had returned to the thread.

112's read on Poison baffles me for many of the same reasons. It says that there are multiple elements in Poison's post about me, lists them all, then says there is nothing there... so IS THERE something, or is there nothing? And then there is a sudden complaint about tone, because "some of Poison's posts seem exaggerated." ...But tutuu is doing a similar thing, for example. And for some reason, that didn't seem to ring any alarm bells, did it?

#663. This one's actually correct, but I'm town and I'm doing this as town. I'd like to have actual backup and evidence for my reads this time around, thank you. And since my memory is very, very poor, posting like this helps me just like it (hopefully) helps some other people.

reasons for why could i not be townreading her but she could still be town:

1) its been a while since we played. a few months. maybe im not remembering stuff properly
2) she could be tired cuz its late and maybe she had a long day at work
3) im biased cuz i already have so much townreads and im hesitant to make more. but i dont think thats true. but it could be

I think these two posts read like "mafia trying to look productive." Once again, I don't understand what 112's doing here, or where she's coming from. The read on Ash is pure hedge. "Very towny on the surface, but has potential TMI on me." These feel like two things which should never go together in a read on someone, if that makes sense. 112 picked two extremes here and seemingly called it a day. "Throwing it out there."

And the post about dunya is just "nothing," as 112 called Poison's post earlier. Why even write this post? I don't see a good reason why town would write this post, not even spontaneity, but mafia would write this post to look productive. It isn't written in a relaxed way, either, and that is something which would make this post look townier. 112 is the one with a very stilted tone, in my opinion. Which is ironic, considering what she accused me of. Remember? Stilted tone. Oh, and repeating my cases all the time. Which I'm not doing in this post, and which I haven't done in half my posts at least.

Finally, #803 is very cheap and not original, but that's less relevant in comparison to what I've already written.

Overall, I think 112's push on me is in bad faith, and perhaps the one on Poison as well. I don't understand half of the arguments 112 has used in both. Her contributions to the game outside of these two scumreads can be boiled down to "a few posts which look designed to seem mildly productive" and "fluffposting/shitposting early, with shade thrown Hally's way that never developed into anything beyond." Overall, this looks actively scummy, and I actually have confidence in this read unlike my earlier proddings.
