solid thought and maybe ur rightilario wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 7:51 am Fwiw I do think someone in nanooks situation could have seen my slot as an easy push as scum and that’s why his vote is on me. I’m a dude with no avatar, no posts on this account, someone he probably (?) hasn’t heard of and the only people that knew me here were voting me at the time of his vote. It feels like an easy/low-risk play on his part. Especially since his justification was that “he supports alexa”. Which is fine and all, but the way he tacked his vote on felt like he did it without evaluating whether or not my read on alexa was coming from a genuine place to begin with.
but i'd feel horribly bad if we voted him out and he was town with a correct read on me

Yeah I think wiml is just town here and this has nothing to do with the fact that he trs me. I think he would tr me regardless of his alignment this game. From reading his wolf games wiml responds poorly to pressure and people may disagree with me on this but I think he’s handled being in the poe in a towny way this game. He isn’t overly bothered by it, and his primary focus has been on game solving/interacting as opposed to trying to push himself out of the poe.

Tell me what about that post was not performative and useless.
It makes a big show of emphasizing how bad your flip will be for town. It vaguely alludes to scum being on your wagon, but actively refuses to specify who.

tony just seems like an archetype townie. he's not really controlling the narrative which scum SHOULD do, and he's outed thoughts here and there that look villagery.
2) Scum are compelled to actively seek to control the narrative D1.
Choose one. When I am wolf and the whole town is dogpiling a villager I don't feel any need to control anything. I just sit back, eat chips and watch the village burn.

Re: Buckets: War of the GOATs
thats an interesting point because i feel like ive had a very similar reaction, did you get an otherwise impression on me to state that isnt the case?NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 7:52 pmI didn't explain it at the time, no. So what? Do you think me saying now "yeah I think trans had a really strong opening" would matter to anyone? Unlikely, given that presumably the people voting him have read his opening and are voting him anyways, yeah? So I presented the part of the read i thought might be more compelling instead. Which hasn't worked, but it at least had a chance to.alexa wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 7:45 pm Nanook, I had the instant urge to counter what you said because I don't remember you explaining your read on Matt besides volume cleared and because of my ADHD, but I forced myself to spot-check your ISO and I still don't see anything besides this -
Considering Matt doesn't have volume tells (self-admitted and confirmed by multiple people who know him) I don't see any other reasoning? I don't get why you're just outright ignoring thatNANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 4:11 pmIdk that any of them are incredibly towny on their own, but there's a bunch that are somewhere between townie and kinda townie, and collectively that's enough for me to call him townalexa wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 4:09 pmhaving a huge number of posts is completely NAI for himNANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 4:08 pmWhat is there to explain, he has a huge number of posts and enough of them are townie that he's probably just town
Its not a complicated read and tbh idk how it isn't the prevailing thought
and which one's of them are incredibly towny?
Correct, I am ignoring it. Because it isn't a pure volume tell--if you guys say he can make 300 or 400 something posts as mafia, then ok sure maybe he can. Its a volume of townie posts, as I've said previously--he has a significant number of posts i think are kind of townie to pretty townie, so based on that collectively I think he's town. It isn't about one specific post, it isn't about just looking at a post count number, its about a critical mass of posts that I read and think "yeah thats townie" to the point that I just townread him.
He looks to me like he's trying to work with people and getting increasingly annoyed when those people are scumreading him. It seems to me that he's more frustrated at not being able to work with people than at being scumread. I think that's townie.

Re: Buckets: War of the GOATs
Why?
I have had plenty of town games where the game felt easy, everyone converged on a consensus, and we flipped five mafia in a row.
Coincidentally those happened to be games where there were a lot of strong players. Enough of them rolled town and we just descended on the wolves. The ones that rolled scum were forced to bus. This game seems to suit that archetype, and I have had no discouraging green flips to show me otherwise. If you have a green role card, perhaps you believe the game is in trouble, but until I see that card, I have no reason to believe this.

Re: Buckets: War of the GOATs
Don't be silly. There is no systematic reason for a consensus D1 exe to be a townie much more often than it is a wolf. This is especially true in a 9v2 setup because they have only 1 partner to rescue them from the fire and 9 townies to bury them. I have coasted to D1 wolf exes countless times.EnderWiggin wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 1:37 amEasy D1 is almost never a wolf, especially in a stacked table. I've been speccing all night since i'm a pos that can't sleep like a normal human being
I said i wouldn't post for 8 hours because i'm already at 200 posts but idrc anymore
Ilario and mac are both town
Wiml is meh.
I really fucking hate that I have all this attention on me but the only ppl that have actually attempted to explain their suspicion on me are alison and alexa.
And yes I scum read brad. I'm challenging the thread on that. I don't give a fuck. He's not tt for shit yet and I'm actively pursuing this read until he gives me a reason to believe he's not in his scum range.

Why don't you continue with your reread instead of constantly repeating that you are a misexe? The more you do it, the more I scumread you. Helps nobody and is extremely manipulative in the way it attempts to both push an emotional narrative ("I'm being bullied by these complacent townies") and preys on the paranoia of people like Ender.
There's nothing that says a fake can't surpass the real thing.

I've had a lot of different experiences but eh. Also might be my memory cherry-picking the times it went wrong.Alison wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 1:39 amDon't be silly. History repeats and all that.Alison wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 1:33 amWhat has you so anxious?
We can only trust the truth. Everything else is a lie.

His quote about him playing like a nutcase so he doesn’t get n1d. That in itself isn’t a thought that’s hard to fake but then he carries on that thought by mentioning something about u and esooa dieing n1/n2 which made me feel like it was a real thought that came about and not just something as simple as “hurrr watch me get nightkilled lols”
It’s a progression I’m pretty sure I’ve said a bunch as town but never once thought to fake as scum, since most people find that kinda stuff NAI anyways so I wouldn’t ever bother faking that.
How much experience do you both have with wolf!mac? It seems like ur both the best readers of him and the two he fears the most in here, are you both confident he’s well within scumrange?
What are ur current stances on him rn, town/null/scum?
If I miscleared someone he’s probably it, and I have another reason to ask this but I’ll get to it later closer to eod
