Hillary Clinton was waking up when she heard footsteps in the hall heading in her direction. She hadn't been able to sleep much after witnessing her husband's gruesome end. The pre-dawn light was peaceful, but the sound of someone approaching brought the jitters back hard.

The footfalls paused nearby. Hillary heard a click and a muffled laugh. Then the lights went out. Not just the lights in her room- the entire outside world vanished into a see of flat blackness.

"What the hell?" she asked.

Suddenly her door flew open and a man jumped inside. His head darted up in her direction and he pressed his index finger to his mouth. A few seconds later a groaning sound came from the walls and her door slid back shut. The sounds of door locks licking raced up the hall. The metal window guards slid down into place.

"Sidney?" she asked at last.

"Shh," he whispered.

"What are you doing here?"

"Shh!"

He put his ear up to the door. Hillary moved closer and listened as well. Minutes went by with nothing, but then she thought she heard footsteps in the hallway once more. But how could that be? After a few minutes of hearing footfalls and the occasional indistinguishable voice in the hall, the penthouse was silent again.

Hillary couldn't help but shout when the lights switched back on and the window guards slid back up. New York City was there again.

"Sidney," she said, "did I really just see the skyline disappear and reappear?"

"Hang in there," he said with a wink. "You ain't seen nothing yet."

He slid her door open and took off down the hall.

Sidney Blumenthal enjoyed his breakfast with a vengeance. You never know when your last meal might come, and this was certainly going to be his last lavish meal for a good long while.

"I don't get it," Glenn said. "Why didn't anyone die last night?"

"Maybe it had something to do with the early morning power outage," Pamela replied.

"Speaking of that," Hillary said, "did anyone notice something strange with that power outage?"

"I didn't wake up until the windows slammed shut," Ted said through the intercom. "Did I miss something?"

"Well," Hillary started, "I don't know how to explain this without sounding crazy, but-"

Barron's voice cut her off.

"Good morning! Congratulations are in order."

"Congratulations?" Chelsea asked. "What does that mean?"

"Last night was a success, and a reward is in order."

"Last night?" Shaun pondered. "Reward? Oh! Does he mean this cat and mouse game is over?"

Excitement filled the room, but Barron was quick to quash it.

"The game goes on for all of you around the table except for one. Congratulations, Sidney. You met your win condition. Now you may reap your reward."

"Sidney," Jeb asked through the intercom, "what does that mean?"

"It means," Sidney said, getting up from the table, "that it's time for me to be going."

"What?" several people asked. But it was too late, Sidney bolted down the hallway. The others heard him laughing as we went. They heard a door slide open and shut again. Then there was a different kind of locking sound with his door.

"I've got a very bad feeling about this," Lawrence said through his intercom.

A knocking sound traveled through the walls and approached the hallway to their rooms.

"Hey!" Ted shouted. "What's going on? There's gas coming through the vents!"

"Let me out of here!" Jeb coughed.

Lawrence pounded on his door to no avail.

The others got up from the table and searched for a way to open the doors. The intercoms had all been switched on, allowing them to hear the suffocating gags and chokes as poison gas overwhelmed The Keymaster's victims.

Those in the hallway apologized to the dying trio. They promised to avenge them, somehow.

Not that you specifically read him as one, so it seems like you're only giving a thumbs up to others push there, while distancing yourself from it. Is he your packmate?

112 throughout d1 was rather measured, but didn't strongly push anything except Dizzy for 3p stuff, and then Wilgy for a reaction to Dizzy stuff, neither of which look good.

I don't remember town!you being this peeved about "static wagons" as you say in the practice game we played together. Rather there was tunneling on a group of players, and that was a rather consistent group that you helped push. You specifically led tunnel wagons onto Drago and cayvie there. If Sloonei wagon is right, why does it matter if it's static? What pushes the game truly forward for town are scum flips. There were other people being talked about, it's not like the game came to the consensus that Sloonei was the lynch and no one else should be looked at.

In the practice game you felt like a lead dog, peeing all over. Here you're following the scent of others pee anywhere but to Sloonei. Probably the best thing going for you is the derp with Dexi 3p.

Mac's d1 was just him asking where to sheep, almost nothing to go off of here except Sloonei vote and maybe the MP7 connection potentially. The park on Sloonei after asking for a sheep and getting one with MP7 is a bit eyebrow raising if Sloonei is town, IIRC they talked about being anti-Sloonei d1 lynch in a prior game.

I had it in my head that a dive right in opening was sort of scummy for 112, but then I reread their opening 15ish posts in coronavirus mafia (their most recent on site town game AFAIK) and they dove right in there too, so it made the initial read meaningless.
Thank Scirrus for pressing you on this. It does feel funny that you'd go meta searching this early in a game, before you actually press them about your initial suspicion, to at least get some discussion going and get a feel for them in this game. Don't get the feel you're w/w though, and hard to see wolfy motivation on your end here. If you were trying to buddy a town!112 then I'd think you'd bring up the meta stuff earlier.

I liked nova's start giving some naked reads to get things going, and they had some good pushback onto 112. TSP has been kind of random d1 as they said they'd be early, the juliets push was very meh, and don't like their ending on Wilgy. They brushed off the Sloonei wagon in their second post in a way that I could see town doing, given it could seem to be an overreaction if just skimming stuff. Overall like the nova part more than the TSP part of this slot.

Soneji bussed Sloonei pretty hard throughout the game but I still think this is a pretty great spew. Of the five players left, his read on Nanook is far and way the most team indicative of the 5 though I could see the TSP stuff being teammate. Nanook also is in his good list. He is unlikely to include both teammates in a bad list on day 1. I think the way that he talked about how I dealt with his partner Sloonei is pretty strongly indicative of me not being his teammate. He was also harsh af on 112 and MP7.

Probably likely to just go Nanook here and if it goes to F3 reassess.

Nanook and Sloonei are obviously also very compatible after that day 1. They had a couple minor skirmishes that went nowhere. Even when Sloonei voted Nanook he got mad at LC for sheeping him.

Ok, so looking at votes here...D1 wagons are the most immediately interesting probably tbh, the sloonei wagon consists of Soneji (dead scum), Mac (still alive), LC (locked up N1 so not a viable NK target), and FG/Wilgy/Epi, three NKed townies.

Not all scum teams consider wagon formation when making NKs obviously, and some purposely shoot to fuck with these exact kind of reads, but I have to say I think this is a pretty good point in Mac's favor imo.

If 112 is mafia they've EOD voted for mafia one time (EOD3 on sloonei). I'm working with old/limited meta here, but I *think* this is actually a kind of good look for them? 112 is a serial busser IIRC, and maybe a bit more...lost, I want to say, with their votes when they're town, if that makes sense. NOW, counterbalancing that is the AtE which I think is somewhat less likely to come from town112, but I'm less sure of that.

Tony's votes actually look real bad, but I HAVE to have one read I believe in this game so I'm ignoring that. I'm actually tempted to just say MP and TSP are townie based on the EOD4 movements, since it was between 112 and Scirrus and if they're lone mafia they probably don't give a fuck which one dies? Less points for MP though since he had some slef prez concerns involved IIRC.

So yeah, not as helpful as one might hope. I think this probably gives me a POE of MP and 112 (112 seemingly disinterested with their votes which might be scum lost when they aren't bussing?) (MP cause I think Mac looks relatively good off voting). Idk how confident I feel in this but most of my reads have been dogshit so far, so.
