Long Con was dragged into the basement of The Dancing Piano and tied to a chair. A stern looking man walked into the dimly-lit room.

"Who are you?" Long Con asked.

"Funny," the man said, "I was just about to ask you the same thing."

"What?" Long Con asked.

"Who are you and who do you work for?"

"I don't have to tell you anything," Long Con sneered. "Just kill me and get this over with."

The man walked over to him and crouched down. He stared Long Con straight in the eyes. He could tell this man wasn't kidding around.

"I'm not here to kill you," he said, "but if you don't cooperate, you'll be begging me to kill you by the time I'm finished."

"You don't scare me."

"Not yet anyway." The man pulled out some pictures. "Do you recognize this man?"

"Yeah, it's Sloonei."

"Did you kill him?"

"He's dead?"

"That's right," the man said, pulling out another picture. "He had his throat slit about 10 minutes before you came in here for a drink tonight. Curious."

"Look man, we're in a small town. Everybody lives within 10 minutes walk from here."

"Yes but not everybody walks in here with blood on his pants and shoes." Long Con looked down and grimaced. He hadn't been careful enough.

"I guarantee you that I did not kill Sloonei," Long Con insisted.

"Is that because you were busy killing DrWilgy while someone else dispatched Sloonei?"

"You think you've got it all figured out, don't you?" Long Con jeered.

"It's my job to get answers," the man said as he pulled out a knife.

"Blow it out your ass, man. I ain't talking."

"We'll see about that," the man said. He went behind the chair. Long Con screamed in pain as the man slowly drove the tip of the knife into his little finger. "Did you kill DrWilgy?"

"I don't know anything about it," Long Con said, trying to be stoic. The man dug the knife in deeper.

"Lie to me again and I cut your finger off! Did you kill Sloonei?"

"Go to hell." The words were no sooner out of his mouth than pain ripped through Long Con's hand. The man showed him his severed pinky.

"If you don't start talking, I'm taking your thumb next." Long Con's eyes flashed wide. "Did you kill DrWilgy?" Long Con stuttered and paused. The man went back around the chair.

"Yes! I killed him!"

"Who do you work for?"

"What does it matter?" Long Con screamed again as the man began digging into his metacarpophalangeal joint. "The 5's! The 5's! I'm with the Fatal 5's."

"Tell me who you are," the man said, keeping just enough pressure on the Long Con's thumb to keep him disoriented with pain. "Do it now!"

"I'm number 10!" Long Con screamed. "I can downgrade votes."

"Interesting," the man said. "You've had quite a number of roles so far. This is you fourth. Seems like you've been a popular target."

"What can I say?" Long Con laughed. "People like to kill me."

"Why did you kill Wilgy?"

"Because Wilgy isn't part of the plan."

"What plan?"

"You have no idea what you're dealing with. Kill me and I just move on. Teams don't matter now and you're on the outside. We're more than just the 5's, you know. Our reach is vast and there's nothing you can do to stop us."

The man looked at his partners. "Take him back to our base. I want to extract more information out of him in a more secure location."

They pulled Long Con to his feet, put a bag over his head and marched him toward the storm cellar door at the back of the basement. No sooner did they lift the door than a shot rang out. Everyone dropped and took cover. The man grabbed Long Con and tried to march him into a more secure position but Long Con didn't comply. The man saw Long Con's hood was wet with blood.

"Dammit!" the man yelled.
