This.

And good job all!!

I will read back this evening, good news is while I had a long day today, I do NOT have jury duty, so I should have no worries re Mafia time.
Congrats - that sounded like it would have been AWFUL.
We were in a giant room with over 300 people. They needed 92 (4 groups of 23). And when they asked who was ready, willing and able, they got over 100. So the rest of us were free to go. And yeah, it would be really interesting if I wasn't the only person where I work who knows how to do what I do, lol. Someday, but not today.

So Scotty was an Indy? But Jack is a Republican? So rereading him, I guess.

Scotty was beyond independent. He was a last man standing serial killer. This is, in my opinion, the best possible Day 1 outcome short of a mafia powered role getting taken out instead.

I was saying that in terms of priority for reading. Since he was Indy (even if he was the worst kind of Indy and we should all be shouting "Hallelujah" that he's gone) rereading his posts for connections isn't much of a priority.

I know this post was accidentally aimed at me but I'll answer anyway.

We were in Unfortunate Events together but you got lynched on Day 1.

If I had a day kill that I had to use this second, I'd shoot Mac. Three seconds in and he's sure I'm scum? Never played with him before so his certainty is either a bluff or a lie (depending on his alignment and if he's bad, how many scum he thinks exist outside his group). Plenty of townies are jokingly certain of scum on Day 1 but with two posts about it, I get the impression he isn't joking. Some townies can act really certain on Day 1 when they actually just have a hunch. Don't know Mac's meta to know if he plays that type of a townie game or if he's just looking for a mislynch or to look like he's contributing.

I'm not actually planning on voting for Mac, though. I'm planning on voting for whoever pings me enough that I want to lead a lynch or my top suspect that is getting enough votes to make them lynchable. (I don't vote third party very often cause I want my vote to matter.) I don't know who that is, yet, but I'll let you know.
thellama73 meant for his post to be for notsawyer.
thellama73 wrote:Oh, wait a minute. Notsawyer is the one who apologized for not being entertaining. Same question to you, Notsawyer. Who do you suspect and why?
JoH went out of his way to respond to this.

Does this look contrived? My view is that it isn't. First, there was a reference to Unfortunate Events. Second, JoH goes on to talk about having a Day kill, which llama didn't ask about (incidentally, coupled with Mac's baseless jump on JoH, I'd say this makes MacDougall look worse, not better- the "I'm not actually planning on voting Mac [but I'd shoot him]" doesn't help).

Out of this, I like llama more and MacDougall less.

Why you seem so bad then?
I don't know, Mac.

Why don't you tell me why you think I'm bad? Please be more detailed than your post about the cut of my jib.

Can you tell me more about yourself? How often do you catch scum on Day 1? How often do you act more sure of alignments than you really are? Whats your favorite role? You a site native or migrant mafia player? How long have you been playing?

I'm comfortable with Scotty voting for me early. Doesn't mean he's town but I've played enough with Scotty to kinda get his play style and I think is vote on me matches his style. I don't know you, though.

Am I McStrangepost? What's strange about which post?
Yeah, this looks contrived as hell. I'd vote Mac.

Again. :shifty:

I haven't decided where to move it yet, but Notsawyer, for being wishy-washy, might get it. And JackofHearts, for being annoying and not answering questions seriously, might get it.
Can you be more specific?

I don't think there's a real question I've been asked that I didn't take seriously.

Convince me you aren't just being opportunistic by saying you might vote for one of the players who already has two votes for no real reason.

I might do the thing I always do on Day 1 and follow Epignosis's case, since he appears to be right.

More informative and less feely would be the following:
"If Wilgy is innocent, this would mean that he joked around with a mafia member more than other players."

What a pleasant surprise. To be honest, I didn't think JackOH was bad. Not to take anything from Scotty's hunting skills, I don't think he would have wanted to take out a baddie, since that would mean he would have to be the last man standing, and that is probably harder than winning with the mafia, but who knows. I don't get why he was going after the person he wanted to take down with him anyway. Wouldn't that be a waste?

I have a screen cap from before I changed my time from Summer. So it's at least 50 minutes before the end of the day, but I believe it was earlier. I opened another window at some point to see the names of the players, and I did it much earlier. How do I post it?

Looking at the voting pattern, Quin voted for notsawyer after Jack had 2 votes. A good way to try and save your friend. Scotty didn't have votes at that point yet (unless I missed a switch of vote somewhere along the way). So I think that would be a good place to start. Baddies often like to vote early on a lynch wagon so they don't seem like they are bandwagoning. If his suspicions were genuine, DF is another good option to look into.

Epi, I have to disagree on Mac. It doesn't seem contrived to me, not to mention the fact that Jack was not at risk of getting lynched at the time Mac moved his vote from him to notsawyer, and keeping it there would have looked pretty good for him later on
I tend to agree on llama. His confusion between Jack and Sawyer felt genuine, and I actually found it hard to set the two apart at first.

Then, there's the list of those voting for Scotty. I believe the baddies probably spread their votes around, and since Jack put his vote there, the chances for another baddie there are lower. I don't think it's notsawyer because I think he was being used as a possible target. I now don't think it's Marmot either.
Not sure yet whether you could be bad, but I'm not seeing it for now, and Eloh feels good to me.

I think there is a baddie in one of the solo voters or someone who didn't vote

@fz, my thoughts on Scotty are that, while winning as LMS us harder, it is more challenging and fun. In addition, lynching a Republican would get him some cred, right? As I understood Scotty's role, he knew Jacks?

I started rereading Jacks posts and interactions, will finish at work.

Thanks!

I just figured you were kicking it old school and not doing a poll thread. That thread is great but it spoils people. I remember games where people spent hours in thread reconstructing polls. Don't want to do that again, lol.

@Epi, is that something Wilgy does, goof around with teammates in thread? I don't recall him really much interacting in thread with his team in last years GOC but otherwise I don't have much basis of comparison. Because unless he does that seems like a rather null action to me.

Also in your read back of Jack what were your thoughts on his posts regarding the discussion Quin and I had, and Jacks interpretation of it.

Same question for Quin, actually.

Yeah, but you took your vote off of him and placed it on me, so I don't see that as vindication. And I see these two followup posts as an attempt to become a "confirmed civ." :eye:

Good work. What do you think is the most important thing we should take from this?

Also, I would like to point out that DFaraday, who has only three posts so far, came in close to the vote and claimed that he "randomized" his vote for me. Does anyone know of any scheduling or personal issues that preclude him from participating more fully?

While I'm on the topic of scheduling, I have three classes today and my commute is about an hour, so I'll be out with no computer access until it's Daytime in-game.

To be fair, it looked like Scotty had to pick his name on Night 0, a time when he could hardly have had a read on anyone.

Now, see, I took the exact opposite from that post. I thought he was being snide, lol. Even with the "no joke" qualifier. Becasue if what he said was even remotely true, Epi would win every game he plays as a civvie. While Epi can be awesome, no one is awesome ALL the time.
