Deadly Reactions

Mediocrates peered close, furrowing his brow as he tried to locate the Air elements he had isolated pure samples of. One seemed to be holding together just fine, laughing, singing, and dancing in the breeze, as the breeze... but where was the other?

It seemed to the alchemist that the other elements had grown resentful of Air's free-spirited ways... and Mediocrates agreed! What was Air anyway - just some invisible thing that supposedly filled the spaces where other things were not? As a scientist, he was inclined to scoff at the notion. Invisible indeed. Those other elements were right to push Air out!

Then something caught his eye, a delightful chase... perhaps evidence of love between elements? One of the Fires was playfully dancing after a Water, while the Water giggled and chased after the other Fire. A slow smile spread across Mediocrates' face as the innocent romantic game played out before his eyes. Fire + Water.... Water + Fire. A slight frown clouded his expression for a moment, as he almost remembered something... something important?

As the three elements collided in a laughing steam, Mediocrates remembered - Fire and Water?! Oh no, nonono, I have to-- but it was too late. The steam cleared, and a tear came to the alchemist's eye as he watched Water peering around, left and right, looking for its lost playmates.

sig has been lynched. He was Air.

G-Man and Dom have both died. Both Fire, they had unfortunate reactions with Water. Tough luck guys!

Night 1 has begun, and will last for roughly 24 hours.

Rough way to go out so early. Sets a brutal tone for the game, though, to know that it's probable the kills were unintentional, and it seems like the same outcome happened in both target directions, and one of them brought on their own death by their choice of target, so that's even rougher.

Water extinguishing Fire makes sense. You are Earth, right? What's the counterpart to Earth? Air? Maybe the other Air could target you next and see what happens.

Or, and this would be my preferred choice, they could not do that. That'd be, like, really cool.

I'm pretty in favor of lynching somebody. Like I sort of understand the sentiment behind wanting to let everyone get through one phase and combine their element, but for the sake of my own interests, it's LMS so I just want to go ahead and start eliminating other players. No lynch just drags out the process. Delays the carnage if you will.

I agree with this. Voting No Lynch in a LMS game is like lynching a civ while playing as a civ - it doesn't help you at all. It's the opposite of what your role is trying to accomplish.

Such are the thoughts of a foolish man.

Allow me to enlighten you my dude:

The goal of the game isn't "murder everyone" It's "Don't get murdered"

Therefore, and without question, the soundest initial strategy is peace in our time. If no one is lynched, everyone has an opportunity to mesh with at least one element, and more importantly, get some information as to with whom they would or would not prefer to mesh elements, team up, etc.

Mindlessly lynching, on Day 1, places the individual at a disadvantage. For one, there is no guarantee that the person getting lynched won't be you. For another, you may find you lynched an element that would have been mission critical to your success.

This is a smart post.

No consecutive picking. No double-targeting. You may combine with the same player/element more than once.

Currently waiting for some role info, and I also somehow got a chatzy? No idea why.
I'll be keeping quiet on the role info unless it becomes advantageous for everyone if I out one of the people I have info on.

Of course, all of us are getting a little bit of info: The role we targeted.

Honestly, it kinda sucks. I can't Chatzy at work, only Quicktopic. As other people will agree, if they did survivor with me, I am like the worst candidate for BTSC.

To explain further, the user has a different message than the other. Water would be "Water + Fire = The other player dies" and Fire would be "Fire + Water = You die."

PSI and... spirit? IDK, and I don't want to narrow myself down just yet. It wasn't my action that gave me chat. I targeted earth.

There may be variances in how certain elements interact based on the acting element, and there may be instances where the order matters not. More experimentation is my solution. Only through experimentation can answers be truly discovered.

This is all so interesting. I wish i was supee awesome a spreadsheets and could try to figure everything out, but i think it would make my brain hurt so I think I'll just play and have fun with all the surprises I encounter.

I combined with Epignosis, who was the first to request to fuse with me. It worked out well.

I'm not gonna say publicly what his role is, as there seems to be certain fatal combinations of elements, and I don't necessarily want to screw him over.
