i can also vouch for this,.Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2017 3:09 pm I suppose speedchuck could be the Old Testament number too, but the verses he has spoofed are not all OT verses. I doubt he is the Pope number, but that would be a good one to fake role claim. You would imply you were impervious to NKs, making people less likely to use one on you. Of course, if we thought he really was the Pope, we could simply lynch him, making his immunity to NKs a non-issue.
Side note, whoever gets #42, don't wait until the very end of the game to push that button! Trust me on that one...
What a good game.
Also I think Golden is relating religion with superstition?

The first quote suggests its a role where the person who targets Speedchuck is affected negatively. 13 isn't the only role that does that, but it's particularly extreme, and I also note that it was the first thing on speed's radar to say.
The third quote is psalm 13.
Not sure about how the Timothy quote fits in, but two out of three aint bad.

What team do you think it would be best to try and eliminate? Let's see if we get an answer or a non-answer.

The timothy passage was just a pointer to tell people to look at the scriptures, that they would help. The other two clues you nailed. Congrats! I will not be voting for you this game.

Good morning everyone, rico maybe someone has asked this but what makes you think there is a mafia? Also, just fyi for everyone else, rico is emulating a style he uses when playing popcorn mafia which is kind of a speed mafia played on mafia universe so it's a style I've seen before. That info probably doesn't make a difference on how you feel about what he is doing but I did want to share that I've seen it before. It was not indicative as to whether he was bad or good, he did it as both factions.

There is no bad or good in this game, so I doubt it says anything about Rico.
But there are no wolves, witches, or mafia. And that makes this discourse useless.

As a bit of an insight into the approach I will probably take to this game, don't think that it's actual mafia and thus won't actually be treating it as such - we are all either scum or scum in transition and so there's no real reason for what I can tell to pretend that we are either town or mafia - we are all just people trying to survive in this harsh harsh world (unless we get a baddie serial killer role!). As of the first day, my plan is to vote either a lurker or someone who rubs me wrong - for days after that I'll probably participate in alliances with people who seem fun/cool/allianceable!

Re: [DAY 0] Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3
We aren't all necessarily trying to survive in our current form, however, at least at this early stage. I think this game morphs over time. One thing to be wary of is teams growing to big. At the moment, my guess is things are balanced, but one team could easily gain an advantage if they manage to grow and keep members alive. I don't think it's as simple as treating everyone the same and assuming there aren't going to be people who it's more in your interests to knock off.Nachomamma8 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2017 5:06 pm As a bit of an insight into the approach I will probably take to this game, don't think that it's actual mafia and thus won't actually be treating it as such - we are all either scum or scum in transition and so there's no real reason for what I can tell to pretend that we are either town or mafia - we are all just people trying to survive in this harsh harsh world (unless we get a baddie serial killer role!). With the knowledge that we're all going to be getting new roles upon "death", I would suggest that it's beneficial to the eventual town team if we all state our roles/numbers right now, before anyone has died and gone unnumbered. The better we keep track of which numbers have been used up, the more footing we'll have later on.
But I'm not actually going to tell you what number I am because I don't know if I agree with a word I just said.

There is no town/mafia alignments. Just a bunch of teams all trying to win and one SK. And until deaths start occurring we won't even know if the SK is out there yet or not.

Re: [DAY 0] Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3
I am kind of envisioning the game eventually trickling down to a more-or-less standard Town vs. Scum mafia game, with one team in the majority trying to save themselves from a small minority team. I suppose this could go in any direction though. I assume 1 is being held for the end of the game by THE GAME.

BWAA! BWAA! BWAA!
YOUR ATTENTION! YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE.
LET ME MAKE IT ABUNDANTLY CLEAR ONCE MORE TO YOU ALL THAT THERE ARE NO CIVVIES OR BADDIES IN THIS SIMULATION, NOR WILL THERE EVER BE. AS IN THE REAL WORLD, GOOD AND BAD ARE COMPLETELY RELATIVE TO THE INDIVIDUAL HERE. THE ONLY 'GOOD GUYS' IN EXISTENCE IS THE TEAM YOU ARE ON AT THE TIME. STAGE 2 OF THE SIMULATION WILL NOT EVOLVE INTO A STANDARD GAME LIKE YOU ARE USED TO. LET THAT SINK IN. YOUR SKULLS ARE INDEED A MERE 6.5 MILLIMETERS OR 7.1 MILLIMETERS THICK, FOR MEN AND WOMEN RESPECTIVELY. PLEASE DON'T MAKE IT SEEM ANY GREATER A CHALLENGE THAN THAT. I'M IN MY YELLOW PHASE AND MY PATIENCE IS SHORT.
IF YOU WISH TO BE OPEN WITH EACH OTHER ABOUT YOUR ROLES, THAT IS FAIR GAME. JUST KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU MUST TRUST THAT EACH OF YOU IS TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT SUCH INFORMATION. THERE ARE, AFTER ALL, CERTAIN ROLES THAT IT WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS, STRATEGIC EVEN, TO CLAIM EARLY ON. THERE ARE ONLY A FEW WAYS TO VERIFY ANYONE'S ROLE BUT I'M NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO MY PART IN THAT SHORT LIST UNTIL STAGE 2 ROLLS AROUND.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO ASK THEM. IF I AM FEELING GRACIOUS, I SHALL GRANT YOU WISDOM BEYOND YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. I COULD ALSO REJECT YOU LIKE THE REPUGNANT CLASS-3 BOTTOM-DWELLERS THAT YOU ARE. EITHER WAY, ONE OF US GETS SOMETHING OUT OF IT.
ENOUGH FOR NOW. THE ONE CALLING HIMSELF 'SLOONEI' IS HEREBY PUNISHED FOR HIS ARROGANCE AND DEFIANCE OF MY MANDATE TO RULE OVER YOU UNQUESTIONED. BEGINNING WITH THE DAY 1 POST, SLOONEI SHALL RECEIVE A PENALTY VOTE FOR ANY POST THAT IS NOT 100% GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT. LET THIS BE A LESSON TO THE REST OF YOU- TEST ME AND I WILL PUNISH YOU.

Re: [DAY 0] Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3
I was not trying to imply that any team in this game is the designated GOOD or the designated BAD, but that eventually the numbers (heh) might shake out so that we are in a situation where the game might be functioning as a regular mafia game. Though I suppose every team having BTSC available to them makes that less likely to work out.

I'm trying to survive in my current form. I'd recommend to most people to try to survive as well - you'll *probably* have a better chance of winning!Golden wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2017 5:09 pmWe aren't all necessarily trying to survive in our current form, however, at least at this early stage. As of the first day, my plan is to vote either a lurker or someone who rubs me wrong - for days after that I'll probably participate in alliances with people who seem fun/cool/allianceable!
I'm sure the landscape of the game will change as things progress - don't think it will ever change into "mafia" as Sloonei seems to think and am glad it will never change into mafia but I've laid out the approach I think is best for this moment, doesn't mean it will dictate my play for the rest of the game.

Sloonei gets a penalty vote every time he makes a grammatically incorrect post or he gets a penalty vote if he messed up period?
If it's the former I think we might be able to bury him via reported infractions, and even if causing his death invited my own I think it might be excellent fun to play grammar Nazi for a little while.

Why does surviving in current form increase a persons chances of winning?Nachomamma8 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2017 6:50 pmI'm trying to survive in my current form. I'd recommend to most people to try to survive as well - you'll *probably* have a better chance of winning!

I won't incur any penalty votes. My English degree finally has value.Nachomamma8 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2017 6:54 pm Sloonei gets a penalty vote every time he makes a grammatically incorrect post or he gets a penalty vote if he messed up period?
