ITCHING FOR A KILL

It had been a while since the Evil Evens had a chance to kill. One of their members was eager but wary of rust. He approached his intended target slowly and quietly down the alley. His prey had just rounded the corner when a voice spoke out right next to him.

"Hello there."

The Evil Even gave a start. The last thing he expected was to come face to face with The Lone Gunman himself. Sweat trickled down his brow. He managed a meager 'hello' and swallowed hard.

"Hey man, I'm not here to kill you. I just figured, while I'm out for a stroll, I ought to admire the handiwork of others. You going for what's his face over there?"

"Yeah," the Evil Even said.

"Well go get him, tiger" The Lone Gunman cheered and gave the Evil Even a hard pat on the shoulder.

The Evil Even sprang out from behind the corner and threw a razor sharp ninja star at his target. It bounced off the back of his target's head with a thud and clanged on the cobblestone street. The almost-victim looked around indignantly.

"Screw you, jackass!" he shouted and promptly gave the Evil Even the finger. He walked away grumbling about how the place was all going downhill these days.

"Thank, pal," The Lone Gunman said. "I needed a good laugh." The Evil Even pouted. "Now," let me show you how a professional operates. See those two clowns over there? Watch this."

Quic as lightning, The Lone Gunman climbed a downspout, leaped rooftop to rooftop, and performed an artful double flip as he dropped right between his two targets. He flicked a dagger out from each of his sleeves and thrust his arms out, stabbing both men in the stomach.

The knives sank in as they should have but there were no cries of agony. Both men looked down at their stomachs, then back up at their attacker. One clapped him hard across the face, knocking him down. The other spat on him and they both walked off with one heck of a story to tell.

"You are so disappointing on so many levels," growled a voice from up the alley. The Lone Gunman looked up to see a Sinister 6 shaking his head. He scratched his arm for a moment, which drew the attention of the two failed killers.

"You sick?" one asked.

"Me?" the 6 said, not realizing he had been scratching. "Uh, no, it's just a bug bite. Yeah. Anyway, here's how you kill someone without screwing up."

He marched out into the open street and walked up behind Quin. He laced his left hand on the back of Quin's head, his right hand on the chin, and twisted as fast and hard as he could. Quin died with an audible crunch and a thud.

The Sinister 6 walked away, scratching his arm. "Amateurs."
