I am treating the above five as town until I have a reason not to do so. DH is probably the weakest of those 5 townreads since I can see him campaigning like he did even as scum, but his implementation was REALLY pro-town when it didn't have to be.

I am really shocked that luna was human. She seemed to stumble all over herself the whole time she was alive. But... I've been in her position before and sometimes once you make a couple mistakes, it is difficult to recover as people's minds are made up and they will find fault in everything, like I did.
Banners are cool, but a pain to scroll through so...

I've been wanting to see a little more from TH for a while now, so I'm willing to vote for him to get the flamethrower, partly to see how he steps up to the plate.

There's a specific way in which Quin disagrees with literally everyone... and how he doesn't give a crap... usually, I see that from town Quin, with a certain belligerently honest tone to it. That's one of the secrets of my quindar. That's a bit of what genuquin means.

This post is bad cause you want town to have the flamethrower and the only town you know so early is you. This is like “lol I’m not a threat.”

Not derpclearing this at all Sprityo is aware of flamethrower mechanics but not mafia mechanics? I don’t entirely buy that.

Quin's not wrong and normally I'd find it really suspicious that Sprityo then torched Mac, who was town. As is, I just find it pretty suspicious. Like Mac's instincts are too good to lynch him D1 without good reason. We'll see if there was such reason.

I mean right now I'm looking for thoughts on sprityo. I think Jack brought up a good point about a scum sprit abusing the general dislike of inactives as an excuse to torch Mac early.

Jack could get torched for playing on the fringes but I want to give him a little leash and see what he does with it

I've got a few town reads that won't likely face the napalm end of this thing

If there's another popular candidate I'll put some pressure on them, I might try to rattle Chuck's cage a bit

My thoughts on Sprityo:

I don't like his D1 play very much if at all. I don't mind that he torched a non-voter, but I do mind that he didn't bother to offer his own input/reads/suspects all day and essentially coasted, to borrow a phrase from his D2 nova case. Speaking of Day 2, his nova interaction was a fair bit better than his Day 1 stuff even if parts of it I lean more on nova's side. I could see the argument against Sprityo for his Day 1 play and for picking Mac to torch tho.

mind that sprityo's thing was about non-voters, not non-participants. hence jack was on his list too.

but if I were going to burn mac, jack or doc, i'd have burned doc based on recent track record for participation. Town doesn't need

Well my point being Sprityo's statement that he randomized between the non-voters and got Mac is a shade rank for a few reasons.

If one holds that Sprityo was going with the anti-inactive crowd so as not to ruffle feathers, Doc was the obvious choice so a Song-and-Dance around a Mac lynch seems unnecessary. But if he was genuinely concerned with inactivity, the logical pick would have been Doc. So the theory I'm gathering is that he picked Mac instead to head off what he anticipated would be a dangerous player once Mac got his sea legs.

"Appealing to the inactive crowd" and "Actually concerned with inactivity" are two separate issues RE: Sprit. In the latter, a Doc vote makes more sense I think. In the former, a Mac vote via randomizer is plausible.

DharmaHelper wrote: Tue Oct 23, 2018 12:44 am Well my point being Sprityo's statement that he randomized between the non-voters and got Mac is a shade rank for a few reasons.

So the theory I'm gathering is that he picked Mac instead to head off what he anticipated would be a dangerous player once Mac got his sea legs.
i don't struggle to see a world where sprityo genuinely intends to burn a non-voter at the start of day 1, but sees an opportunity in the inactive mac and burns him using 'fairness' as a cover.

'fairness' in sprityo's day 1 choice means the same thing as pure randomisation. it's not town compatible.

Why are you just now bringing up this concept Quin/DH? If it was such an issue the first day when it was occurring, why not make that point then?

I was about to ask TH this. Then I realised

"well, I didn't think about it either."
