An Australian Country Murder Mystery Signups

Post by MacDougall »

An Australian Country Murder Mystery - Heist Game for 13 Players

Armidale, a picturesque town on the Northern Tablelands of NSW, Australia, is a quintessential slow moving country town with simple townsfolk. When the dead body of a missing teenager is discovered on a local sheep station two young police detectives are assigned to the case. A classic murder mystery set in picturesque rural Australia.

Cast of characters -

Matilda Shearer - Tucker's Daughter, the quintessential girl next door and love interest of Ian "Willo" Wilson.

Ian "Willo" Wilson - A rogueish sheep shearer who's new in town that has caught the eye of young Matilda.

Tucker Shearer - Struggling sheep station owner and father of Matilda Shearer.

Det. Morris Lawrence - One of the police detectives assigned to the homicide investigation and childhood friend of Matilda.

Det. Henrietta Whiteside - The junior police detective assigned to the homicide investigation.

Sgt. Simon Holdsworth - The senior local police officer. Close friend of Tucker Shearer.

Humphrey "Ballyhoo" Nicholson - Owner of the rival sheep station on the other side of the valley. He's been trying to purchase Tucker's farm to expand his operations but Tucker refuses.

Yuki Nicholson - Ballyhoo's beautiful new bride. She is mysterious and mostly keeps to herself.

Sheila Nicholson - The bar manager at the Armidale Arms Tavern and daughter of Ballyhoo.

Rev. Terry McLeod - The local church leader and childhood friend of Matilda.

Darren Skinner - A local at the Tavern who occasionally helps out on the farm. Brother of Karen and Sharon Skinner.

Sharon Skinner - The fun-loving town gossip, she knows everything and everyone. Sister of Karen and Darren.

Karen Skinner - A devoutly religious and up tight conservative woman and mother of two. Sister of Sharon and Darren.

Setup:

This game is semi-closed and the killers will be chosen at random immediately before the game begins. You may claim your characters, infodump and roleplay accordingly. There are three killers in this game. There is one "cop" and one godfather. Old school Mafia set on a sunburnt Aussie outback backdrop. There will be flavour.

Crikey! I've been out in the bush for far too long. Time for me to come out of the woop woop. I've got a furphy or two to share, that's for sure.

Let's round up a few more dags so we can quit giving the Aussie Salute and get playing. We want to get this done before Chrissie comes around.

Good on ya, mate! Looking forward to it.

What is this, a TV show?

From the title I thought it was Ms. Fisher.

I haven't played a game in awhile. This one sounds fun. I like a good murder mystery party. Not sure if I've played a Mac game yet.

I didn't expect this to fill up so quickly. I may be a little lowkey early on.

that said. let's get those two slots filled asap. Heists are nice.

Lowering expectations early? Check.

Forced eagerness to carry on anyway? Check.

Man, this is just too easy.

Our official descriptors say it can be either. I thought so, but I wanted to check.
