What game?
I don't remember the theme. g-man hosted and day 1 four townies randomly lynched my scum teammate while they were the only players around and nothing could be done about it. All four of them basically became lockcleared mechanically. It was miserable. Sloonei had a killer read on me at endgame though, so in some sense it was worth it.

So is it that you were frustrated in that one and you are frustrated here? I'm not trying to trick you, I'm just trying to understand why memories of that game might affect you in this one.

Sometimes it will naturally come out, but it can be contained if we just remember that this is a game on a message board forum that 99.99% of the population of the Earth has never heard of before. No matter how successful anyone is, it means just about nothing.

I don't think we should assume affiliations are tied to roleplaying in any way. That's a bad way to run an open set-up game.

Since Juliets is another main suspect I thought I'd toss this up here. A couple posts from now he suggests lynching her. Possibly an indicator of 'not W/W'.
TonyStarkPrime wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 6:40 pm I don't like the Sloonei secret lynch it seems wrong. I agree that we need to resolve the slot and having inactives towards game-end can be problematic, but it's still relatively early. There's no reason to assume long term that the slot will remain empty.

My scum reads converging on it as an option suggests that we have the possibility of double scum lynch in our options range here.
But possibly W/W with sloonei. Assuming the worst, I know.
TonyStarkPrime wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 10:07 pm To Jack's earlier point, I noted very early that I think the best option is to go for the unpaired wolves, here Nutella and Juliets.

Which requires me to say something to MPs point about the possibility of neither of them being scum: well that would suck, wouldn't it? It's not that I distinctly haven't considered that possibility, but the spaces without one of them being scum are rather limited and we'd immediately be forced to consider more unlikely combinations. If we lynch both we get over the "this'll be an easy game" mentality that can sink so many towns sooner rather than later.
Suggesting the Juliets lynch with nutella, as I said earlier.

M Plus 7 wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2020 6:23 pm Hey Tony, what are your reads right now?
I’m willing to townclear Jack. I think I’ll have an opportunity to examine Wilgy today — I don’t think he should be cleared long term for his derp, but it’s worth something.
Nanook and Hyena are the typical townreads. I’m less sure on both of them. I thought Hyena was scum early, but they’ve contributed a fair amount. Nanook probably sorts himself pretty quickly— there are obvious places to start for any sort of analysis. Your slot is vague and I haven’t played with you before (unless you count your first day), so I’m basically now trying to get ahold of your day 1 meta. That leaves Speed and Juliets. I cannot read Juliets. Nutella was pretty certain she was scum, but that softened towards the end and there’s always a certain town energy here to not lynch the rival train from the day before. Speed is left— I don’t think he’s playing like he had previous times I’ve seen him as scum, but he seems to me both the most likely to be scum and the most likely to provide information in his defense.
This is my participation for today, but Ive constructed a light schedule for myself tomorrow so I should be around more.
This starts with only Jack towncleared and then ends with a POE of just me and I'm not sure I understand that.

-----------------------------------------------------------

There are other posts in the ISO but few of them stood out to me as negative or definitely positive. They were either filler or prodding questions or the like, which can be town or scum.
Tony is, in my estimation, a good candidate for lynch. There aren't any 'GOTCHA's in here on either side. A couple solid town pings, about 2-3 times as many solid negative pings. I'd love to hear opinions, and I'd love tony to clear up a few things.
Is it possible MP had given up on him and wanted to distance as much as possible? If MP could towncore himself into being that last slot of the POE, in MYLO, he might have had a chance.

Image

Tony is one of the few who townread Wilgy, and is also less present than a lot of other people. AND he was in private chat with Wilgy, so wilgy had special insight to him. I sort of feel like that would make him more likely to kill wilgy last night.

(my gut still says it's nanook though.)
Wilgy and Tony townread each other though, right?

Wilgy still has additional context on Tony. I guess?

I don't know, man. Who do you think would kill Wilgy?

I don't remember the theme. g-man hosted and day 1 four townies randomly lynched my scum teammate while they were the only players around and nothing could be done about it. All four of them basically became lockcleared mechanically. It was miserable. Sloonei had a killer read on me at endgame though, so in some sense it was worth it.
So is it that you were frustrated in that one and you are frustrated here? I'm not trying to trick you, I'm just trying to understand why memories of that game might affect you in this one.
No, I'm just expressing a general distaste for the situation we currently find ourselves in and the mechanic that led us here.

The exchange with MR that got Tony some town cred. I don't think it's bad, bot not worthy of cred either. This MR vote lacks substance, has no case, and should NEVER have remained till the end of the day. Textbook distancing, because nobody is going to follow up on it.

It's not that I distinctly haven't considered that possibility, but the spaces without one of them being scum are rather limited and we'd immediately be forced to consider more unlikely combinations. It’s not from a general rule standpoint. It’s also from a mindset standpoint. MP was in good spirits and also not really hammering Tony or Juliets or Wilgy in particular.

It feels in particular like the mindset of a wolf who knew we were headed for a town lynch and that either his partner was safe or he was thinking he’d be able to manipulate the POE on later days to make sure wolves were out of it. I think he pulls out some stuff to try to make himself look antialigned with Tony or Juliets if they’re his teammate or he works harder to expand the poe or shift them out of it.

Just being like “I’m fine with this” as we lynch his partner Tony or his partner Juliets is likely to go tomorrow does not seem like a winning strategy. We know MP is capable of Herculean effort. All he did was try to add DDL to the POE (citation needed).

Like I also don’t think wolf Juliets goes with the “but why am I scum” defense while letting me control our vote and privately expressing concern that Tony is town if she’s teamed with MP. That’s not opening the POE. That’s not taking her or her partner out of it. That’s shrinking it.
I’ve done the “agendaless wolf” play that I’m saying I don’t think Juliets is making.

It has resulted in me being POED out. It has resulted in very close games where I won because players were modkilled, giving me the extra town death I wasn’t going to get via mislynches.

And Juliets, amazing as her tone is, does not tend to passionately fight tooth and nail to prevent her own scum lynch the way I do. We both live our scum games on the bubble but she uses purity to be second or third priority and her own reads and opinions to not vote her partner whereas I lead mislynches and argue strongly that I’ve done townie things.

That is, I can live in a 4 player POE that contains both wolves, knowing I have a decent chance to force myself out of it or force someone into it or force a particular lynch order. Juliets cannot. She needs (and finds) a 5 player POE with 2 wolves in it or a 4 player POE with 1 wolf in it. She was not acting like wolf Juliets that needed to question a clear on a player outside the POE or just not see why MP could be a wolf and refuse to vote there.
I mean, I’m not saying your argument is wrong or bad, it’s just...I don’t find it particularly compelling. I am 100% happy to kill chuck and see if that ends the game though, we can have this disagreement tonight if necessary :p

The other argument with Jules is that a) MP didnt look likely to be TKed when she left thread, and b) if she left thread with her vote parked somewhere to force Jack’s hand that’s sort of outing, yeah?

I think it's because your style of play is so anathema to me.

Or because you've been tunnelling me all game.

Or because you're scum.

Could be all three quite frankly, but might be just two.

I'm not sure what you mean by the second item "if I left the thread with my vote parked somewhere to force Jack's hand". Jack and I shared a vote. I left the thread with the understanding there would probably be EOD chaos. I left the vote in his hands with no stipulations to not vote someone. How does that force his hand and out me?

If everyone still suspects you, it clears two players.

I still don’t like it cause I’m not lynching you anyway. If I’m gonna lynch Hyena, I want it to be because I suspect Hyena most.

But that's not true. I could have said "I don't approve of a vote for MP, DDL (or anyone I thought Jack was reading as town) or me." That would have made MP one person in a list which is less suspect. Honestly though, if I was mafia I would have forced myself to stay to the end. I wouldn't have left my vote in someone else's hands.

With one scum completely inactive, do any of myself, Hyena, or DDL pull a hard bus on MR D1?

-DDL made the case. He made it well and with conviction.
-I followed the case, campaigned against sig, and convinced Hyena.
-Hyena pushed Nanook to self-preserve on MR, which put MR in the lead at the time.

Do with that what you will. The sig wagon is still mostly alive and that sucks.

I don't believe any of you bussed MR under those circumstances. I said so somewhere way back in this game.

So this clarifies for me: my belief in the non-bus of MR and my belief that Jack is town leaves me with Tony, Nanook, and DDL as possibilities. DDL is universally townread because of his push on MR Day 1 and his letting Nanook guide him to voting MP in 3 minutes. So that leaves Tony and Nanook, both sig voters Day 1.

No Jules, I’m saying if you’re mafia and you parked your vote somewhere then left thread that would out you.

I’m saying you kind of had to leave it in Jack’s hands, regardless of your alignment.
I mean, that’s the kind of thing that I’ll believe when we’re not in the middle of a game :p
I know it's WIFOMy but really, can you see anyone who is mafia leaving the game and leaving their vote in the hands of someone else at EOD? It just doesn't make sense. You don't have to answer, your position is clear I guess.

linki - are you calling my logic flawed? I'm willing to listen and acknowledge if it is but you'll need to explain it to me.

Or someone else can tell me why it's flawed.

When the alternative is semi-outing yourself, then yes I do think it makes sense lol
