Great last second lynch. 10/10. Would do again.

Update I know what’s going on now. Sloonei and Dizzy are telling me that they’re lock town along with Quin and Timmer. I think that comes with some caveats but I’m willing to accept it for now. I’ll have to wait for the final polling to put anything as a for sure, but I think you have

Confirmed* Town
[Sloonei
Quin
Dizzy
Timmer]

Town people:
[TSP
Dom
Epi]

Meh:
[Sig
LC
DDL
Wilgy]

Who?:
[Mac
No Show 1
No Show 2]

Anyone wanna give me odds remaining mafia are in solely the bottom two groups?

If I could conceive of a likely world where you were scum and day 1 went down as it did (and I think you’re the most likely scum just on positioning of the bunch but that’s not particularly strong) I would be absolutely convinced we’re in that world.

I don't know where you're going with this. I don't fear being lynched on this site, it's whatever, people don't know me as well. I'm excited we lynched scum. I'm generally an annoying let's get to it player as town, so yeah, if I'm around, I'll just post, push, do whatever and try to further narrow the game down. I don't know why that would be upsetting.

What the fuck is scummy about me nagging players to post more and pushing on players I don't have as town, but have growing suspicion on and that is around? Ok, maybe I'm feeling a bit cocky after what was essentially a lucky lynch, but that is definitely not scummy lol.

Another reason I'm suspicious of you is that instead of checking the flip and reacting to that, you reacted to some nonsense posts and said you had no idea what was going on. If I was away from an EoD I would just go straight to the flip post to check who got lynched and what they flipped as. I mean, what if I got lynched myself? Lol. I realize that not everyone is me, but I find it strange to waste time on being confused-answers and saying you don't know what's going on instead of just checking the flip and going from there. It reads as phony. And when you did react to the flip you said the voters where probably town, very begrudgingly it seems. So that's some reasons I'm suspicious of you right now.

Tony, why are you going specifically after the Fearsome Four? Do you agree with Epi that there's likely a baddie among them?

I don't really want to go after them. They all came together to lynch a baddie Day 1, in hot-potato fashion. That's good enough for me to want to look elsewhere for the next lynch.

I'm having a hard time resolving my gut and the EOD with dizzy.
Ok. What do you want to do about it to resolve it?
woah there tiger does someone need a popsicle?
Always up for a popsicle.
I'd also like for you to comment on my thoughts on Tony. What do you think?

But I’ll take the question in good faith.
No there’s almost never a baddie among them which is why Dizzy can open wolf and probably be fine.
Can you please explain to me how you think I'm open wolfing or being scummy? It would be helpful to me to see if I can understand where you're coming from.

We had an interesting thing occur last night: there was roughly an hour between the vote ending and the host post. While people did not initially know who was lynched, they eventually learned that it was Creature. This means that there was roughly a half hour in which we had lynched a Mafia member, but he had not flipped. With that in mind, we can possibly learn something about some of the players who posted in that time.
I'm ignoring those saints who made the lynch happen for now.
DrWilgy wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:20 pm Neat. I left for 1 hour and everyone starts playing musical votes.

At the very least a chaotic eod more often than not means a baddie is in at least someone's crosshairs.
It is unclear whether or not wilgy knows that Creature was lynched at this time. This post does not really comment on anything specific but is just a general reflection on game trends. It exists.
Long Con wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:21 pm You guys could at least tell me if I ended up with the most votes.
Long Con appears to have been genuinely unsure of who was lynched. This does not tell me much about his alignment or his relationship to Creature. I might lean ever so slightly in his favor because a scum player might have just rolled their eyes and left if they thought they had just been lynched on Day 1. LC stuck around and continued to post.
sig wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:24 pm Hope we lynched sloonie.
Sig was dead wrong about every single thing he said, but his indignation about the Creature lynch is exactly the type of thing that I am looking for in this exercise. sig's overflowing frustration with the way that lynch ended suggests that he genuinely expected Creature to flip town. I would expect that Creature's partners would have been less likely to make a big scene in this interim period, unless their plan was to react with hostility so as to win some town cred. But my general rule is that if the best we can come up with to suspect a player is "maybe WIFOM", then it's not a sound case.

*throws spaghetti* Scum following town, saying "neat"? Not neat.

[VOTE: Wilgy] aubergine
*eats spaghetti* I had already brought up both Timmer and Dom before Sloonei's comment. Very neat.
Wilgy again comments on things in the thread without seeming to care about who got lynched. He's addressing earlier things. I don't hate that he's continuing to play the game, but this sort of disregard for the lynch result is one of the things I thought might be telling when I conceived of this exercise. Creature's teammates already know the result of the lynch and are looking to move on from it. They're probably disappointed and have to scramble a bit, but they don't need to wait to see the result. So they'd be less likely to engage with chatter about the results of the day phase, and more likely to talk about... anything else. Though to be fair, wilgy's responding to something Dizzy said.

This is some shade.

If whoever is it flips town, this may be some pre-emptive attempt to take town cred by shaming others.
:ponder: By this point Creature's name was circulating as the lynchee. I don't think it's impossible that wilgy would have missed it, but I'm also not gonna say he couldn't have feigned ignorance here.

Being unhappy with the only people who were around trying to make something happen is just not a good look.
No you are bad. Don't be in sync with me!
This might be a bit more telling. A Creature teammate who knows that Creature is about to flip scum might be less inclined to continue to go after the dude who just secured Creature's lynch, even if the flip hasn't happened yet. While the rest of us are stuck in limbo, the mafia team knows what's about to happen and have internally moved on. Wilgy is still pushing a Day 1 suspect that would have been made mostly irrelevant by the lynch result.

Dom makes a big post that is heavily anti-Dizzy. I want to highlight one piece in particular:
Dom wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:45 pm
Sloonei wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2020 9:50 pm I also have no reason to single out creature or dom other than that they're the names Dizzy mentioned.

Why are we singling them out?
Because Dizzy thought we were easy lynches.
She may have been right about creature.
This is the first time Dom acknowledges Creature at all, either in this post or in the game in general. Prior to this, Dom had not taken notice of the fact that Creature was being lynched. Now Dizzy "might be right" about him, which would imply that Dizzy is town and that Dom has reason to believe Creature is/was not. I am usually dismissive of these sort of "slips" because they're almost always nonsense. Maybe this one is too. But I'm interested in it for the dramatic shift Dom presents here. He's all anti-Dizzy all the time until this brief moment where he acknowledges that we may have just successfully lynched a bad polka on Day 1. To be clear, the hypothetical suggestion here is that Dom is Creature's partner, and wanted to keep up his case against Dyslexicon for as long as possible, but then was confronted with a moment where he had to, or felt that he had to, acknowledge that Creature was scum. The result is a somewhat awkwardly placed nod of approval toward the lynch.
TonyStarkPrime wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:59 pm What’s going on I’m here who’s dead
Tony's late to the party.
DrWilgy wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2020 11:01 pm Hiya TSP.

Who's Quin's teamate?
:evileye:

And that's about it. If I squint my eyes and stretch things a little I find reasons to suspect wilgy and/or dom a little bit here. I feel mostly good about LC and sig.
Also, while I wasn't bothering to write things about timmer, quin, or dizzy, I'll note here that both timmer and Quin showed town signs during the limbo period between lynch and flip: they both actively entertained ideas about my vote being an attempt to save LC, which is not something that I'd expect Creature partners to care about. I didn't see anything that would give Dyslexicon townie points. But that doesn't erase my feelings about the way the end of day itself played out.

As a final note: I think the most likely behavior that Creature's partners would have exhibited last night would be total silence. One of their partners just got lynched and only they knew about it. Why say anything? So while I wanted to look at the content that exists in the thread, I also think that silence looks worse than activity in this instance.

Oh, look. Scum hunting!

Sloonei, I have some comments/responses:
- I agree with you that Sig looks likely town from the EoD.
- I don't find Wilgy particularly suspicious, but more null maybe.
- I interpreted the line you're pointing out from Dom differently. But Dom will probably comment on that.
- It's hard to know whether scum knew Creature was the lynch or not until it was pointed out in thread. Depends on who it is and if they were around just at day end. I don't know when the poll disappeared. I also agree that silence or minimal commenting is probably where we will find scum.

What do you think of Tony coming in after the flip and starting to respond to posts and claiming he didn't know what was going on? In short, what do you think about my points against Tony?

All I get from Tony, Dom and Epi after the lynch is just salt or annoyance. Not saying they are all scum, but I'd be highly surprised if none of them where. I'm mostly suspicious of Tony for how he reacted to the lynch. He cleared the four of us begrudgingly, but he did not really change any of his reads otherwise after the flip or did any digging/evaluation for what the flip might mean. He just continues to read Dom and Epi town without question. It doesn't look like town reacting to a lynch and building a world from it. Maybe Dom and Epi are actually town and Tony is trying to win them over. That's just speculation though. The upset/salt towards me also confuses me.

I have not looked super closely at Tony. I will if I make it to Day 2. Got things to do right now.

And I should clarify that I was mostly null on wilgy as well. I was just trying to provide an interpretation for seeing him as bad.

Great last second lynch. 10/10. Would do again.
Dyslexicon

Let’s start with this. First this is the thing I read before finding out who got lynched that I responded to that you have been pointing out. Nothing in this post pertains to the lynch and I don’t think I should have to read the lynch before responding to it.
I’m obviously biased but this isn’t a good faith attack. This statement isn’t in any way changed by the lynch or changed by anything that happened since I left 3 hours before EOD. To me it reads as agenda, scum trying to put up targets and see how it goes.
To your credit, I think the way you’ve continued going about it (asking others what they think) hasn’t seemed like digging and is more townish. But that’s after salty-TSP. The last line of this and some other posts seem like bragging in a way that I don’t necessarily expect from town, stuff that my instinct would tell me is scum getting away with a successful bus.
