The more the game advances, the more information you will have. The more information you have, the better you can leverage the tools in your disposal to your benefit. The more lives you have, the more tools you have.

Although I suppose we're just continuing to play until the roles run out so that doesn't matter yet.

Voting for Rico is a weak cop-out if I ever saw one. Every time he's done a stubborn posting schtick he has been a civ. His "wolf" thing is little more than a joke (though I imagine he'll try to stay consistent in going after the people he's named, but I'm guessing he chose them somewhat randomly at the beginning). Anyway, for anyone who has played with Rico recently, there is no good reason to vote for him. On the other hand, I do understand why you guys are rather flippant about the day 1 vote as long as it's not someone on your team, given the unorthodox structure of this game, so I can't particularly argue against anyone's personal choice to vote Rico other than that I think it's a weak reason. And it's not like I have any particular ideas as to who constitutes a threat at this point either. :shrug:

It feels weak because of the way the idea of voting for him came up in the thread yesterday and the way a few people have so easily latched onto it. Idk, to me it just feels like one of those cases of D1-thoughtless-bandwagoning syndrome. Speedchuck voted for Rico because he hates the gimmick, and then Sloonei just jumped on with that because he didn't have any other ideas. Soon everyone will just be lazily wandering into the thread and going "oh, looks like people are voting rico, cool, I'll do that too, whatever" and boom that's how most lame-ass day 1 lynches that go nowhere get started.

Aside from what other people have said, I'm curious as to what your voting criteria is. Rico is not on my team, and his posting contributions are not as interesting, fun to read, or engage-able as everyone elses. I'm playing this particular game to have fun, and so I'm voting for the person with the least fun in their posts.

Aside from what other people have said, I'm curious as to what your voting criteria is. Rico is not on my team, and his posting contributions are not as interesting, fun to read, or engage-able as everyone elses. I'm playing this particular game to have fun, and so I'm voting for the person with the least fun in their posts.

Fair enough.

My only counterpoint is that there is always a possibility that lynching a particular role poses some threat. Just a quick skim of some of the roles shows that much. But I suppose if you have no particular reason to fear such an effect from Rico over anyone else (and you most likely wouldn't at this stage) your reasoning is fine.

The single biggest thing I'm watching for is a team building it's ranks and not voting for each other. We should all be scared of teams that get to five or six current people.

So far I have not landed on a criteria for voting someone. I will likely wait until much later in the cycle to see if someone jumps out at me as potentially being powerful or one of the bad roles like the SK but honestly I don't expect that to happen. Why would anyone give away that info? If nothing jumps out at me I might consider voting randomly as that doesn't seem to be a bad way to go like it usually is in conventional mafia. I would only do that if I don't suspect anyone of having a bad role or being really powerful.

Voting randomly won't get you anywhere interesting, but voting in an alliance might.

Also not sure why Rico's history of being a civilian doing this shtick (even if it was later proved false) is relevant? No civilians in here. This is the Thunderdome. Or, the children's book version of the Thunderdome.

The fact that I'm in his list is pretty much a non-factor in my vote.

Nacho, thank you for asking and that is something I will think about but I'm not quite sure how it would work. What if I wanted to vote someone on your team or you wanted to vote someone on my team? Or are you saying we would just agree not to vote each other? Is it dangerous to alliance build in public? If people know you are a member of an alliance won't they be more prone to vote for one of the members of the alliance? If I remember correctly in survivor the alliances were all agreed to in private for that reason.

Just an fyi for everyone, I was "selected" to participate in an event that requires me to sing a specific song on vocaroo or youtube. Unfortunately, vocaroo doesn't work on my computer and I have no idea how to do youtube on it either (plus I'm pretty carful about my identity as many of you know) so I cannot participate. I'm a terrible singer but would be happy to vocaroo if it worked (don't know why it doesn't). Sorry to the selector, I don't mean to be a bad sport. I will be punished for not participating, my vote won't count for 2 days and I can't use any power I might have during night 1. I asked if I could reveal this info and was told yes but asked not to reveal the song so I won't. Meanwhile, I don't remember a role that has people sing but its probably something more generic like "can select people to do things". I'm off to search for it so I'll know it's in play.
