Your handedness
It's all in the poll. You may select two options if you feel like one of them doesn't sufficiently describe your handedness.

Re: Your handedness
what kind of tasks would one do with the other hand? I mean, I use my left hand...

Re: Your handedness
I can't write with my left hand, but I can do stuff with it. Ever since I started playing piano, my left hand has become a lot more useful.

Re: Your handedness
I tend to perform feats of dexterity (writing, table tennis, drawing, eating utensils) with my left hand and feats of strength (throwing, regular tennis, punching) with my right hand.

Re: Your handedness
I should have been left-handed. My mother told me that, when I started coloring and writing as a kid, I would default to my left hand. She worked hard to force me to use my right hand. My dad is left-handed and a number of people up through the family tree are as well.
I hold a hockey stick left-handed and I iron left-handed. I can't think of anything else right now though. I am pretty ambidextrous when it comes to eating utensils (though I predominately use my right hand to work the knife).

Re: Your handedness
hmmmm. I don't think I would choose to throw or punch with my left hand because it's weaker imo. but when my right hand gets tired, I can use my left hand (tho less effectively).JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon Mar 26, 2018 12:47 pm I tend to perform feats of dexterity (writing, table tennis, drawing, eating utensils) with my left hand and feats of strength (throwing, regular tennis, punching) with my right hand.

Re: Your handedness
This is quite normal. I'm not sciency, but I think it's muscle density to blame. The arm that requires precision doesn't want a big dense muscle in it, so the other arm tends to be stronger. When people throw with their main hand it's likely to be as a result of co-ordination rather than strength.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon Mar 26, 2018 12:47 pm I tend to perform feats of dexterity (writing, table tennis, drawing, eating utensils) with my left hand and feats of strength (throwing, regular tennis, punching) with my right hand.

Re: Your handedness
Iam naturally right handed, but my Mom was a lefty, and she taught me how to do things, so I write righty but do my daily living stuff lefty.

Re: Your handedness
Technically it begins at the first off-hand activity, so you'd be mixed-handed. In popular terms though, the writing hand is the determinant factor (and by that criteria I'd be left-handed).

Ah, okay. I do a couple of things left-handed. Fighting/punching, for one, back when I took martial arts.

Re: Your handedness
When I was a kid I saw someone get a toe bitten off by a snapping turtle. I am a bit shy of turtles that aren't tiny or photographs.

It's your fault for only giving us two options.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Fri Mar 30, 2018 9:44 am Startlingly few among those of us who have hands seem to like turtles.
