-Days will last 48 hours. Nights will last 24 hours.
-All votes will be changeable and must be cast in the poll to count.

-Refrain from ciphering or concealing posts. This includes writing in the same color as the background.
-JaggedJimmyJay is the mod on duty. If you get upset, message him instead of posting furious rage in the thread.
-Please, this is a game. Take it easy, play to have fun, but play to win! We all want to have fun. Remember that.

Prologue -

Image

A patrol car slowly pulled up on the edge of a normally quiet backroad. On either side of the road was dense bushland with a steep drop off on one side leading into the valley below. Several people were gathered around at the top; police offers and emergency services people chief among them. Down below were more personnel dressed in heavy duty safety equipment, firefighters and more police, hard at work trying to get the dead body out of there. At the top was also a crane.

A young policewoman emerged and approached one of the other officers peering down on the scene. He was a grizzled veteran of a man.

"Who is it?" she asked.

"They said it's a kid. No ID yet."

She let out a deep sigh.

"Girl or boy? How old?"

"Couldn't be older than 10. A boy." the other officer replied.

She turned and looked down on the scene below. Things like this don't happen around here very much. In fact this was the first time she had ever been at a scene like this. In 10 years on the force she'd never seen a murder in her community, and the word was this was a murder.

"So give me everything you've got." she asked.

He nodded towards a woman standing near an ambulance. She looked exhausted.

"That woman over there was driving down this road at around 4am and says she saw a car parked on the side of the road here so she slowed down. Says there was someone near it and when they saw the car coming they jumped into the vehicle and sped off. She thought it was suspicious so she pulled over to where it was parked and found blood on the ground. That's why she called it in."

"Does she seem suspicious?" she asked.

"Yeah she's a bit off. The fact that she was driving past here at 4am is weird enough on it's own."

"What's her name? I'll go and chat to her."

"Sheila Nicholson."

She took a deep breath and started walking towards the suspect. After a couple of steps she stopped.

"Where's homicide?"

"Over there." He gestured towards two cops in suits standing side by side peering into the valley.

"Oh. I know her. Hey! Henry!" She strode off towards the detectives, but she was sidetracked by a booming voice.

"Clear!" A harness carrying the body of the boy was being swung out of the scrub by the crane. Forensics rushed over to release the body from the harness. So did the two homicide detectives and the police officer.

One of the forensics moved the suspended body onto a stretcher and began to remove the harness. He first uncovered the face of the young boy. His dead eyes were wide open, and there was a gunshot wound in the middle of his forehead.

"Jesus Christ. He was fucken' executed. Call it in." shouted one of the detectives.

Chapter 1 - The Fallout

As word spread of the murder throughout the quiet town people started to talk. Who would do such a thing? Arguments broke out in the pub, family and friends were sceptical of one another. The usually tight nit community was fractured, unlike ever before.
It's Day 1. You have two days to find the culprit.

Now that the game has begun in earnest, I have a few questions:

1) Can anyone give me a rundown of what's normal to expect from Lady LambdaDelta, Michelle, sabie12, and TonyStarkPrime? I played one or two games with Sabie, but that was a while ago. I may have played once with Tony, but I will have to go back and check the master spreadsheet. The other two are new to me. Are these usually talkative or quiet? How they cool, calm, and collected, or are they more emotional with their posts? I don't want their newness to me leaving me focused too much on the devils I know. :eye:

2) When do most of you see yourselves as able to vote in the poll? Given that the game is running on some form of Australia time, how can we best structure our discussions? There's an awful lot of overnight for many of us right before the deadline. Let's not fall into the trap of delay and panic. We must also be careful to watch out for late phase manipulation for the same time zone reasons. We cannot just make a hard push in the North American time zones in the evening and just assume things will remain the same the final hours while we sleep. Vigilance, folks. Vigilance. :srsnod:

3) Since both Dom and Quin are both playing another murder mystery game set in Australia, are we going to see an epic sequel to their Mad Max dueling?

No problem there. You're on Australia time, so this game's timing is probably a refreshing change of pace for you.

If the poll ended on a weekday, I'd be eating breakfast during EOD. Since Day 1 ends on a Saturday morning for me, I will probably still be in bed. I've got company coming over for dinner and games tomorrow evening, but I will check in before I go to bed.

Tony's entrance is ehhhh

G's is good if a little heavy-handed but I respect that he wants some meta. G-Man Michelle tends to ask people a lot of questions (kinda like juliets actually now that I think about it). LLD I've only played with once and the game is still going so I probably shouldn't talk about it. Tony and sabie I've played with a handful more times but couldn't really give you much specific description of their styles, I think they both vary a fair amount.

Quin is schooling the rest of us on the aussie slang. Idk if I'll even try. Uh, who's coming to my sausage sizzle?

What do you think of G-man asking about the metas of new people?
Understandable and NAI given his absence.

I’m going to [VOTE: Dom] aubergine and see what happens.

All the players I’m least confident in reading aren’t here yet.

If the poll had been in reverse alphabetical order, that would have been funny.

Jack: I can’t read Tony and Michelle for shit.
Michelle: Jack, why don’t you tell everyone about my meta?
Nutella: Jack, please give us a read on Tony based on two posts.

I mean, they’re fine I guess. I’m not gonna townread him for that but I’m not pinged by it either.

I don't know how to read anyone lol. I feel weirdly confident in my ability to read Michelle despite only having played with her 4 times, while I am so uncertain on the people I've been playing with for years

I honestly don't know it's been so long lol. I think of him as being kind of like LC in personality but idk how much that applies to play style
