Re: Assassin's Creed Mafia (OVER!)

I really liked the game. It brought back some of the mystery of old mafia setups I used to play.

Plus, claiming was allowed, and that was a breath of fresh air (even if I didn't claim myself)

No, he said that he kills the role and he doesn't have to know who they are. If he's not lying about this, it's a very broken role.
I really don't think it's that good
Not if it's town targeting town or mafia targeting mafia.

The role is either a partial win button or unusable. I guess the question is whether it makes sense to change the game from hunting and reading players to wheedling for names to make sure you aren't shooting yourself in the foot.

So no, the role doesn't make sense to me, and the way it was revealed makes less sense.
Maybe the purpose of the role is just the mindgame itself
But that's not really mafia? A reward for guts with no counterplay or chance to it.

Might be getting too far off into game theory here, which is something I love. The question is, is Tony telling the truth, and is he town?

Re: Assassin's Creed Mafia (D3)

Host post:
A character's alignment in the video game(s) is not tied to their alignment in this game (i.e., Ezio can be mafia, Shay can be town, etc.), and alignments are randed after character assignment.
Characters are randomized. Nothing there says anything about roles. So it depends on whether Nanook had different versions of each role available for alignment, as I usually do if I'm theorizing a setup like this.
Given the weirdness of a 'kill desmond' role (assuming you're finally telling the truth, there) I wouldn't count on that.

That should not be a real thought. A vigshot is simply a public cop check. It is always beneficial to use it if one is given to you (and funnygurl is right in her post, that night 1 seems more optimal to use it than night 2, if macdougall was indeed given the option).

As for the roles thing, I have a power that has the ability to essentially act as a cop for any player. It only works on certain roles — I need to find one of those roles to use it. It also only works on odd nights, and since this is the last odd night in the game (most likely) I will have no more opportunities to make use of it. So that’s why I’m asking now. I just need character names.
This might be worth doing, quite frankly. If it's LYLO, I need to be cleared before tomorrow's lynch.

I'm more concerned with his claim. Why fake it? Why even make it in the first place, especially to lie about it and risk it being countered?
lolcatting?

What does that even mean?

No. I'm a civilian who is getting fucked because I got a shitty role that doesn't make any sense and nobody believes it.
Why claim it in the first place? Why is your role towny rather than scummy? Why are your target(s) towny rather than scummy?

Going on a walk.

I'm just going to note that having anyone at 3 votes is dangerous if we wanna make full use of this phase. Especially if Jay/Nut are only here today.
