have a gut reads list (based on not reading anything since yesterday night (approximately 20 pages ago), with minimal iso skimming):

abyssum - remarks their perspective on what's going on, and I found their insights useful to analyzing the thread iirc, (though I can't recall an example of that aff the top of my head.
ColinIsCool - Asks a lot of questions and is involved in conversation. Seems okay to me.
DharmaHelper - So I'm sure this read should change if I had read the last 20 pages, but at that point, DH hadn't done anything particularly useful? He seemed like he was gearing up for a Big Statement though.
Infected_alien8_ - Alien... annoys me tbh. Particularly wrt how he kept putting pressure on me and luna that one time.
JaggedJimmyJay - Helpful, asking questions of people, putting pressure down.
Kylemii - I don't have a solid read on them yet. I only recall them talking about one post that took them 3 hours to make. I don't remember what the post was.
Lunalee - I liked her response to my question about mac vs spirityo, and that's what decided my vote.
MacDougall - my negative read on mac initially came from early day 0 joking, and then asserting that he was never joking and this frustrated me. Afterwards he's been a good townie, contributing to game decently well.
Marmot - I haven't seen any Marmot posts.
M Plus 7 - Talkative as usual. day 0 was really willing to give out townreads. that (thankfully) didn't really keep up once he got the power to vote, putting pressure in places he wanted people to talk from.
Russtifinko - Likes ISOs and walls and I appreciate their analyses.
sprityo - In the spate against mac, spirityo came out looking worse.
Tsaiah - On day 0 she seemed super excitable and pure as fuck.
Turnip Head - Not particularly memorable. I don't see much in the way of serious posts in TH's iso.

I like JaggedJimmyJay's reads (in and around this post) but I personally don't think there's enough in the thread to peg DH as scum. He seems pretty resistant to posting in force until Day 1 properly starts. That's a viewpoint I personally dislike, but I don't think it necessarily reflects on DH's alignment, just his character.

These were your first mentions of me I believe, and I'm not sure what inspired the yellow-highlighted bit there. You reneged on that a bit later, but I am wondering where it came from in the first place? Your handling of me so far has been a bit peculiar, foremost because there isn't much of it (and I have been louder than anyone else short of MP), and because it's difficult to follow your perspective of me.

So the tinfoil is basically "I think it's obvious that you're being a good and helpful townie, but WHAT IF?" I think I have overall discarded the tinfoil and trust you now. At this point my townread on you is one of my strongest reads.

Did you see how I poked Luna like, two pages before this? And it ended up in an honestly kind of stressful conversation wherein I criticized alien for attacking luna's points and my words were unclear and misrepresented? ([mention]Lunalee[/mention], I'm still sorry about that)

and then I did it again because it's important to me that people talk so that there's something to get a read on.

The next few mentions aren't actually directed at me but I started responding to them anyways

This is a very wishy-washy post. Additionally, Robot is focusing a lot of attention on Macdougall, despite admitting here that he agrees with Mac.

See above about treating you the same way as luna but tbh I guess you're right that was an easy post to go for? It wasn't like I was grasping at straws about what to post though. There was plenty to talk about, on the topic of MacDougall alone, let alone the isos of colin, mac, and spirityo, the rainbow reads list (which I guess I just checked off my todolist), and probably a bunch of other things that would appear while in the middle of working on the todolist? I just sorta fell asleep at that point and then had an Unexpectedly Busy Day irl afterwards and I'm still super behind on my todolist which now includes reading the 20 pages I never experienced.

This looks like the post that started it all: A very innocent comment by sprityo about Mac not being actually green on MP's read list.
Here's why MacDougall dislikes sprityo:
Sprityo has avoided heat in ways he probably shouldn't have I want to see examples of this, because I don't see it in sprit's ISO.
sprityo responds to Mac's suspicions by saying "it was a joke" and "I'm bad at mafia"

Then there's Sprit's blow-up post and Mac's reaction to it. At first glance, it honestly looks like two civvs who don't understand each other.

But I can't help but notice how sprityo is reacting to this whole thing. He swings an attack, then immediately backs down, as if hoping to shut it down before Mac can swing back:

Mac's response to this is steady and forceful. He does not back down. This seems like a more common townie trait. If I had to pick a scum between Mac and Sprityo, I would choose Sprityo.

His backdown #2 wasn't him going back on his reads though, it was him wanting to move on from stating his case because it was taxing argueing

This also feels a bit like a forced read to me, it feels like you're struggling for what to say, so you're just trying to find something you could say is suspicious, because I don't think your quotes match into your argument very well so it reads as if you made the case first and then tried to fit things into it as opposed to working bottom-up and seeing it first and then making the case

I felt like back down 2 was Sprityo attempting to shut the door on the whole issue, because he didn't want to continue engaging with Mac.
I did force myself to make a read of Mac and sprit (if that's what you mean), but I didn't have a conclusion going into it. It sort of evolved. Where else do my quotes not make since to you? I may have messed them up, or if not I can try to clarify.

I agree it's sprit trying to move on, I don't agree it was 'backing down' though, he was shutting himself off from argueing anymore about it but maintaining his stance

And no it was just that part, it feels like you were trying to twist what he did into some sort of case where you say he keeps backing down even though I don't think it fits properly

I... am not sure. I liked her entrance and her attempts to seem grounded in the game struck me as sincere initially, but now I'm just like... I don't know. I'm not sure I like her treatment of Luna. What do you think of her?

She seems different to what I remember of her last game. Last game she listened to people's arguments, agreed, voted accordingly, then listened to counter-arguments, agreed, unvoted. It was like that all game with her. This game she's very much on her own, sort of in isolation from others' opinions. I'm not sure what to make of it though.

Yeah, I'm getting this impression too. But to be fair too she did against the grain things in Game 9 like vote for me on Day 1 and stuff like that.

She did seem more... turbulent that game maybe? I think that's what I'm picking up on. She seems more confident here.

Honestly, I feel a lot more confident here. Last time beru was the only person I knew and I hadn't played a game with her in like 5 years, and this time I've got you, alien, and tsaiah, and I've also been hanging out/lurking on various relevant discord servers. I don't feel thrown off the deep end so much. I feel like I have friends.

The reason I was trying to get Luna is because she appeared to be online right then and also I had no read on her whatsoever. I want to do the same thing to Marmot but they also never appear to be online.

Anyways, yeah, doing okay. Feeling a bit sick after donating blood yesterday so I might ask them to discard my blood which is a shame. It's mostly just dizziness, which is typical, but it doesn't typically last in me personally that long, so I'm a bit worried. Also a bit of a fever which I had before they took my blood, which is probably contributing to the dizziness.

maintaining as neutral a stance as possible is pretty scummy. only disliking one person is just barely a step above that. I consider townreads not super relevant to that because it's much easier to say you like someone than you dislike them, you know?

that being said, spirityo hasn't like, demonstrated serious tunnel vision. just not-evaluated-the-rest-of-game vision, which is a pretty reasonable state of being. If they don't start reevaluating townreads, then we'll talk more.

@kylemii but actually, my history is that I've been playing mafia across many different sites since 2012, most recently of which was mafiauniverse, but like, I was one of the founding members of flightrising's mafia community, and I play a bunch at my school. Forgot to answer this. there's a thing that scum sometimes do of making themselves integral to town, integral to its gameplay, so that if they're lynched, then the game kind of grinds to a halt. Something like withholding meta reads to be queried at any time could seem "good and helpful" but that implies that he needs to continue to be alive. Which means "don't lynch me"

So when he just, gave all the meta reads he could, without needing a sort of query-and-response at all, that came across as a major subversion of the trope, which looks pretty good for MP7.

I think it's definitely on the townier end, but not too far from null. However, combined with like, tone and reads and other factors, the little epsilons add up to a probable townie. But like, it's day 0 and I'm gonna hedge a little because I trust you'd be as good a mafioso as a townie.

I think I pointed more of a finger at MacDougall than I did at most people, and the resolution to our interaction was "robot probably is just straight-up wrong and should read the whole gotdamn thread before posting"

ISOing MacDougall is definitely something I plan on doing in the night though.

I like JaggedJimmyJay's reads (in and around this post) but I personally don't think there's enough in the thread to peg DH as scum. He seems pretty resistant to posting in force until Day 1 properly starts. That's a viewpoint I personally dislike, but I don't think it necessarily reflects on DH's alignment, just his character.

Alien's doing the same kinda catch-up postwall as I am. Here's the link. It's the first longpost I've seen in this game, so let's break it down.

I disagree with Alien about how MP feels about Tsaiah (in particular, a lock-town read is a Really Good thing to get early on so long as you do allow yourself to reassess and distrust that person later on, and also Tsaiah's ISO screams Good Bean to me). I do agree about Mac though. I am confused as hell about Mac.

Actually, you know what, MP7's eagerness to townread so many people is making me feel not great. Like he said he wants a solid town circle and then a POE, but I agree with Alien that he's just handing out townreads like, everywhere.

Okay, my eyes are glazing over post #369 and I think I'm going to stop there for now. There's a lot of content, but this game isn't moving so fast that I can't catch up being a day behind, just I'm being a bit slow. Walls of text make me disengage, both when writing and reading them. But I evidently just straight up said something false about MacDougall because I didn't thoroughly pore over the thread and I don't really want to do that, so here I am. fwiw, I haven't seen anything to really change my opinion on MacDougall before like, my own interaction with him (which did change my opinion).

Forgot to answer this. there's a thing that scum sometimes do of making themselves integral to town, integral to its gameplay, so that if they're lynched, then the game kind of grinds to a halt. Something like withholding meta reads to be queried at any time could seem "good and helpful" but that implies that he needs to continue to be alive. Which means "don't lynch me"

So when he just, gave all the meta reads he could, without needing a sort of query-and-response at all, that came across as a major subversion of the trope, which looks pretty good for MP7.
