There Goes the Neighborhood

The Piano Estates HOA board had finally backed themselves into a corner. They filed yet another lawsuit against a homeowner for ignoring the mandate to put their house for sale. Nobody thought the eviction clause had any real teeth. Suing was the only way to prove that it did.

Everyone currently engaged in legal action with the HOA had waited to be sued. This fact was not lost on the HOA's attorney on retainer. He was sweating bullets after reviewing any and all possible related cases. The outlook was grim, yet the HOA board persisted. They felt bound to uphold what they believed to be the only course of action available to them. Inaction was invalid in their minds.

At the beckoning of Flamini, there was yet again an eviction vote. With so few homeowners remaining with voting rights, the votes were getting narrower and narrower. Robert Vitale was the latest victim to the Lenker brothers' cockamamie eviction clause.

A few days later, each of the board members were surprised to be served on their front porches with papers. At long last, they were the ones being sued.

Each of them read the documents in bewilderment. With the latest eviction vote, Piano Estates officially had more homeowners under mandatory eviction status than there were members in good standing. The board had essentially rendered themselves invalid, as quorum could no longer be reached per the covenants.

Not only that, but each homeowner under mandatory eviction orders had banded together to form a class action lawsuit against the HOA as an entity engaging in illegal practices and erroneous lawsuits against members, as well as against the board members as individuals for failing to perform their duty to look out for and act in the best interest of the HOA and its members by ignoring a legally dubious clause in the covenants that likely held no legal standing whatsoever.

The circular firing squad of lawsuits ruined a few people financially, but it also ruined the spirit of Piano Estates. The Lenker brothers really had believed that their fellow developer was telling the truth when he told them about the rumors of organized crime members moving into their neighborhood. Too bad the Lenkers, as developers themselves, were blind to the fact that developers are almost universally full of shit and not to be trusted.

The HOA board and members lost sight of this simple truth as well, and it cost many of them dearly. Property values declined, relationships soured, and Piano Estates earned a reputation for being a difficult place to live.

When the bad guys exist only in your head, everybody loses.

Grogu said Day 2 he forgot to submit a Night action.

Forgetting implies an intention to use said Night action. If Grogu didn't plan on using his Night action in the first place (as he indicated three separate times!), then he didn't forget it Night 1.

Grogu had a total of ten posts between Day 0 and Night 2. Ten. And most of them did nothing to move things along.

In recent posts, Grogu is giving the impression that he never intended to use the bodyguarding role, that no one was worth sacrificing himself for, and that he wasn't required to use the role (as JJJ claims).

I am most inclined to believe that Grogu did in fact forget to submit a Night action- a kill- but also forgot that he said he forgot when he became more emboldened recently.

Whether you trust people should be irrelevant. You can protect fingersplints, die in her place, and then know in the graveyard that you probably saved an important town role from dying -- exactly what your role is designed for. Not using your ability at all makes no sense at all to me.

I don't care much about the "would I carry the kill" wine. When I am a mafioso I tend to prefer teammates in dangerous positions carry them out to prevent losing someone deeper.

You've accused everyone that has posted so far today. That's fine. Is anyone a civilian read? Is anyone less suspicious?

Is is not about that. If he really thought he’s been blocking scum kills then he needs to think scirrrus was scum and then scirrus is free to carry kill last night that’s all.

We were told enrique was n1 and scirrus next night. We also know there hasn’t been a kill so I just assuming.
I do know for 100% sure that blocking me did not block the kill unless epi is a Jail keeper and he actually protected me.
Then again I doubt scum will ever target me so I find that unlikely.

To summarise my thoughts:
scirrus, I am less trusting of the vole claim. I don’t know if I necessarily by the mafia had a vig kill as well, although it’s been pointed out there are a lot of roles claimed so it could be explained by balance. I still think it’s possible that was just the mafia kill with a false claim out there in hopes we would lynch someone on the basis of block, which we did. A risky move but not unheard of for mafia, especially at that point IF the mafia has three members that would have meant only 7 civvies left in the game at that point. Some smart moves would certainly win the game.
Grogu: I still think some of the mafia is inactive players based on process of elimination even if we take out the talk of if the kills were missed. I find it really suspicious how they were in the thread the moment votes were cast against them. It all just reads entirely too convenient to me.
reywas/KZA: welcome to the game and sorry, but again process of elimination makes me suspicious of you. I don’t plan on voting for you today though, because there are stronger suspects and well I just think that’s generally bad form.
I’m really torn on Enrique. I see the points on him but I really want to trust him. Maybe he just has me fooled.

I chalk that to coincidence. I came in when I woke up and it just so happen that is the time I could post. It is not scummy just what it is.

When you don’t make many posts it is nearly impossible to clear you. That’s just how it is. If you don’t want to be in a process of elimination pool, folks need material to work with.

Okay, but it’s not me. And if it’s Scirrus then I still don’t believe there was a vig kill of Marmot, IMO that would’ve just been a straight mafia kill, and Scirrus takes a big gamble claiming vig without being able to know for certain that there’s another. And IYO, does the existence of a mafia vig imply that there can’t be a town one?

Grogu just accused me of hoping he flips scum. Yes, I hope exactly that, but I wouldn’t be able to if I was scum! He missed a night action and is exactly as disconnected as I expect the mafia to be at this point.

I decided on my own not to use my action since I thought it was beneficial to save until I needed to save a cop or something. Then Alison claimed some insane thing. Seems pointless
