Ash Lael] aubergine
Feels like scum trying to settle into a reasonable-looking tunnel on Nanook. I actually activated Enhanced Gut Protocols in this game, so my gut reads can be trusted up to 68-83% correct.

The most explanation you’re getting is that their entrance felt townie
I could probably bullshit some more reasonining to but I don’t feel like it so what you’re getting is the actual reason for it, take it or leave it
Why did it feel townie?
Cause I’m incredible at reading openings
Cause it hit what I associate as townie notes in an opening
Cause I flip a coin for my reads
Pick one idc
Okay, Nanook is clearly not feeling any real pressure just from my vote. Can I please get another one or two people on him to make him stop being a smartarse and answer the damn question?

After 69 town games in a row i finally got my scum rand ...
Wish me luck guys. I hope i can perform well
My first thought is that it actually feels stressful to claim wolf when im ACTUALLY a wolf, it would have been funny to do as town, but as an actual mafia now ... I dont rly like it, so i probably wont be doing it after this post

Also you’re British yeah? Or do I just have that in my head cause of your avatar
I'm Australian.
I probably won't do any meta-diving.
In terms of confidence level, there's the inside view and the outside view, right? From the outside view I understand I often have bad, overconfident reads. But from the inside, when I really lock onto a read I can get ultra convinced of it to the point I can't really comprehend being wrong. As my presence in this game attests (I was so sure Dya was scum...)
So yeah. Expect me to be slightly above rand in accuracy but to talk like I've seen everyone's role cards.

Vulgard stop memeing in scum chat and meme here instead
I'm honestly glad I randed town during my first game here. It would be rather stressful to rand mafia during my first game on a new site, even if I prefer to be mafia.

In fact, Arete's few posts are EXTREMELY underwhelming. My read there is still pending, but I'd like to point this out nonetheless. Me and Arete have a thing similar to your JJJ/Sloonei, where we have plenty of experience with one another and can typically read one another perfectly by EoD1 / EoD2 at the latest. At this point, I already expect Arete to read me town regardless of their alignment, because my opening post is something they would 100% call towny.

I don't really understand the ted townreads. His posts have not pinged me as town whatsoever.
In general, I don't really understand how tutuu gets any of her reads, and the way she reacts to pressure has been less than stellar. The only thing that is towny about her from my perspective is how much she insists upon keeping up this bizarre play pattern.
I don't know 112's pronouns, so feel free to correct me. I know Hally's a they, though.
ngl, the ted read is so pure!
Vulgard what do you think of ted atm?
Vulgard wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 9:50 am
I just don't get it, tutuu. You have five (?) town and the majority of that list has just been people who agreed with you and/or called you town. The only people you have shown hostility toward have been the people who pushed on you and/or called you mafia, and yet you don't even have a mafia list despite the kneejerk OMGUS you've been displaying. Do you really think that everyone who's friendly with you has to be town? Because that's the impression I get from your read progression and your list of townreads in general.
none of this is true lol
i am not only townreading ppl who r my friends and townread me
i have multiple times put u as my top townread
i also though ash was town despite him scumreading me
i also have ted as own despite him scumreading me
i dont have a kneeerk OMGUS in the sense of "if u scumread me ur mafia"
i have a knee jerk reaction to poke fun at ppl scumreading me for what i perceive to be silly reasons (since i already knwo the asnwer to my alignment)
if it helps i dont do it only for me, i do this to ppl who suspect my strongest townreads too. i poked a little fun at ash for scumreading nanook, and often times in past games id say stuff like that to ppl who scumread my townreads
me having a playstyle that ends up with a ton of townread and no scumreads is a separate thing, it isnt rly connecetd to how im reactional. if u skim my past games u will see i always end up with only townreads and no scumreads, despite nobody pushing me

There are three main things that give me pause about tutuu being mafia.
+ Consistently playing the way she does despite all the pressure and scumreads she has been receiving.
+ The existence of some unique thoughts which looked complex and miscellaneous, and thus more likely to come from town rather than mafia.
+ The fact NANOOK claimed that "tutuu was either town or perfectly replicating her town game." Considering tutuu has allegedly not randed mafia for so long that she cannot remember her last mafia rand, this just might be the most important reason tutuu's town. It would be difficult to replicate your town game near-perfectly after such a long time of not randing scum.
okay mindmeld with first point. nods along the second.

i think 112 went with she/her pronouns but dunno, no idea
I am gonna sheep hally cuz (no offense to the others!) i think shes the best player on this table from my own personal experience (idc about MU) and im in a subservient mood

on page 8, going to take a break and catch up later
could vulgard be any more obviously scum?
tell me more
His tone is incredibly forced/stilted and he keeps repeating his cases in a way that makes me think he's trying to mimic a proper progression on people.
re: tone i think he just writes like that
i don’t understand what you mean by the bolded
By the bolded I mean that he keeps bringing things up that he's already said before, such as that he doesn't like the posters who claimed maf. It seems like he's trying to write every read he has out to such a detailed extent that nobody can question the work he's put in/the quality of his thoughts, but it just comes out looking like he's trying very hard to remember the reasons he's scumread peope--something that town don't have to do because they've already internalized their opinions.
Vulgard wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 9:44 am
112 and Michelle have not done enough for me to have a read on them.
I have a theory that Ash could be mafia. There's something about his play I just don't like, and it keeps on nagging at me. He seems a little too... agreeable, if that makes sense. His NANOOK scumread surprised me, because Ash had never pushed NANOOK prior to making that read, and he has not pushed NANOOK since then, as far as I can tell. It is not mafia indicative, but it is something I am keeping in mind.
I'm currently conflicted on tutuu. On the one hand, I think my reasons for suspecting her are solid. On the other hand, she is still continuing a very bizarre play pattern I scumread her for (and I was not the only one!), she has not changed her play whatsoever to appeal to me, nor has she done anything beyond what I've already said that came across as scummy to me. I'm starting to wonder if I'm scumreading her personality instead of her actual play.
Hally's re-entrance into the thread did not ping me either way. The fact I'm called obvious town by Hally seems... weirdly dismissive, just like the way I felt when tutuu responded to me in that one post.
i wouldn’t say i was being dismissive. idk you just seem like such an obvious villager to me that i see no reason to give any more thought to it at this point in time
The way I interpreted your post was "alright, I accept you as town, I am not going to bother solving you for the rest of the game." And it felt... cheap.
not for the rest of the game. just until the point where either 1) the gamestate becomes such that i have to re-evaluate my tr’s or 2) you do something in the future that causes me to have concerns about you
if that doesnt happen or i die before it does, then ig yea i won’t really give further thought to your alignment. but i see no reason to spin my wheels about you now when you’ve given me no reason to do that and look like an extremely obvious villager to me
okay I think this point is fair and hally actually said it pretty transparently. good vibes.
