Re: Bluey: The Werewolf Game - Game Thread (Day 2)
Hey gang. I've followed loosely and have at least a vague understanding of present game matters. I appreciate y'all giving me an outed mafia to start with; I will be digging into the interactions straightaway. I don't believe in ketchup, and that will probably be the best way for me to get acclimated. In the mean time folks should tell me exactly what I should care about the most in this game, more than anything else in the world. What's most important?

I haven't the faintest clue. Were it only that I possessed such power!
I'll see how Alison felt about things as I acclimate myself. I have no idea whether I will agree with her, but either way I respect her capabilities and will allow that to influence me to whatever degree feels pertinent.

There's not much of anything I can say about my "scum equity" right now, and I really don't care to. If there is some urgent matter that Alison did not address, anyone is welcome to spam me with that material. I may not be able to say anything about it, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Re: Bluey: The Werewolf Game - Game Thread (Day 2)
i have not gotten the opportunity to delve into invictus's interactions beyond a cursory look, but these are the observations that have been rattling in my brain:JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 8:59 pmHi SPF! What's your absolute favorite/most telling interactions nugget in the thread with respect to Invictus?staypositivefriend wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 8:57 pm welcome, jagged! looking forward to seeing your thoughts on the spew
1. hollowkatt pushed on inivictius fairly aggressively and fairly consistently throughout the entirety of d1, going so far as to write a large wallcase against him. although i have struggled to find hollowkatt villagery on a tonal level, i don't feel that the gamestate necessitated that type of bussing or distancing, given that it looks exceedingly likely that the village was split between two town wagons on d1. furthermore, invict's reaction to HK's push was fairly deflective, and he did not 'play it up' in the way that i imagine he might if he and HK were going for an elaborate distance tactic
2. invictus rallied for long con to be the chop fairly aggressively, and once again, i dont feel that the gamestate at the end of d1 was in a place where hardbussing and hardistancing was necessary or likely. i consider long con partially spewed town by invictus's push on him until i am given a reason to believe otherwise
3. the way that tsp and invict talk to each other is awkward (like in https://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewt ... 17#p785417)
4. https://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewt ... 01#p785401 and https://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewt ... 03#p785403 are two posts from invict that are fairly telling for his intent. i believe that invict's plan was to force his presence in the game to the extent that he would become a universal townread, and then use that to position himself in the ~towncore~ and stay protected throughout the game. i believe the early reads that he puts in these posts are his attempts to build a towncore, and i'm leaning on there being one wolf maximum in his list of early townleans - i am doubtful that invict would towncore both of his partners in that position
5. i feel somewhat good about nanook being a villager even without taking spew into consideration

Re: Bluey: The Werewolf Game - Game Thread (Day 2)
Interactions of Invictus and DkKoba / Syn
From Invictus
I forgot to start from the opposite end with the backwards ISOs, so read the posts in this quote from the bottom to the top for the correct sequence. I'll fix that in future spoilers.
Orange: Invictus started with some rather specific shade of DK in that bottommost post - it was no longer RVS, random vote bad - easy accusation to hurl and given my interpretation of DK's posts at face value inaccurate (doesn't look like an RVS-styled vote to me). I think that's a nice start for DK.
Yellow: Invictus gave DK town points for their frustration with Nanook. To better interpret that, I went back and looked at DK's spat(s) with Nanook. DK's frustration does seem significant, so I don't get the impression Invictus stretched reality to make this read happen. In that way it would reflect a more literal recounting of game events -- Invictus may have felt he couldn't sustain that initial shade with the toxicity forming (where town reads often abound) and just conceded the read. That'd be another point for DK, though I acknowledge this is a complex notion with numerous moving parts and presumptions.
Purple: I'm using this moment to represent the broader exchange between DK and Invictus about their Long Con reads. This may say more about LC than about DK, but I'll log it anyway as a moment of some kind of relative "conflict". If they're both mafia, one guy giving soft credit to [town] LC while the other says hell naw reflects indirect distance where the louder voice prevails (the one that is anti-LC). That's at least plausible, though I wouldn't say this is indicative of a team relationship.
Cyan: I'm interpreting this post to imply that DK and falcon were both viable wagons at this point? Someone please tell me if not. I see DK finished Day 1 with only one vote on them. Anyway, log this as a standard issue I'll chop that person instead of this person dichotomy. Whatever the wifom, it's compatible for teammates.
~~~
From DkKoba and Syn
There's some bravado in that first taunt. I'll be conservative and say it could be teammate stuff even if there's no reason it must be. The rest of this is pretty soft dialogue wherein the two kind of play off of one another developing reads on various players, until DK drops Invictus into their POE pool. Within DK's posts alone, there's not much of any progression or read given on Invictus. At face value that's not ideal.
I looks like Syn joined the game after Invictus was outed, so I will move on from his posts for this purpose.
~~~
Conclusion
I had a good amount to say about this interaction from Invictus's side and very little to say about it from DK's side. The material that most speaks to me comes in the former half of the analysis, and it's generally to DK's credit. I'd be more comfortable if DK themself had done something with Invictus in this game. In that way it's a mixed bag, but gun to my head they're not teammates.

I looks like Syn joined the game after Invictus was outed, so I will move on from his posts for this purpose.

Conclusion
I had a good amount to say about this interaction from Invictus's side and very little to say about it from DK's side. The material that most speaks to me comes in the former half of the analysis, and it's generally to DK's credit. I'd be more comfortable if DK themself had done something with Invictus in this game. In that way it's a mixed bag, but gun to my head they're not teammates.

i've been weighing the theory that this specific exchange between invicitus and myself spews both nanook and koba as townstaypositivefriend wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 1:52 amwell, nanook playing a coasty game doesnt mean that he doesn't have specific alignment tells - i pegged him as maf in a recent mash game even though he was one of the lowest posters in the thread. i am neutral about his alignment so far but i don't think he's an impossible readInvictius wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 1:42 amthe issue is when he's scum he literally has to do very little to get near end game. And every phase counts otherwise why do any of us bother at all unless it's end gamestaypositivefriend wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 1:28 amyeah he has a pretty chill playstyle but he tryhards when it counts in my experienceDkKoba wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 1:26 amis this how they normally play?staypositivefriend wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 1:25 amnanook is? i dont really get that impression at all, he seems fine
i barely paid attention to them in bread mafia bc they kept voting town lol
i dont mind him coasting as long as he picks it up when it's necessary, and i trust that he will
it might be easier to read him accurately if his activity was higher, but that's true for a lot of people
it feels like invicitus is trying to subtly "egg on" koba to continue pushing on nanook - koba had launched some aggressive attacks on nanook and when i tried to shut the conversation down, invict lit things on fire again by broadly complaining about nanook's playstyle and echoing koba's opinion

It went ka-bluey.
It was admittedly a shallow reason to townread someone. At the time it felt good, but nothing since then had changed my mind (which yes I know it's because she's been absent for health reasons). But Jay's here if he wants to change my mind.

i feel that marmot's posts in this game have been fairly wolfy so far - his reads feel very cut and paste and i have not observed much depth of thought in his solving nor interest in putting the pieces of the game together
not married to that read, but that's how i currently feel

I think you mean copy-paste spf, unless you think I'm also deleting other people's reads in the process.
