Does the Universal Backup choose during the day or during the night?
If they choose during the night, can the Universal Backup use the role actions of their chosen role the same night they choose it or do they have to wait a cycle?

These questions are important because they determine whether Rask could've backed up pyxxy's role or if they both had it from game start. If the latter, then do we really have two separate town proxy cops in the same game? Role Madness aside, that sounds extremely whack, which is why I want to discount that possibility ASAP if possible

yeah, I want to point that out because that could potentially be a knock against Petit given I don't see how we have two town proxy cops. Pyxxy's is not an odd/even thing either, it's every night, so it can't be "pyxxy is odd proxy cop, Petit is even proxy cop"

I think the holes in Colin's story are:
- If Colin is telling truth, Nutella targetted Chelsea n1, meaning she chose to target a player who she lightly scum read for what I assume are town friendly actions; e.g. the heal we anticipate went on Nutella, any watchers who might watch Nutella etc. I can't see why Nut would do this. seems stupid for many reasons and creates confusion

Last night, I saw a watcher (you), a neighborizer (probably Colin which is why I believe him), a vote-silencer (so I think Chelsea? cannot vote today), a nexus (this was nutella), a voyeur (myself), and a role I will not name because it is 100% town.

I saw NO KILL. I saw a kill action on N1 but none on N2 so I know I would've seen the kill if I had targeted nutella as planned. So I think she redirected all of us off herself and onto Chelsea, and the mafia kill went through on her.

so the Chelsea show was on N1, meaning the 4 KP theory holds

If a mafia JOAT, then it looks like:

N1 = Vig shot, used on one of Falcon/Manny/Chelsea
N2 = Silencer, used on Petit
N3 = ???, used on ???

I have thoughts on N3 but other people really need to speak up so I'm not just talking to myself with occasional pop-ins by DoOm

@LordQuas pyxxy died N1 and flipped as a Proxy Cop based on their role's description (see flip quoted above). On N2, Zeus targeted Nutella, got nexus'ed to Chelsea, and saw 6 players target Chelsea including himself. Wind also got nexus'ed to Chelsea and saw 6 roles including herself. Of those 6, 5 are accounted for:

Zeus-Watcher
Wind-Voyeur
Nutella-Nexus
Colin-Neighborizer
Mung-Vote Silencer

The 6th player and role are, respectively, Petit and a Proxy Cop. Which means that, quite obviously, Petit is the proxy cop, and Chelsea got the green peek results on Sabi which confirms that a proxy cop did exist on N2

However, given that pyxxy also directly flipped as a proxy cop, this poses a bit of a problem because now we have two proxy cops in the game, one confirmed via flip and one confirmed mechanically as existing following the first player's death. And accordingly to pyxxy's flip, they didn't have an odd/even restriction, so it isn't a case of splitting up the power. So where does that leave Petit as far as his alignment goes?

Probably still town, and DoOm brought up a good point of Petit potentially being universal backup who chose to inherit pyxxy's role, but it's still tricky and Petit needs to speak and clarify a few things

oh i remember that i vaguely assumed the proxy cop was the result of the pyxxy thing at the time but that doesnt line up

tbh I'm not sold on the idea that Sabi wasn't the one who got hit last night. There's a very real possibility that if we have a Mafia NK and a SK kill, they could've doubled up on Zeus or Wind. But Sabi was a mech-cleared green peek, which means that she had higher status as a locktown vs Zeus and Wind who were also obvious mech cleared but only rolewise, not necessarily alignment-wise

Otherwise, Manny/Falcon, Nutella/Chelsea/Cape and Wind/Zeus all make perfect sense as a mafia NK between them given their thread status as top townies, and Quas was attracting heat up on top of having a lower thread presence, so Quas not dying doesn't really phase me personally, though I also understand your concern there

I didn't use it N1. I wanted to use it on Creature but they died. N2 I decided to use it to test Colin's claim about his wincon and it came back true. That's why I've been quite defensive of Colin. I have no idea how I can have been viewed visiting Chelsea when I visited Colin though.

The interesting thing about the Chelsea shot is that we still have 3 flips that night, which means there's a third KP that's unaccounted for that appears to only have been able to shoot once (and either missed, if targeting Chelsea, or shot one of the other players who did die)

Chelsea is basically conf town from that alone, which means it likely a Mafia or 3P KP as well unless someone wants to fess up and take responsibility for the Chelsea shot or one of the other 3 who did flip

Rereading Creature's flip, the 3P who killed him takes his role and alignment, so I'm going to go ahead and assume that you're now basically functionally town or mafia and there's no extra wincon of surviving to the end and winning separately from your chosen faction

Which is to say, if you're still alive and Creature was town, it would be nice if you'd out so that we can confirm we have a townie rather than a surrogate mafia. Not gonna advocate for that though, you do your own thing. Just kinda throwing all my thoughts out there
