Re: Frisky Dingo [DAY 1]
Theoretically, Xander could say "Cliff and Clint, target this player tonight".
But if Cliff is nightkilled, nobody would know he was dead, so this strategy might not be ideal. Imo, Xander would be better off choosing players he thinks should be nightkilled.

I'm not sure why you felt the need to let us all know how honest you are being when you said that. Maybe you thought that if you had said "I don't think you're on Xander's team", we might not think you were being honest about it. So, good thing you clarified that with a totally necessary adverb.Scotty wrote:LC, I don't think you're thinking through these strategies, and honestly I don't think you are on Xander's team.

As for thinking through these strategies, the problem you are having is a lack of vision. This can be done, and it can be well-coordinated and executed by Xander. We can make him invincible. Unlynchable, unkillable.
I took Llama's rule to mean in-thread stuff. If he wants to limit what Xander can say in the secret message, so be it. The Xtacles will know soon enough.

So yes, hmm, this strategy could work for at least the first few days, until too many people are NK'd, then it would be dicey.

Re: Frisky Dingo [DAY 1]
No, I wasn't claiming Xtacle with that "we". That "we" was in reference to "we as a group of players".
If my plan goes through, then each Xtacle and Xander will know the identity of each other one, and will know if an Xtacle dies. The Xtacle strategy would then be adjusted for that new circumstance.

I will be voting for anyone that votes a new player to me.
*eyes Epi and MP*
Don't understand what LC is on about with the xtancle thing but that does not make him suspicious in my mafia playbook what does read suspiciously is Scotty's take on LC's post about it but I won't be voting Scotty Day 1 but may consider it for Day 2.
I also won't be voting Hambuger Boy, Ika, Sig, Mac's Mom or Saberfish.
I likely will not be voting Das Porcu or Made either.
Everyone else is fair game for me
I am not liking Gmans style this game the Magic 8 balls have always given me the creeps. It, however, is nothing to vote over.
I totes believe SVS when she said she had misread the roles. I read them and still do not understand them all.
Wish I was apje and could ask a ton a poignant questions about them.
I will catch back up after work and see if I feel anything else.

Re: Frisky Dingo [DAY 1]
This game has been so fun to read so far. Sorry it took me so long to get into Day 1. Four and a half hours left and I have no clue who I want to vote for. I don't see anyone standing out with mafia behavior but with so many new (to the syndicate) players, it will be hard to tell. Plus several players have yet to say anything or much.
@ G-Man - do you plan on keeping this gimmick up all game? How will be know your suspects or how will you make a case for anyone. I do think your gimmick is pretty awesome this game. It would be really cool as an insanifier. However, I am not sure you can actually play the game this way. Am I underestimating the G-Man?

Thats a good thing, you're right. I just get really paranoid about important roles taking risks. But the rish to reard ratio would be low, so I will stop worrying about it. Plus didn't Llama cut a few Xtacles?Long Con wrote:Ok, no more colour tags.S~V~S wrote:I misunderstood Xanders messages, I was thinking any civs could get that info. Are you thinking from an angle like baddies don't have to care as much as Civvies about understanding all the roles maybe?timmer wrote:Sorry guys, I didn't realize that we had started!
I'm a little pinged by the fact that SVS apparently misread the roles, since her reply to Long Con about the Xtacles isn't accurate. But I suppose that's a ping that doesn't really indicate an alignment so I'm not sure where to go with it. I'll tune in more tomorrow night. Game on!Timmer. The last game we played together I went the whole game having misread my own role Lol.
I have read the Epi MP convo a few times. If I have learned anything it is that blurting out my opinion on either can be a mistake for me so I want to reserve judgment at this time.
My phone corrected Xander to Cancer yikes. And the color tags are really hard to read on the light theme, so I may have to switch to dark for this game.
And you're wrong, Xander should absolutely let the Xtacles know who he is. For starters, we won't be mislynching him then. And if he can get the Xtacles coordinated, they could actually protect him at night, every night! In addition to that, so long as enough live, they could coordinate a roleblock every night as well, which could end up finding baddies when kills fail.
And you did not have to change the colors, it was fun. But old eyes, tiny phone screen. I was bemoaning that rather than the colors themselves.

Scotty, Mac's Mom, Sig, Ika, Saberfish and Hamburger Boy are new players to me since I do not remember playing with them before (I may have played with Ika but I do not remember) so since I do not like to vote for new players I won't vote them on Day 1.
As for that prickly Porcupine and Made - well it has been sometime since I have played with either so I would like to enjoy more than one day of playing with them before I layeth the smackdown of my vote onto them.
Its been awhile since we have played DH so I prob will not vote for you either tbh.

Re: Frisky Dingo [DAY 1]
So, seriously, who hasn't posted yet (still)?
Sig, Mac's Mom, and Saberfish?
Is that right?
I'm glad, on the one hand, that there haven't been many posts, because my life is super busy right now, but man this is a boring Day 1 so far.
Maybe I'll cast my vote soon.

And Rox, I want the new folks to stick around, so I understand your hesitation to vote for them, but I really wish they'd come in and at least say something, even if it's "I don't know what to post".
I don't want Llama's game to be disrespected, and I don't want to have a situation where we have 3+ complete nonparticipants a few cycles from now, and then we have a giant debate as to what to do with them. That's just annoying, IMO.

Well, I'm trying, but I'm playing a game on RYM and barely participating enough there (but I'll be lynched shortly here, I'm sure of it), and I have ten million things to do before I leave for Ohio next Wednesday.

Anyone want to donate to the "MP post more" fund by paying me some money? I can be a professional mafia player.

Good point.

Thats what MdKills are for and Hosts need to learn to do it.
The last game I hosted (it was not here but on AW) I ModKilled a record 5 people for non participation. I find ModKilling to be quite liberating

I already have one replacement lined up which I am not afraid to use. I am good friends with Mac's Mom and have ben bugging him to post. He seems very cofused by the whole thing. If it comes to modkilling, I am not above that.Roxy wrote:MovingPictures07 wrote:And Rox, I want the new folks to stick around, so I understand your hesitation to vote for them, but I really wish they'd come in and at least say something, even if it's "I don't know what to post".

I'll give them a few days though.

I shouldn't say EVERYONE is boring. G-Man's 8-ball shtick is pretty funny too. I don't know how frisky it is though.
I just hate Day 1's where everyone is twiddling their thumbs, only for a bunch of random or weird-ass votes to come in, but I don't frankly feel comfortable throwing my vote out there just yet, even in the name of zaniness, so I suppose I can understand why it's happening.
That said, part of me is definitely glad this thread isn't another Economics or Watchmen or Death Note. I just can't handle a game like that right now.
