Dearest Maria,

I breathe the most exasperated sigh of relief to be here, finally, with pen and paper to write to you. As we always knew it would be, training and travel were an arduous hell, and communications were strictly controlled. There is little to share with you immediately, as we have only just established our forward base of operations and we’re all waiting to see what happens next.

I was saddled with an interesting responsibility though, as were my compatriots in the company. We were tasked with distributing key resources to each other, limited such that only five may have the added duty of their oversight and maintenance. The choice of resources was rather bizarre, and I admit that I did not carefully consider my selections. It was only the ring that I chose with deliberateness, because it makes me think of you.

I don’t know my company well enough yet to truly have an understanding of their character, but I have learned something about their work ethic. This looks like a dedicated group that will make our countrymen proud. I promoted those who I expected would not only be willing to give a proper effort, but also take care and be fastidious and thorough with their extra responsibilities. Naturally that includes me. You always said I was a ham, sweetheart.

I look forward to your next letter to a degree I cannot express in words. You and our precious little Johnathan give me the spark to carry on in this challenging environment. How is my son??? Has he taken his first steps yet? Oh how it aches to know I am not to see it myself. Tell me everything, love. Don’t spare a single mundane detail.

Ha ha very clever Jay, you've earned one of my votes though mostly because I agree you would "give proper effort, take care and be fastidious and thorough with [your] extra responsibilities". I have others in mind who I also think would live up to those expectations, I just need to narrow them down which is hard. I'm going to go ahead and vote since I don't know how much I'll be here tomorrow before and after the drive home. Everyone in the game is a champion and I have great respect for you all but I had to find a way to narrow it down.

Both Jay and S~V~S showed what I thought was good reasoning for their votes for people and/or objects, Jay had a clever post, and S~V~S is my oldest (in terms of length of time) friend in my mafia career so I will vote for both of them.

Then there are people I want to recognize for various reasons. c-bob and Quin and I had a special alliance in CC123 which made the game a delight and meant a lot to me while I was in the hospital. sig was, along with dunya, part of an alliance with me which made UPick an awesomely fun game and our alliance was important to the civ win. And DH, Enrique, Mac, and Elo were kind enough to give me their vote for an item in this game and I consider them all friends. I also believe all of these individuals would be thoughtful about the use of an item.

I decided to let random.com sort through those names and the top 3 were c-bob, Quin, and Mac.

To be clear, there is no mechanical reason I don't want people to change their votes- it's a courtesy to me, so I can keep up with the data of two polls and not have a bunch to do at the end of Day 0 and delay things. Lynch polls, people can change their votes a million times and it won't matter to me. With this one, I'm just saving myself a logistical headache. Thanks.
