Pretty close, I think. I can't see them from the building I'm in. We're on the second floor of a pretty secure building, so I am not in danger. We'll see how my walk home is though.

Oh yeah not good. How ironic would it be if you are stuck at work?

Yeah, I'm a little concerned about that, plus the inaugural parade which was supposed to start over an hour ago now looks like it might be passing by right when I'm trying to leave.

No kidding. The store is remodeling and apparently they have loads of "out of season" cases that they have to get rid of ASAP. The original prices of each bottle ranged from $7.99 to $14.99.

One lady was asking me about a pinot noir, and didn't know if she'd like it, but then said, "Well for a dollar I can learn to like it." She promptly went back to get a cart.

Sounds like it's a good idea to keep an eye on what liquor stores are up to.

Pinot Noir is my favorite wine, but all my work friends (minus dear Crystal) assumed I am a white wine drinker. Oh man. Would you have assumed I'm a white wine drinker? What does this mean? Am I having a white wine crisis of faith? I don't think there is anything wrong with white wines or white wine drinkers, but that is so just so dispositively not me.

Hm, I have no idea. Maybe girl = white wine? I dunno. I'll drink any wine that isn't too sweet.

No because all of the people in the room were women. I think it's because I have a known sweet tooth, but I just don't tend to favor sweet wines.

Today I had a banana as a dessert. WTF

I'm a big fan of Pinot Noirs too. Malbecs would fight with those as my favorite type of wine.

Also, I definitely prefer reds to whites.

Epi is right. YouTube is a wealth for good classes. I recommend Lesley Fightmaster channel because she has a flow ir class for every body, need, level, time amount, etc. I often do her classes when I can't make it to the studio.

That's true, but 1) I don't really have room in my house, and 2) my dad thinks it is anti-Catholic and would not like it. He's gone on whole spiels because someone used the word "karma."

That's really quite lovely.

You can do it, Matt. You need space equaling about a coffee table.
That is true, but the space problem is less of an issue than the other one.

Remember that Yoga just means union, and I think that's super apropos for Christianity, where union (amongst followers or the union of the trinity) is a lovely precept. Is your dad even going to know if you are doing Warrior 2 that that's Yoga?

Epi is right. YouTube is a wealth for good classes. I recommend Lesley Fightmaster channel because she has a flow ir class for every body, need, level, time amount, etc. I often do her classes when I can't make it to the studio.
I have a friend who's leading a workshop she created on yoga for rock climbers. I'm signed up and definitely attending!

But it's also a part of non-Catholic religious practices and that makes it bad. Also probably not.

That's fantastic! A lot of the yoga studio owners I know in St Pete are also rock climbing enthusiasts (both indoor and outdoor).

Yoga isn't a religious practice though - just think of it like Soccer or any other non-religious athletic activity. It can be incorporated into any religious belief (or non belief) the practitioner has.

I've talked to her about it before. She said she's had a hard time finding a studio that will cater to that mindset here in Eugene. As she tells me, a lot of people she has worked with consider rock climbing to be detrimental to yoga fitness (and vice versa). Primarily, flexibility is important in yoga, while rigidity is important in climbing.

My friend says they're great for balancing each other out. I'm surprised there are so many folks out there that disagree. Or maybe they're just firm in their beliefs.

I don't know that much about yoga, only done a few classes myself. But I had assumed yoga could supplement almost any lifestyle effectively, depending on the person's need.

That's true but from the standpoint of a particularly conservative Catholic it doesn't really matter.

Yoga may not be a religious practice, but it's certainly a spiritual one. It is absolutely not analogous to a purely athletic activity like soccer.

I had a strange dream in which Sorsha was hosting a weird game on this site. It was like a complex RPG kinda thing that took up a whole subforum, but had some things in common with mafia. There was definitely some kind of voting phase aspect, because in the dream I realized that I had signed up and then a few days later realized I had forgotten and missed a vote and Sorsha had warned that missing votes in this game was unacceptable. Don't know if it was like a lynch kind of vote or something more event-y/RPG-decision-y, I never really figured out what the game was really. All I know is that the setting/flavor/story was fantasy, like everyone was a wizard/sorceror with magical objects and potions, and that it was a long-term ongoing thing that anyone could join at any point. You could just join whenever you wanted by making your own thread titled with your name. There was a main thread that only Sorsha could post in to update the game story/events. Other than that I have no goddamn idea what was going on. Sounds like a fun concept though. :p

Agreed.

No matter how successful anyone is, it means just about nothing.

Actually, it can be if the practitioner seeks to only practice one of the eight limbs (asana = poses).
