What if sloonei is bad. Why are you so willing to trust another player's reads?
It’s not about Sloonei’s reads. If Sloonei says he has a pool of people who did something, I have reason to believe him. Another player has also referenced this reason in this thread, but I don’t remember who so good luck finding it.

MacDougall wrote: Tue Dec 11, 2018 10:19 pm If you named those five cats and said "who of these are most likely to kill nutella" I would say Lunalee.
I think Sloon's info is helpful, but I think this isn't a very good way to use it. These are team kills, not individual kills. I'd rather look at the Sloonei Five and lynch based on merit instead of NK analysis, especially in a setup like this.

I got linki'd and apparently this has already been said. I'll shut up until I finish the thread.

She is capable of arguing back and forth with someone for 20 pages because she wants to lynch the same person they do, but for a much more complicated reason that involves a long string of ability combos, and she won't accept the simple reason.

She is the deity people pray to when they need inspiration to tinfoil.

Still waiting to see that tinfoiling in this game.

Quin is an interesting second choice for me. I’ve only played one full game where he was bad (Mad Max), but he played the part brilliantly. I would expect him to be a tough but to crack. In this game he’s done all the usual Quin things, but there’s not much else behind that. He’s only done the usual Quin things. I didn’t get the sense there were a lot of unique or provocative reads in his ISO.

Kyle

DDL
Quin
G-man

I'm interested in the Sprityo/Sabie thing, less interested in the DH train.

I'm going to ISO Quin and see if it's Genuquin. Maybe solve this conundrum for everyone with my Quindar.

Given that there are more baddies among the 27 influencing us, more lurkers among the 27 that are easy fall guys, and no way anyone in this game can form a solid opinion on all 27 players?

I don't freakin' know, man. Mafia is more than math, that's why we play the game instead of running algorithms.

No.

Double-standards, and what not, but I don't care.

Women write differently than men.
Epi is bad for not checking the context behind why Luna was using the word valid.
Or Turnip is bad for posing the question without checking the context behind why Luna was using the word valid.

I think this is the only Quin/TH interaction.
If Quin is a mafia killing nutella, he'd have to be with TH, right? Unless the TH kill was not from a mafia team?

Do we know if the kills were both mafia kills, or if there's a serial killer? (I think I missed like 5 pages of mechanics discussion.)

Anyway this post could be teammate indicative IMO.

I know it's more than math, but I'm not just gonna go and ignore the math. The point is, this doesn't narrow things down at all. You could ignore most of the 27 and just pick whoever you suspect the most at the time, and the chance of success shouldn't change too much. If we limited ourselves to the first 5 players in alphabet order, it wouldn't change much either. It's extremely likely there is at least one scum in any random 5 person group.

The way I see, it only narrows the hunt down if you can limit to a # of players lower than the proportion of baddies in the game. Which means 2 players at most. 5 players is basically lottery.

I don’t think Quin has to be TH’s partner, but I don’t have a specific reason not to think so either. It’s possible TH was killed by a vig/serial killer. Two teams usually means they alternate kills each night.

Considering there are two mafias, I'd assume both kills were made by each mafia. Unles the mafias are alternating kills. Do we even know if that's the case?

I don’t disagree with you, DDL. Everything you’re saying is one of the reasons I waited a while to start pushing this angle. I didn’t want today to be a witch hunt against 5 specific players, and I don’t want to discourage people from discussing other things that might be valuable.

That said, I do want these 5 players to be in the conversation.

We don’t, but in my experience that’s been the standard rule on the Syndicate. Have there been two teams in any previous BR/LC games?

I find it impossible actually, since the role list already says they exist.

But iirc they seem to be limited to map mechanics so they can't kill all the time.

My point being that I would expect at least one non-mafia kill most nights.

I don’t think this is immediately relevant though. If you had to pick one of the five listed players, who would it be? If you could make us talk about anyone not on the list, who would you choose?

Right now? G-Man. Or maybe Kyle.

I'm liking Quin this game, and trying to suspect Luna early in a mafia game gives me dejavu.

I'm not super happy about lynching any of the four, actually. Then again, I don't think I have ISO'd any of them carefully. ISOs make me lazy.

Dark Worshipper - Can sacrifice another player three times in the game. Each kill will grant him extra, permanent powers. The role that he kills determines what the gained powers are. *secrets*
I believe I nmed this one as our likely Serial Killer when I made that list? Anyway, if I were this guy, I'd be sacrificing people ASAP. Good chance he did it last night, or at least tried.
Sakana Sashimi - Can move through water and land squares, and can swim beneath the water. Movement rate of 5 in the water. One-time kill of someone on the same square who is also in the water.
This one is either a civ vigilante, or a source of extra kill for the mafia. Beats me.

Savage Pixie - Can see who is within a ... ght alive.

THis one really feels like a civ vigilante, due to the inspect dead body thing.

Both this role and the Sashimi can only kill once. No idea if they would try to do that on Night 1. I wouldn't, but some people are more kill-happy.

No idea how the quote in the post above turned into a broken link. Posting again:
Savage Pixie - Can see who is within a one-square radius, and can kill someone within that radius once in the game. Undetectable from an outside square, and can only be seen on her square if she chooses. Once in the game, she can inspect a dead body and find out who targeted them on their last night alive.

Kris Kringle is coming to my house this year. I’m a civvie. Bank on it.

I’m phone posting at work to let you know my ISO’s are under way (read: I’ve done two so far). Don’t vote to “put me out of my misery.” I won’t tolerate that crap and you should suspect anyone who votes that way. If you’re going to vote for me, do it because you’re convinced I’m the best option. I won’t begrudge anyone of that because we’re all imperfect people making imperfect assumptions for fun on the Internet.

I signed up and I need to honor my commitment and find more time for this. It looks like people aren’t posting like hyperactive little ankle-biter dogs anymore, which will help. I’d like to post all of my ISO assessments at the same time. If I can get them done before the deadline, I will. If not, I’ll either post them at night if I’m not lynched or I’ll use them as a basis for following the game if I am.

I’m trying folks. I really am. Good luck hunting today. I’ll check back in later.

There seem to be a number of proximity triggers, and I would ‘t be surprised if there are more in the *secrets*, and sharing a square grants people BTSC. Why do you ask?

DDL seems to be assuming that there is only one mafia in your 5. There could be two, technically.

That made me start wondering if mafia are more likely to be close together or far away. Made me wonder if we could use that.

On further reflection, there's probably a pro/con regardless of abilities. Mafia far away from each other cover more kill targets, but close together avoid more town role effects.

First up, my color list:

Enrique: Mostly goof posts. Not really hunting or grinding. Did that whole "Angle Shooting" thing earlier which is whatever.

Lunalee: After a fluffy, lighthearted start, Here she suspects people for jumping onto Epi's DDL "case". Jumps up Colin's ass when Colin suspects Sloonei here. Dunks on nutella's vote reasoning RE: Jack here. Has a "good reason" to vote Colin since he jumped on DDL so early. This might have been a joke on Mac's part but the response seemed a little "nervous" to me. Votes Wilgy cuz she figures Wolbre is town. Without knowing exactly where the votes were at, it could be she was covering her ass and trying to look civ AF by voting the off-wagon, but IIRC her vote pushed Wilgy further into contention with Wolbre, so looks good. Here she says she "likes to think" the Wilgy wagon is good. She was on the Wilgy wagon, and just got done talking with a few people about how there are 2 mafia teams lol. Here she advocates Occam's Razor RE: TH's flip. http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 02311]Here She sticks to her guns RE: Colin, and poo-poo's the G-Man train. Here She follows that up with "reason to believe" G-Man is not guilty. Anyway, something's up with Luna. She's still a Yellow for me.

Tranq: Defends DDL then Here he defends Sloonei, wants to hear more from G-Man. When asked to give his suspects here instead he says there are people he'd rather not vote for, then tosses Doc in the mix as a possible vote. After tossing out some more names of people he trusts/won't vote, (Epignosis, Me) Tranq Defaults to Wilgy. Follows that with Another Wilgy vote today, saying he doesn't like that Wilgy popped in and then fucked off at will, and that TH might have soft-defended Wilgy. Overall, I don't like Tranq's D1 forced ignorance of the poll, and when pressed for suspects he instead offers people he won't vote for, which indicates to me he's scared to ruffle any feathers. Doc is an easy option, even if it is backed up by Doc's behavior and TH maybe defending him.

Doc: Fucked off all D1 until he was in danger, then he showed up and now he's fucked off again. He's demonstrated that he's able to play, and that he jumped into the thread at EOD when he was in danger of being lynched demonstrates to me that he's either paying attention himself or has people paying attention for him.

---

I'd rank the Rainbow 4 in order of baddieness as such:

Doc
Tranq
Luna
Enrique

Onto Sloonei's ISO's:

I read the Kyle one and nothing jumped out at me as bad.
I'll read the Luna one but I've given my thoughts on Luna.

Reading the G-Man one now, I'll post this here but I'll continue to read:

Yeah this doesn't look great for G-Man. As Sloonei says in his ISO, G-Man placed a silent vote on Sloonei, which I agree is icky-poo-poo. Also his "reads" in his juliets vote post are indeed "vague" and look to me like running in place. Of the reads I've read so far, G-Man looks the most bad (Between Kyle/Luna/G-Man)
