Re: The Wire Mafia
So, a part of me doesn't really want to vote not-Sloonei, but I haven't wanted to actually get Sloonei lynched for a while now, but if I'm originally right-now wrong and he is bad, and gets lynched, I don't want to be seen as saving him, and tbh I can't really remember enough of the rest of my votes to look like I've saved him before. There was the deal. I think I took a vote off of him in that. So that would look bad.
But also. I shouldn't really care about that. I kinda think he might be civ, I am civ, and I don't think LC is civ.
But also, I'm bad at civving, so should I use what I think to be a factor or just let it playout. Or even go with the flow and still vote Sloonei against my own judgement but with a sizeable minority.
I'm going with what's actually in the spirit of the game and voting [VOTE: LC] aubergine.

This one.Long Con wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 8:55 pm If I were bad, my Day 1 vote would have certainly been on Rej by the end of the day. Two Civs on the line, and the baddie comfortably a few votes lower? Easiest soft-bus ever. Makes speedchuck a little suspicious to me, but I'd need to see how his Day 2 Rej vote progression really went down.
I called bullshit.
The votes D1 were 5 Dom, 5 Drago, 2 Rej.
You changing Dom to Rej makes that 4 Dom, 5 Drago, 3 Rej.
Either you're claiming, if you were bad:
1) You'd make that change far enough ahead of time, meaning that if just 1 person switched to Rej as well he'd be a now strong lynch candidate. If he did get lynched then or within a few phases, you would've gotten some towncred.
or
2) You wouldn't make that change more than a minute or two before the lynch end, not giving people enough time to follow you, and then if/when Rej did get lynched, no one would care about you changing the vote to him (and it actually actively probably would've looked like a distancing vote).

Re: The Wire Mafia
I had a whole post and everything about why LC was full of it and stuff. But it got eaten, apparently, cause I finished getting caught up to find no responses to it and was super confused and then realized that. So now I have to remake it.

Re: The Wire Mafia
Pretty sure I remember trying to get you lynched D2.Long Con wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 8:39 pm Too many townreads on me too early. Best to shake them off a bit, that's why I was "blurry" on Day 2. I stepped back from the game a bit and made some intentionally suspicious posts. Lemme go find them.
Actually before I get to them, Sloonei brought up this post:
... looking to pin me to a situation where I said "Rej or Drago maybe" before, but went with Drago. 1. I never switched to Drago, I kept my vote on Dom. 2. Dom and Drago were the tied voteleaders at five apiece at that point, while I think Rej just had two. My point is, it wasn't really a Rej-or-Drago situation by then. Less than ten minutes left in the lynch, Rej wasn't a viable option. I spoke about Drago (and not Rej) at that point for that reason.
Anyways, back to where I was like "f this town-read crap, I need to muddy myself.
Let's start with this one (that I haven't seen Sloonei reference):
This is when my radar started pinging a lot, about Sloonei buddying me. So I voted for him, and tried to be a little scummy with my second vote:
... going for an inactive felt like something that should get a rise out of some players. It didn't really, as I recall. So...Long Con wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 12:25 amI don't like it. I think you're buddying me. [VOTE: Sloonei] aubergine
I'll put the second vote on Zemmi. I don't mind using the second lynch to cut an inactive. [VOTE: Zemmi] aubergine
Even scummier! Where did my boo vote come from?? Had I ever talked about boo before? Come on, people.Long Con wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 10:27 amNah. Why would the Mafia team care about bussing a nonplayer member of their team? That's the easiest bus ever. I'll get on that boo vote. [VOTE: boo] aubergineDragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 10:03 am I'm thinking lynching zemmi is actually a good idea conceptually, now. But the fact so many people seem to be onboard with it is giving me pause.
But still, these unwelcome strong town reads....
I try to play it off. dunya didn't even bite. If she had, I probably would have followed up with some (truthful) thing about how I make the buddying accusation when I'm bad sometimes as well.
Actually, yeah, here we go, Colin DID question my crappy votes a little! I'll spoiler it because I want to include the gif that I really like:
Like, is that what passes for an acceptable answer these days??Spoiler: show
Then comes another one:
Like, COME ON. Who's voting for me right now? Are you even playing this game, that you would vote for me and not even bring ANY of this crap up?
That's pretty much it for that. Do with it what you will, this is my honest play yesterday. You wanna vote me for not voting Rej, fine. Shame on you for not finding ANY of that other stuff suspicious.

Re: The Wire Mafia
Actually, of Colin, TSP and Sloonei, I didn't really care who got lynched. I just wanted to make Sloonei not vote in the way he seemingly wanted to, so locking him up into a position I had a gun to his head was my endgoal. I made him a deal, he took it, I correctly assumed LA would move a vote to Sloonei to replace my keeping Sloonei in a dangerous position, so all I had to do to keep Sloonei locked was threaten to move him into first with Rej if he broke.Dragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 6:38 am Road map:
Sloonei really wanted to lynch Colin. He also had a few other people he was okay with lynching, such as Rej, TSP and LC.
Boo really wanted to lynch TSP. He also wanted to lynch Sloonei. He was not interested on lynching LC or Rej. He was okay with lynching Colin.
Boo realized he has less votes on him than Sloonei, so he made "an offer you can't refuse" to Sloonei. Vote for TSP with him, and Boo would change his second vote from Sloonei to Colin. Sloonei accepted. By this point, Sloonei had already voted for Rej, but changed off it on the grounds of "there are enough people on him".
Towards the EoD, Sloonei voiced interest in switching to a Rej lynch again. Boo then reminded Sloonei he still had a gun pointed to his head, and threatened to change his vote back to him if he backed down on the "deal". Sloonei accepted it.
This is what happened. Interpret the alignments how want.
Meaning: for putting my votes on 2 people I was fine with seeing lynched, I was able to get Sloonei's votes onto people I was fine with seeing lynched, and kept Sloonei out of play for the rest of the lynch if he wanted to survive. From an information standpoint, it wound up probably being detrimental, but I really didn't trust Sloonei at the time so I didn't want to let him make any moves that would decide the lynch.

ayayyy
First the ISO to my voters:
DDL: Has a misinterpretation of things against me. Doesn't like me for reasons. Tho I agree with him on the points against boo. Boo voted Drago off with uss and then he tried to sell us a Zemmi lynch possibility. His vote on boo was well placed, seems town.
Oh and yes @Dragon D. Luffy I am a noob, what attracts me in mafia are mechanics and setups and roles, I just admire the mindgaming in the DPs and I can't reach that level yet.
Speedchuck: Also went for Creature like DDL early DP1, often civillian behaviour to clear out a person's alignment or stance. Can't find scummy posts in his ISO. Also what does he have against weasleness? Weasles are cute animals. I want one as pet dafuck
Jack: Normal entrance, didn't went for creature, sheeped a vote on me which I rly don't like, until I was thematized more. Gave fuel to my wagon basically which I don't apreciate. Between the posts you can often find WIFOM... #422 I didn't like the "blah blah statement"
I see a dimension where jack and boo interactions could be W/V or W/W interactions. Deserves its own reanalysis.
#1007 lmao, is this throw off something a civ would say? and if yes why? @Jackofhearts2005
less townlean on Jack, but I don't think scum would recklessly jump on my wagon at this point?
TSP: Interesting ISO, he likes using the term W/W and this implies that he is explicitly scumhunting and he is flexible about it. Could be to create chaos or to find early leaking scum. Slightly more civ lean in the entrance. Suspecting Sloonei, then moving votes from nutella to me, + lecturing boo, since then his votes didnt change. Interesting that he did not interact with the Dom and Dragomir wagons. Were they civ caused autorunner?
50/50 on TSP depending on his bigger sheme.
Sloonei: Targets DDL, a justified target to inquisition, flips later to Boo. alot of meta talks in their posts which I cant dissect. Questioning both wagons alot is giving Sloo civ points. #653 the "shrug vote post" was kinda cute and innocent. Another townlean.
#683 @Sloonei I think we played together before? or did you host for me? there was something before that is not accurate...
and I missed answering your question, I answered because I wanted to speed up forcing an interaction, since I am mre like a peek a boo player. lmao
And yes me and Drago are compatible as scum partners, we won games together, one or two no remembering.
Sloonei asks justified questions further on, I know zero about their meta at that point, feels like dissecting a complete stranger and it's interesting.
Sloo vs nut? deserves its own post.
I am tired as fuck I will place votes now
one will be @boo the other will be Jack, I am ready to move my votes to TSP for the sake of seeing where it leads with my reeks or nutella because there is also something going on.
Will keep other ISOs for tomorrow.
Good Night

I'd say 3-4 mafia and two third parties probably with survivorish roles, I don't think the game could support a SK given how small it is and there being role reveals. It's also possible one of the third parties is a mechanism against role claiming, if they're not I'd be wary of the mafia having a role that could punish a player for revealing info/claiming.
I note it down

Reason 1: WTF was this vote?
Reason 2: Replacing JJJ who had people reading him as Mafia apparently doesn't warrant Sloonei speaking on it, but does warrant mentioning it? Why?
Reason 3: Talks a lot about how he can't be around a lot and be well informed; but has (as of this writing) 220 posts, the 2nd most.
Reason 4: Consistenly asking for things already discussed in thread that he has apparently missed and uses as an opportunity to 'engage' people by asking for more. Does not actually then follow up on almost any of it in a meaningful way though.
There's a fuckton of examples for this point (I included only a handful), and it's a big one for why I don't trust him.
Dunya even calls Sloonei out on it, and Sloonei claims he has been following up as he is able (while in reality, at this point in N1, imo there are 0 posts where Sloonei is following up on questions he threw out in any meaningful way).

There was a narrative on Dom, and I do not believe at all that Sloonei was unaware of it. LC and I discussed it a fair bit.

I think I get the reasons for the Rej votes, but they all seem high-level meta based on trusting that Drago can apparently read him and be right all of the time in a single day. I don't know if it's true and no one has offered real proof of that, so I don't know if that's just a train people jumped on thoughtlessly or legitimate. I'm pretty skeptical of it. So I don't really want to vote for him unless someone is willing to compile some links of Drago reading Rej as mafia on D1 and being right.
So... I feel like that means if I do move my LC vote (which I'm going to shortly, I feel a bit better on another pass over a few things and getting caught up) it would be to put it on Colin or TSP probably. But I don't know if I distrust the Rej lynch enough to actively try and prevent it. That many people voting without at least genuinely believing it's true would be pretty disappointing, so I think maybe it's better to let that play out.
Maybe just go back to Zemmi. Still no replacement so...

Re: The Wire Mafia
Sloonei: in regards to LC seeming insincere about Dom. It starts here.boo wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 8:48 pmSorry. To clarify, I mean when Dom is very quiet (by which I mean, barely posting. Will come in to vote and call it, and that's pretty much the extent), is when I've found he's pretty much always actually mafia. The rest of the time... if he's around and posting anything substantive, it almost always makes me want to lynch him early on.Sloonei wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 8:43 pmI do not follow the highlighted portion, boo. Are you saying that Dom has specifically been Not Quiet this game? If so, then why does he remain in consideration for a vote?boo wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 8:29 pmAh. Tbh, Dom in general reads bad to me. I agree with you about how he comes across in this game, I just don't find the other game to be that different, or his game in general to be that different at the start of the game. It's when he gets quiet though, that I found he tends to actually be bad. And that I don't really see here so I'm undecided on if I want to vote for him. Be helpful if he were around to respond to stuff directly.Long Con wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 8:10 pmIn this game, the bulk of his posts are about calling things bullshit and firing off mirroring questions with no evidence of caring about the answers. In Girl Genius, he was more interactive, gave reads, agreed or disagreed with people, and said things like "It matters that you have avoided answering direct questions."
Did anyone avoid answering his direct questions in this game? Can you tell if he even cares?
So the reasons I'm seeing so far for voting for him just aren't enough to make me do that, because it does just seem like normal Dom to me. I think I understand why LC disagrees, but I also refuse to trust LC on principle, he's far to tricky for that to ever be a smartplay.
You had a question somewhere in there about if I meant a bad read on Dom in general or this game. I meant in general. He's just someone who always feels off to me.
And then Colin. He dropped so far off my radar up until you mentioned him that I forgot I voted for him initially yesterday. I could still go for lynching him though. I think I had a pretty good suspicion there.
But you're still mafia. We should lynch you.

Re: The Wire Mafia
I didn't vote for you because you voted for me Sloonei. I was talking about lynching you during N1 and it was even on my mind D1. You just happened to vote for me in the first ten seconds of the day. And I think you know all of that. You've been around a lot, but have also continuously played dumb, acting like you don't know what's going on. I don't buy it. Not even a little bit.

Re: The Wire Mafia
Nanook told me in our super secret "murder inactives with fire" BTSC that in mafiachat Sloonei has been pushing to kill you tomorrow night, so you should vote for Sloonei. And for your second vote... Just preferably not me. I dunno. Can I interest you in voting LC or Zemmi?

Re: The Wire Mafia
If Dom had been bad, LC would've been right, and then my finding it insincere would've been wrong. But Dom wasn't, so that reinforces my thinking that LC wasn't genuinely going after Dom because he thought he was bad.Jackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 3:08 pmWhy? How does the vigilante buying into LC’s read make his read less sincere?boo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 11:56 pmI didnt mean you were literally the triggerman. But Omar (more likely than a vig, imo) bought into your Dom suspicion and killed him for it and that didn't work out, which makes me double down on my belief in your insincerity on the case against Dom.

Re: The Wire Mafia
I think it's possible. That could just be distancing, given LCs reaction to it. And if I have one of them wrong, I Dunya also has no reasons she wouldn't fit as the second. So 2/3 makes sense to me. 3/3 just seems like a paranoid claim so I avoided saying that. But even that's possible...

Re: The Wire Mafia
LC and Sloonei. Dunya could be too, there's nothing that rules it out, I just don't have much of a read one way or the other right now. The waiting around to see the night post when it meant staying up past 4am seemed civ, but a lot of other stuff has seemed mafia.

yea, it would be S1, fairly early on. In later seasons the cow (Betty? B...eatrice? Pretty sure she had a B name) mostly existed for pretty meh jokes about milking and teats.nutella wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 1:04 amThat actually sounds somewhat familiar (but maybe I've been incepted lol) was it in season 1 bc I think I only ever watched season 1 but even my memories of that are vagueboo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 1:00 amWalter kept a pet cow in the lab that he experimented on. Re: The Wire Mafia
Other than the part where he listed those traps, I got no meaning out of those posts he made. Like you said, the posts weren't soft. But. Assertive I don't agree with. They felt like the absolute barest minimum to be involved without actually getting involved. Because he used those posts to justify votes that... I have no idea how he got to.Sloonei wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 12:58 am My positive interpretation is that Tony responded to my question very assertively. Scum Tony might have fallen into any of those traps he listed.
My negative interpretation is that Scum Tony is clever enough to come up with an assertive response to a question like that. He doesn’t want to appear soft, so he throws the question back in my face.
Typing it out now, I actually think I feel more strongly about the latter. Interesting.
