Re: Arkham Mafia [ENDGAME]
Yay! My first real win on this site!!! it only took 10 months
I can't wait for an actual banner!!
Couldn't have done it without such a great civ team behind me. In hindsight, I'm glad I got killed when I did because I was never (knowingly) night targeted by any inmate including the joker. So that's nice.
I figured TH might have been Batman, and I'm glad I called DFaraday though I should have hit that case home. He was just so calm and collected in his defense I felt iffy. And Dom, I KNEW you weren't a civ from the beginning when you started jumping on me, but I figured maybe you were an inmate up until the end.
Thanks for an awesome game, Epi. I really wish I could have made a connection with Batman so that my messages weren't just air-filled anus cakes of info.

For now, sabie's giving us a good reason to vote her, and I will be with limited service up until eod so I am voting her.
then we can look at other low posters. We do need to start thinning the herd, but I don't think the time is right yet. When Mafia stop killing or we have almost as many no-shows as contributors- that's when I think we'll need to shave off the stubble.

This might just be one of those things that I won't be able to understand between us this game, Dom. One of the many accruing seeds of misunderstanding that I feel might be sown into a tree of suspicion as the game rains on.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 5]
Woohoo press conference!
Well that helps set up the logic puzzle. Only thing is, unless we share in thread our clues, we're most likely at a disadvantage in getting that prize over the mafia, who can spread out and share. With only 5 unique locations and hints, my logic grid is very empty with the info I have. I only hope that the mafia don't have their shit together.
On the flip side of the coin, I've seen sabie lurking a couple times in this thread, and has made no effort to defend herself or answer questions posed to her. At least acknowledge that you're aware, sabie! I am very much leaning to voting her today.

I'm still in the mind that Gordon doesn't know shit and would love to hear from him otherwise, and will be staying out of the juliets/DH drama. I think juliets did give a good response, and I think that DH also laid out good arguments. I laughed, I cried, I looked at old yearbook photos. I'm a shell of my former self.
The continuing disappearance of posters is making my hands sweat, because this is hunting season for mafia to start taking out the people that are still alive and kicking. My fear is that by Day 15 (should we not have hanged all the mafia by then, god help us), there will just be Casper the Ghost and my 5-years-dead grandmother duking it out for the civs. No me gusta.

Also, sprityo and ekeknat haven't been logged in since before yesterday's lynch, so I while that doesn't absolve them from being secondhand on the mafia team that killed bea, they themselves had nothing to do with the decision to kill her.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 4]
I agree that band wagoners might be something to look at, but at the same time I still think mafia would be putting votes away from the beaten path. Like, I don't really know how you play as mafia, but it sure looks to me like it would be easy to put suspicion on band wagoners because there have been so many.DFaraday wrote:Voted the hospital because I haven't been there yet.
You're right, I just read back over Sprityo's posts and was astonished to see that he has 83 posts, yet I couldn't remember a single comment from him all game. He's been pushing for low/nonposters from Day 1 to the present and asks questions without giving much opinion himself. And, as you said, the bandwagony votes only give him a worse look.Turnip Head wrote:Has anyone read sprityo's ISO? It's full of sketch. It's all mechanics questions for the hosts, discussion of mechanics, and last minute votes. In lynches with a clear runaway candidate, sprityo votes with the majority. In tighter lynches which would require him to take a stand, he votes for Floyd or talks about how we should get rid of the nonparticipants. The pattern is clear. sprityo is doing his best to not do anything that will put him in the spotlight. I encourage everyone to reread him. Let's get this guy in the hotseat pronto.MovingPictures07 wrote: sprityo -- The d2 lynch doesn't really give us any information about sprityo (he voted last for Nero, and many of his posts have not been particularly thick in content. In addition, his d3 vote for Floyd could be seen as an easily justifiable vote for a lurker to avoid coming up with suspicions. Not a good look. With that said, I am tone reading him as genuine, and he has brought forth insight throughout the game, mainly in the form of questions. I need to really think about him more though; he's the weakest of my town reads and could easily drop to a mafia read if he doesn't pick up more townie points.

Actually I take back what I said.
Doc, save TH tonite. I think he is more important to the civvie cause this game than I have been. And j tend to agree with his most recent post.
Glorf, I have said early on that I am inherently suspicious of nice posters, and you have exuded niceties all game. You're very expressive in your language.
But your general ideas seem fringing on actual theories and illogical paths. I don't mean to discourage you if you're completely genuine. Hell, my first few games here were just throwing out theories and hoping any stuck.
But most of your defenses have been reading as "I don't understand why you suspect me because I'm good" or "I'm not bad, because I'm good".
I don't buy the theory that you are TwoFace. I think Matt is stretching there, nor would I see a point in leaving breadcrumbs for that role. I thought maybe you could be neutral for a long time, and mayhaps you are, but I think you are not civ. Based on your arguments and counter arguments.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Night 4]
MovingPictures07 wrote:For those of you who contend that my actions have resulted in a lynch in which we "learned nothing" and are doubting that there was a point to everything, let me lay out the following:
- The only role with a publicly known lynch stop is Robin. He is a town-friendly independent.
- The only other roles that could be responsible for a lynch stop inevitably are those with *Secrets* qualifiers. There are no GCPD or mafia roles with *Secrets*, thus making the other possibilities inmate-based.
The inmates with *Secrets* in their roles are: Joker (deceased, Black Rock), The Riddler, Poison Ivy, and Bane.
That leaves three distinctly independent possibilities for my actions. Poison Ivy, if you're inclined to believe I was not lying about being poisoned, is not only an illogical fit for my behavior but a thematically unlikely one. Given PI can poison someone every night and her role seems to center around that function, it doesn't stand to reason why she would have a lynch stop. The Riddler and Bane are possible. I will not role hint or role out myself, but I have given you all the following information:
I can only be one of four roles. None of those roles are Mafia roles (or GCPD, for that matter).
So I have the following questions for you:
1) If I am Robin, then what explanation do you see in my ISO for my behavior?
2) If I am The Riddler, then what explanation do you see in my ISO for my behavior?
3) If I am Bane, then what explanation do you see in my ISO for my behavior?
Since we don't know the *Secrets* to The Riddler and Bane, let's talk about Robin.
Robin is rewarded for every mafia (5%) and inmate (12%) lynch, and punished for every GCPD (negative 2%) and Wayne Manor (negative 8%) lynch. Even though the punishment for a dead GCPD may seem minuscule, it is mathematically difficult to reach 100% to begin with, let alone with each additional GCPD death; moreover, it is mathematically impossible for Wayne Manor to win if GCPD do not win.
If I am Robin, therefore, I have no reason to actively work against the GCPD's cause; if anything, I have incentive to work with it. In addition, we all know that the lynch was stopped d1 when Scotty and DrWilgy were tied for the lynch. If anyone recalls my Wilgy = Robin theory, the main result out of it was that I proposed that Scotty is confirmed civilian. If instead I am Robin, I gained by perpetuating that theory because, if I did save Scotty, it gives me a way to disseminate information about a civilian without outing myself.
Note that the Mafia have no incentives whatsoever to kill any of Wayne Manor, since they win once GCPD are dead. Since I am confirmed not to be GCPD, then there is no reason for me to draw any night kills. If I do, then that's a night kill that doesn't go to a civilian, and the mafia are stupid. Conversely, there is no reason for me to be lynched, since GCPD and inmates do not need me dead specifically (again, there are *Secrets*, but we can't speculate on unknown qualities). Regarding Scotty then, since he was nearly lynched d1, he is saved from being lynched subsequently, and if the Mafia want to get rid of him, they will have to use up a night kill to do so. But in doing so, they don't even know whether Scotty actually is GCPD or whether he's Wayne Manor, the latter of which they do not need dead to win.
Now, if I'm The Riddler or Bane, then I want to tell you as little as possible about my *Secrets*, I would imagine, and I would want to float this "I am Robin" theory as much as I can without directly outing myself, since it would be in my own best interest.
It's up to you to decide what role you think my actions reflect. I had been catching suspicion since the start of the game, but it intensified in the aftermath of the d2 lynch. I figured my lynch would be inevitable; rather, I wanted it to be, and I thought it would be best to get it out of the way now before any other variables mess with the plan. In addition, most of my chaos posting specifically designed to get myself lynch was enacted before I was cured of poison, and I wanted to be lynched before the poison could take its toll.
At the bare minimum, now you all know that I can only be less than a handful of roles, and that there is potential additional information. Of course, this is all assuming that none of the roles excluding *Secrets* do not have additional abilities or information.
So, please, tell me how we've "learned nothing".

Doc, save me tonight.

well I got a little bug and was throwing up every hour on the hour last night and am traveling all day today. I will not be on at all and still feel like shit. I'm trying my best not to have the guy next to me get nervous and get me thrown of lf the plane because of Ebola or some shit.
Who is he then, Dom? Because I thematically see two possibilities, and one of those possibilities I've already expressed interest in before day 4 started. I think MP is nothing but good for town.Dom wrote:I don't trust MP. I tink it's become obvious he isn't bad, but I do not trust him.

Dom that's literally the only justification I can see in him trying to get lynched.Dom wrote:I think TH's case has merit too, and I do not see the crumb. As for the lynch, I don't particularly think I have seen evil MP, he finds it so hard to keep that glee out of his tone when he's bad, but if he wants to go he wants to go.
I also still think THs case on Mac had merit, but if everyone is seeing this breadcrumb, I could not find it, but I will take peoples word for it. The fact that TH made the case, then backed off of it hard must make it a fairly substantial one. So I am willing to step back on that, but I don't love it.
I will be in and out today, but will be in for the night well before the poll ends.

I think MP thinks he won't win. He insn't defending himself with any vigor like he did in Star Wars where he was bad, but this is also a game that is so out of meta for MP that I can't really tolerate that comparison.
And @Mac, I never said he was cig friendly. I just don't think he is mafia. And I fear that if he is not fog friendly, then he doesn't have our best interests in mind for getting himself lynched.

I don't think MP is mafia at this point and I'm not sure I want to give in to his demands to kill himself. Assisted suicide is a controversial topic and will be the next major cultural debate in this country, but I don't think we're ready to broach that topic yet.
And are all of you with an MP content with the prospect of him being Ras Al Ghul? It would seem that no one is considering that possibility. We don't know the alignment of Wilgy, zebra or sig. I don't think Wilgy or sig are bad but who the hell knows. I would be very much surprised if MP is in fact bad based on his play thus far

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 4]
Do we think that any of Nero's teammates would have jumped on him early without provacation?
Looking through some people that voted sig, I'm finding DFaraday fishy.
This is the first time he mentions Nero, bringing him up as a suspect early on when he hadn't much of any heat. This is the one thing that goes in DFaraday's favor. Why mention Nero, out of all the people her could have named as a potential suspect?
This is where DFaraday seems like he might be defending a bit.
Nero complains that he isn't the Riddler. Matt comes in and calls out Nero to be mafia. Then DFaraday swoops in and brings up Enrique's theory that Nero might be the joker BUT BUT BUT then does a good job of waving the carrot on a stick back over to Matt during Day 2, suggesting Matt isn't town, and should be lynched to see if Nero is really the joker.
Ignoring Matt's claim that Nero is mafia instead of the Joker/Riddler.
DFaraday keeps with this Joker theory, offering scenarios that Matt could be using to find Nero bad, but settling on the "statistics" that Matt is probably Bad.
"Matt: Why do you suspect Nero?" Is the grandstanding question he uses to size Matt up. I think this could be because DFaraday knew Nero was bad, and wanted to figure out how Matt knew.
DFaraday uses zebra's defense of Nero as a springboard. He says he's sorta suspicious of Nero, but puts the blame on the bandwagoners and the "convenience" of his vote. Throwing them under the bus even before the result of Nero's alignment. To further distance, he comes out of nowhere with a 'sig's comments make me feel like he's bad'.
He gets on LoRab's case for only claiming Matt is the Joker. Which is calling the kettle black, because that's ALL DFaraday has done concerning Nero.
"Matt has denied claiming Nero as the Joker" -oh, so now he's giving credence to Matt's suggestions?
"you haven't cited any reasons since for still suspecting Nero" -defending again.
He finally settles on sig, but not before feeling suspicious of LoRab, for doing exactly what he was doing.
Nero's team wanted sig dead.
I dunno guys, I don't think DFaraday is looking good from my standpoint.

Sorry, I must have missed it, Glorf.
And MP is "interesting". I agree, he's an interesting sock, indeed. But you say you probably won't vote him, because he's too proud to self-lynch.
So you were away for a day and have no suspicions whatsoever?
You are interesting, Glorfindel.
So do you suspect Typh? You say you "could've been forgiven" in thinking Typh was bad when he was good in Pikmin. I'm not even sure how that correlates to this game. Are you saying without the handicap, you would have read him wrong, and now you are nervous you are reading him wrong this game? I feel like your intrigue of him is circular and non-committal.Glorfindel wrote:Hey, beabea wrote:I'm curious as to whether or not you saw anything from the last phase as a result of being silenced. That's a good point, but no. To be honest, I was more relieved than anything when I found out I was silenced. Do we know who is silenced today? Is everyone accounted for so far?
As far as my suspicions right now, I don't have a lot. The whole Sig situation has shaken my confidence to the core. Typhoony seems rather strange to me this game for reasons I can't quite put my finger on but looking back to Pikmin Mafia, he was Captain Charlie and his identity was revealed only to me. The funny thing was, even though he was Town, had I not know he was, I think I could've been forgiven to think he wasn't. MP is kinda interesting - I was Mafia with him in Star Wars and as a consequence, I have the greatest admiration and respect for his ability. From conversations I've had with him, I honestly can't seem him as one of those 'Self-lynching' types - I think he's too proud for that despite what pressure he may feel from his real life circumstances. We've got a long way to go this Day phase but I have to say I can't see myself voting for him at this stage...
