If you'd like to join, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you an invite. We currently have 10 teams but the more the merrier.

There will be a live draft, currently set for September 5th at 8pm EST. Please vote in the poll so I know what time works for you.

Pretty standard scoring, but a few tweaks: .5 PPR (point per reception) and bonuses for big yardage games. Check the scoring settings and let me know if you have any concerns.

Epig and TH, I just had TH email me the invite to the email account where I registered for espn and then I clicked join. Now the syndicate league appears with my other two.

Just another thought, we could merge with the Prog Archives fantasy league if they're interested? BWT, myself and Epignosis (and I think Elohcin as well) are all already registered in that league.

Juliets specifically requested we use ESPN so I'd like to try it. I normally use Yahoo but I'm not crazy about their app interface.

Everyone from the PA league is welcome to join, but I'd like to make this a yearly Syndicate tradition

So... I've never played fantasy football before. I know practically nothing about football. I am really busy as well, but I'm going to be taking a break from mafia for a little while after Recuritment IV and Angry Birds, since I think I've been overdue an official actual break, and it's been requiring so much emotional energy from me that I need to funnel back through my PhD work.

I still obviously really want to do something recreational with you folks that doesn't require nearly as much energy. How much do I need to know about the sport to have fun with this, do you think?

We are at 12, which is pretty much the perfect league size. Ace and timmer need to register their teams, and I'm waiting for JJJ and MM to send me their e-mail addresses so they can register.

Timmer is the only one who's not sure if the draft time will work for him, so... hopefully it works for him :P

I'd like to keep it at 12, but if anyone else would still really like to play, please PM me... I'll see what I can do

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the the Yahoo interface either, but we've been using Yahoo for PA for awhile now.

Remember when we tried to set up a fantasy baseball league and only you and I signed up? :P

I am most likely going to change it to 2 WR's + Flex now that we have a few more teams, but that's how I usually play in 10-man leagues and it's never a problem, WRs are everywhere. We also have a short bench so that will help.

I'll take a look at tweaking the settings during the next couple days; I'll communicate any changes to points/roster sizes here in thread and you'll be able to see changes on the league page as well. I won't be making any changes after we draft. Speak now or forever hold your peace.

In browser mode it's fine, but Yahoo's mobile app is totes lame.

There's definitely a learning curve if you've never played before and/or don't follow football, but you'll get the hang of it within a couple of weeks. It's not terribly complicated. As long as you don't completely tank your draft, and you keep up with injury news for your players, you'll be okay.

I do have one alternate player waiting in the wings if you decide you want to play, Rico (since we need an even number). Sockface has no idea what he's doing either, so you'd be in good company :P

So I've had something come up that may conflict with the time of the draft on Saturday. What I want to know is: How much of a presence will I need to have during that time? Is it something I can do on my phone sporadically, or do I have to be here at my computer for a solid chunk of time?

You will either need to be present for about an hour, or you can set up an auto-draft where you rank the players in the order you would want them and, if available, you'll draft those players.

You can also draft from your phone if you're using the app; you would only need to be present every ~10ish minutes to make your pick.

I used to do fantasy football back in the day. Not enough time to keep up with individual players. Maybe next year I'll jump in. I'll be too busy with the baby mid-season this year.

I'm trying to run a simplified fantasy football game myself here. If I don't get at least 8 people to sign up though, I'll scrap it and try again next year.
