Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Night 5)
DrWilgy put himself out there in the face of a landslide vote for Bubbles and stood in her defense. He took total responsibility for his read and explained in a thorough manner. I don't think his maneuver makes a lot of sense as a team mate of Bubbles because it was never terribly likely to actually result in a different player being lynched. He has literally begged for the spotlight by being wrong about her. Right now I am not inclined to view him with much suspicion for this.

Do we know that the early recruitment wasn't anonymous?timmer wrote:Hard to say how early to go back. I don't have the time, but others can track back to each moment it was announced that Ubby recruited and then search for people who seemed to start giving Bubbles a pass soon after. As for Bubbles being the first recruit? If Ubby was going for a team of quiet, out of the way players as a strategy? I could maybe see it? Let's say Ubby is a newer player to the site maybe, doesn't have the history... Bubbles may have been picked up early, but I'd bank more on the later, anonymous entry type recruitments.DharmaHelper wrote:Earlier? You think Tiny was an early recruit? Regarding Bubbles, I would look more towards the people supporting Bubbles earlier in the game than later on to truly find her teamies.

Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Night 5 End)
The Price of Cowardice
Ahriman had moved quickly from his meeting with Caelia, to attend a rendezvous of a very different nature. While Caelia worked to prepare for Ubzargan's forces, Ahriman had assembled a small strike force, designed to take down the demonic force that Azura Nokomis had raised from the depths.
He reached the crossroads where the meeting was to take place, and saw that Ricochet was already there, awaiting Ahriman's arrival. They clasped hands as Ahriman approached. "Grand Master," said Ricochet solemnly, "My skills are yours to command on this all-important mission."
"Thank you, Ricochet... but where is DisgruntledPorcupine?" Ahriman peered down the road.
Ricochet scoffed. "He probably wont' even-" he stopped when he saw DP jogging up the road, out of breath, his spiny armour clanking loudly.
"Sorry guys," panted DP. "Lost track of time, but I'm here now and ready to get this done!"
"I have a plan," said Ahriman. "We will be able to destroy this Chuddekon... together!"
* * * * *
Later that night, they were in Position. Azura rode atop the hulking monster, laying waste to anything in their path. "Ok," said Ahriman. "DP will activate his Apathy Field, rendering the beast uncaring, as I move in to apply the Scorpion's Sting Technique to its spine. Rico, you will ambush Azura when she tries to retaliate, and neutralize her." The others nodded in understanding, and they each moved into position.
"Now!" shouted Ahriman, and rushed forward to face the giant beast. "Activate your field, DP!" The Chuddekon glared down at Ahriman, drooling, and roared. Ahriman's eyes grew wide, and he looked back to see DisgruntledPorcupine disappear into the trees, fleeing. Cursing, he turned to follow, nimbly avoiding the Chuddekon's snapping jaws and lashing tentacles.
Azura had dismounted to investigate, and Ricochet leapt from a nearby branch to incapacitate her with a hearty drop-kick, but he burned to ash in midair when he got within a few feet of her. She turned and chuckled. "Fire Shield, Rico. Who do you think taught it to the Pyromancer?"
* * * * *
Rushing awkwardly through the thick brush, DP cursed the heavy armour that had protected his life so many times. He couldn't get the horrific sight of the dark beast out of his mindm and the terror was all that mattered.
He tripped over a thick root and hit the ground hard. Pausing for a second to catch his breath, he listened. The roars of the Chuddekon were now far enough away that he allowed himself a sigh of relief. He gasped when he looked up to see Ahriman standing before him, frowning in disgust.
"Your cowardice has cost many lives today," spat Ahriman. "But it shall take no more!" Quick as a viper, Ahriman struck DP on the back of the neck with the Scorpion Sting Technique, and was walking away before DP had even realized that he was dead.
To be continued...!
Ricochet has been killed by Azura Nokomis. DisguntledPorcupine has been killed by Ahriman, Grand Master.
It is now Day 6. Day will last 48 hours. There was a one missing PM tonight.
Position 5 is Active for this phase.

Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Night 6 Continued)
Perhaps not as many missing PMs as I had thought...
Ahriman jogged down the path back to the Monastery to regroup with the Brotherhood. As he returned to the crossroads where they had met earlier, he could see a dark shape hanging from the signpost.
As he drew closer, he could see Dom hanging by his neck, from some tightly bound barbed wire. He was hanged so Brutally that his eyes had burst from their sockets and his tongue hung out, thick and purple.
Ahriman paused in sympathy, and moved on.
Dom has been killed by the Brutal Executioner.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 6)
Ugh! I had a whole post written up before the lock and it disappeared when I tried to post because of the lock. Will try to remember what I said.
And exhausted after an even longer work day than yesterday. Tomorrow is my day off, and Friday should be relatively quiet, so hoping to be able to play more in the coming days.
So, Afikoman (my name for the civ dude whose name I can't rememer) civ killed DP and I can't really argue with that choice. DP had the fewest posts in the game, other than non players, Typh who died night 1, and players who have been replaced or just replaced.
And Azura (which already sounds like Hebrew, so less hard to remember), killed Rico, whom I openly found suspicious, so if the baddies are going to kill people I think are not civ, then I smile and thank them, I guess.
And I am sorry to see Dom go, as I always enjoy his play. And he was giving me civ/civ-friendly-neutral vibes thus far--he seemed his eager puppy civ self (albeit somewhat calmed down since his early adolescent years) to me.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 6)
RIP all that died on this bloody night. I didn't feel strongly that Dom or Rico were bad, and I don't much know about DP. I'd say that was a pretty safe shot to make, Ahriman.
I'm also on my phone and drunk again for the 3rd night in a row. I'm falling apart. But that's ok.
I see none of my points about restarting the night were acknowledged. Oh well.
Also see that my points about Wilgy were batted down. I did write it quite buzzed at 4am after having been up for almost 24 hours, and saw that he responded. I'll have to reread what I wrote. I feel like Wilgy's response was that of a mother telling her son he can't have ice cream before dinner.
I do remember when skimming his response not being satisfied with his response to why he was defending Bubbles. Something along the lines of "better to be pursuing baddies than unrecruited". Shit, Im not going to pull it up right now. I promise I will pull specific quotes later. I need to respond in full later. I'm too drunk for this right now.
One of the last things I do remember Dom saying, however, is bringing attention to the fact that the Sorsha heat died away quite suddenly as soon as it started, and I want to bring her back into the discussion.
But I would also love to discuss Wilgy's blatant defending of Bubbles (but Scotty why would a mafia be so obvious? He would know he would look guilty when she came out bad) ahhh WIFOM City. His tone has changed between days 4 and 5 I feel. He worked to get the heat off Bubbles since the start of day 5, and while normally I would think a mafia would quiet down when the landslide started coming down hard on her, he doubled down and was quite one-track minded. His self-defense post immediately after it attempts to cover all his bases and intentions. Sigh. It's gonna be WIFOM because I don't want to put words in his mouth, but I also find the entire day as an observer of Wilgy quite suspicious. Once again, I have a bias in a particular lens, and don't have any proof, I just feel it. If no one else sees what I see, I'll stop pushing this, and just keep that watchful eye on him in my corner of solitude. But I invite others that haven't bothered to read my original comment to at least read it and tell me if I look like I'm trying to sell you a bridge.
Aight I'ma pass out. Hope to be around tomorrow after work.

When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather;
not screaming like the people in his car

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Message from Ca
Anyone figure this is the result of last night's contest? If so, going by the rules of the contest this should be legit right? Only, with so many names, does this constitute an entire baddie team, theoretically? OR Is this Jay one name from each faction that isn't Caelias? In short what does it all mean? ??Black Rock wrote:Caelia wrote:Bullzeye, SVS, Lorab and Scotty are enemies of peace.

That doesn't add up. The entries for the contest were due at the end of night, so the winner would not have known before then or had any information before then. I assume that Caelia had to have her power in by the end of the night period, as is traditional for night powers.timmer wrote:Anyone figure this is the result of last night's contest? I think it is speculation.

Hmm, it's an interesting point. Was last night position 4? That WOULD put Caelia into her "send a msg" spot, so you're suggesting maybe she actually borrowed the terminology of the contest to try to make her point more forceful and dupe people (like le moi)? Now now Caelia...LoRab wrote:That doesn't add up. The entries for the contest were due at the end of night, so the winner would not have known before then or had any information before then. I think it is speculation.I'll take that as a strong point in your favour, LoRab, you are right. It would seem that technically there should not have been enough time to get the results of the contest AND submit the message, if both were due at night's end.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Night 5)
It says role not player. Plus the end of the night means the judge still has to read them. Its speculation because I know at least part of it is not true.Black Rock wrote:Official Announcement
It's time to find out where some roles allegiances lie. There will be one winner with the choice to share or keep this information. One role from each team will be revealed to the winner. It's a huge advantage. Choose one team leader and write a back story for this leader. We will have a third party judge the winner anonymously.
Oh, you have until the end of the night, so get cracking.
