Re: WEEK 1: EZ Fantasy Baseball 2016
Actually, having a mid-week update will help me remember to send out a reminder notice for everyone to make their picks for the next week. It's a win-win.Metalmarsh89 wrote:Maybe a Thursday? Since most teams play 3-game series to start the week, Thursdays after those games have happened would split the week better.G-Man wrote:I'll probably do a mid-week update. Would you rather that occur on a Wednesday or a Thursday?birdwithteeth11 wrote:How frequently are you going to update this? Will you ever do it in the middle of the week, or will you wait until the end of each week to post any changes in the standings?
I wasn't expecting a mid-week report, but I'll gladly take it.

If you need assistance at any point, let me know. I like looking at stats and things, so if you're ever unavailable I'll gladly put together the weekly report.

If this first game was an indicator of how the rest of the series will go, then I need to get away from the Indians ASAP. I did find it entertaining to see consistency in Boston's runs: 002-002-002

Don't worry, the Red Sox have no pitching after David Price. Cleveland should be scoring plenty of runs the next two days.
i can't wait for the sox to go to toronto. Final scores of like 16-12 every night.

I'm kind of annoyed that I picked a West Coast team for this first week. I keep wanting to see how the A's are doing but they don't start playing until I'm all but in bed.

I feel you. The Reds will sometimes play at 9:30 AM, and while I can easily see the results the day of, it's difficult to watch or follow along live sometimes.

Re: WEEK 1: EZ Fantasy Baseball 2016
Time for the mid-week report!
S~V~S is benefiting from holding her nose and picking the Yankees for this week. She's got the top spot by four runs. There's a four-way tie for second thanks to the Cubs and Blue Jays. Houston isn't letting MP07 down too much and the same can be said for Russ and the White Sox. Another four-way tie for 8th place and both the 2015 World Series teams (Mets and Royals) are off to s slow start compared to everyone else.
1. (19 runs) S~V~S- NEW YORK YANKEES
2. (15 runs) birdwithteeth11- TORONTO BLUE JAYS
2. (15 runs) Epignosis- TORONTO BLUE JAYS
2. (15 runs) Sloonei- CHICAGO CUBS
2. (15 runs) Spacedaisy- CHICAGO CUBS
6. (11 runs) MovingPictures07- HOUSTON ASTROS
7. (10 runs) Russtifinko- CHICAGO WHITE SOX*
8. (9 runs) Draconus- CLEVELAND INDIANS*
8. (9 runs) G-Man- OAKLAND A'S
8. (9 runs) JaggedJimmyJay- CINCINNATI REDS
8. (9 runs) Metalmarsh89- CINCINNATI REDS
12. (5 runs) Turnip Head- NEW YORK METS*
13. (4 runs) AllAlongTheBoardwork- KANSAS CITY ROYALS*
Now for your weekly reminder to send me your next picks! Week 2 starts on Sunday, so I need your Week 2 team selections by midnight (EST) on Saturday, April 9th. Inside the spoiler tag below is a chart that will show who we've all picked so far to help you as the season goes along.
Just an FYI- my daughter is getting baptized at church this Sunday, so I may not get the Week 1 final scores posted until Sunday night or Monday morning.

Re: WEEK 1: EZ Fantasy Baseball 2016
That Reds pick for Week 1 is looking better and better.
But maybe I'll wait to get too excited until after this weekend series against the Pirates.
I'll probably submit my Week 2 pick this weekend, and give the teams a couple more games to show what they're made of this year. One team I definitely won't be picking though is the San Diego Padres.

Re: WEEK 1: EZ Fantasy Baseball 2016
Well, I was hoping for slow and steady after the A's first few games but they stumbled today. I have no idea who to go with for next week. The naive answer is to go with whoever scored big this week but baseball probably doesn't work that way. Or does it? Maybe I'll go with whoever has the most games against the Padres.

Re: WEEK 1: EZ Fantasy Baseball 2016
My Week 2 team will be the Washington Nationals.
@G-Man: So how do you handle games that are postponed? Cleveland's final game with Boston yesterday was postponed. Will I get credit for any runs by Cleveland when they have their make up game?

It doesn't matter when the game is scheduled, only when it is played. Otherwise it will require more stat tracking than I'd like. Plus, this adds an element of intrigue to the season.Draconus wrote:My Week 2 team will be the Washington Nationals.

Re: WEEK 1: EZ Fantasy Baseball 2016
I'm actually going to go back on what I said and pick the San Diego Padres for this week. My thinking is they're on the rebound after a bad start. Hopefully they found their bats with their last game. Besides, the Phillies stink, right? I see they have four games against them.
I know nothing about baseball so be prepared to see me make a lot of strange picks as I get the hang of this.

Everyone else got picks in to me except Spacedaisy and Turnip Head. I wanted to post their randomly selected teams now because I won't be back before games start today. Spcedaisy drew the NY Mets and Turnip Head drew the Toronto Blue Jays.

I bet a roid-raging rock climber is what really caused the Old Man of the Mountain to collapse. MM- have you ever been to New Hampshire, say around 2003?S~V~S wrote:I hear it's a big problem with rock climbers

Re: WEEK 1: EZ Fantasy Baseball 2016
I have not been to New Hampshire, nor have I met the old man in the mountain.
There's hardly any money to be made in rock climbing though, so I doubt any of them would go to the trouble of doping for it. :P
