Battlestar Galactica Mafia - GAME OVER

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day One
We guess in a random yet controlled way. What else would random controlled guessing be. So we use logic, but we also won't have an obvious pattern.
I could agree with LC, but I still think he is mafia. (cylon)
@LC why don't you want to call the cylons mafia?
linki: Ah okay Indiglo I missed that part.

It seems she knows more than she's letting on, and while I appreciate the legwork she's been doing on lore, I find the timing of the wiki article and "resurrection ship" article right after the night post...convenient. I'm not saying she's bad, but I am saying I feel that she knows more than she's letting on.
You guys read that Kat and Kit or whatever his name is canright? We don't know anything about the odds of them dying, or really anything cornering anything. What if they both die? Then no one with the right expertise can destroy the ship. Or not. I dunno. So to just rush in naming quadrants because it's there doesn't seem like the most prudent course of action. It's like branding your face on a waffle iron because you can't afford a professional tattoo, and Mike Tyson did it.die
If anyone has any information concerning this Battleship setup, I would suggest coming out with it sooner rather than later.
1 - I had no idea I would trigger these sorties by mentioning the Rezz Ship. I am a HUGE fan of this show though, so when people were standing around scratching their heads (due to not knowing the show) explaining things seemed like a no-brainer. It was indeed extremely convenient and good timing to trigger this though. As it does seem like the main way we'll be able to defeat Cylons. Can you imagine what would have happened if we only triggered it on day 5, after much frustration? I walked into it by accident, but boy was it a good thing.
2 - As I mentioned to sig, upon re-reading Goldama's post about the sorties, Kat and Hot Dog will ONLY be in danger IF they find the Rezz Ship and destroy it. And we MUST do that, imo. So we aren't just sending them off to their certain doom. (And in the show, they would have both gone anyway, certain doom or not. All viper pilots are badasses.)
3 - Yes, agreed. Anyone with any additional knowledge, please spill it. Or if you can't just spill it, give us a hint how we can help you spill it.

I agree. Something is feeling way off with JJJ to me as well this game. He's not as careful, or detail oriented.
My first experience with him was as Prisoner 509 in Turf Wars, but he was a bastion of accuracy, detail and context. Here he is... none of those things.

I am behind, but needed to post this.
I am alone and without any knowledge of the ships.
I'll just say you're overthinking things.indiglo wrote:One final Epi / Athena thought. On the Wiki, this is part of Athena's description:

So, when I see Epi continuing to post "Ask me questions"... it makes me think... if we ask the right question, he may be able to provide us with intelligence. We just may have to ask the right question. I'll start with a few. Others, feel free to add on.
@ Epi - Am I on the right track with your abilities / knowledge here?
Do you know where a Rezz Ship is located?
Do you know how many sectors a Rezz Ship will fill?
Is there more than 1 Rezz Ship?
Do you have any allies?
Also, we can create a schedule for his severe mistreatment once we get these sorties sorted.![]()

Also, what strategy do we want to take? Totally random, or a pattern?
@Epi, any insight on our search for the Rezz Ship?
I can only think that triggering this so early was a good thing. Getting rid of it will likely help us immensely.
Sorry Epi, I missed this offer of yours. Our current time slots are full, but there will be plenty more. (In fact I could go ahead and add them right now, then folks can sign up as they trickle in.) I have no problem trusting you to cover a shift, but will also bow to others' feelings.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day One
Ok, moving on to sorties for the moment. I like the idea of changing up the pattern. In fact, this was a question I came up with for Goldama, after he wouldn't answer my "do rezz ships move as we hunt them?" question.
@Admiral Goldama - IF Rezz Ships could move as we search for them… Would it be the actual Cylon roles moving the ship? Or would they be random movements? (I ask because I’m wondering if broadcasting our schedule is a bad idea for Cylons to see, or not.)
With that thought in mind, I am definitely up for switching up our plan, or not scheduling the sectors at all, after getting more input. So really, totally up to the group, if more are in favor of dropping our checkerboard pattern and going diagonally, or just randomly, that's cool. For the moment, I'll leave the sector assignments on the schedule, but if each player thinks it prudent, you may change your sector assignment - first just make sure the sector you want to search has not previously been searched. Cool? Cool.

PLEASE NOTE -
- The sector for you to authorize for searching will be added to this list also before your deadline rolls around. Please stick to the plan.
- Check the timing of the authorization for the person before you BEFORE posting YOURS. We can ONLY do this every 6 hours, so if the person before you was a little late, adjust your time accordingly to be the same amount of late. If we mess the timing up, we may be frakked.

Lynch Silverwolf. She was not expecting my survival.
All Cylons must die. I'm taking a hard stance on that one, I don't care if any particular Cylon fell in love or doesn't know they're Cylon, or is ME even. All Cylons have to die, for the human race to survive. That is the beginning and end of my part in this "debate". There are no Civvies and baddies, there are no town and scum. There are humans and Cylons.DrumBeats wrote:This whole are all cylons bad vs are only some cylons bad thing is interesting. Personally, I believe that only some cylons are against us and others may very well be on our side because 12 scum seems to be too many, especially with one reviving herself right now.
In order to get a more complete town consensus, I would like to hear every person's thoughts on what we are up against tonight. If everybody provides an opinion, we may be able to figure it out as a group, and we will also have things to look back on about this and maybe reveal more depending on how people flip when they die.
Epignosis, can you tell us about your Win Condition, now that you are outed?

@ Epi - No worries, I put the Marmot there before I saw your post anyway. But, thank you. Also, nuts to overthinking. Oh well, it was a good idea, right?
@ SW - No worries again on possibly missing your sortie. Thank you for finding an adequate replacement if need be.
I've got 8 minutes to kill before the next sortie. Oh, also a thought, if we do get a hit, do you all think we should then search the square around the hit, to make sure we got the whole thing? In case the ship covers multiple squares? I had forgotten to mention that earlier because my brain was going a mile a minute and I don't have enough fingers to keep up.
Linki - @ SVS - thank you. I think I added you in the appropriate place, but I will double check.

@Golden
Do we have to wait to choose a quadrant until after your confirmation post from our precious decision, or may we go by the counter on the 6 hour from the last decision?

Rando meaning within the underlined picks. I could get behind this approach, as it's still strategically viableRicochet wrote:I am 0% in agreement of switching to random picks. It has to be a clear pattern.

As an addendum to my question- i actually don't think we should just pick a quadrant before getting a confirmation anyway, in case we get a hit and can't go back to change our pick

I wouldn't. It's still random picking, down to the person in line authorised. We need the volunteers to have a pattern, so they can respect it.Scotty wrote:@Golden

What's the difference? Just go back to the plan next time.

If it does, he has had info and has kept it quiet for some reason.

I hope the Host seriously doesn't allow this, based on we establishing a queue of authorised volunteers, not Mr. Looney Coen over here.
indi, call it in, after the Host gives the result on A3 (if we have to wait for it), or call it in, when it's time.

Cool wit me. I meant to ask Goldama about that previously - if we need to wait for results before calling in the next sortie or not.Ricochet wrote:I hope the Host seriously doesn't allow this, based on we establishing a queue of authorised volunteers, not Mr. Looney Coen over here.

LC, it was a dick move. Completely. I'm not calling you a dick, btw.
